Victory Rolls In Short Hair - A Rockabilly Tutorial

Hi me Laura for video today, I'm going to show you just a hairstyle that I like doing with my hair, because it looks really good. It'S kind of like a rockabilly one, that's really curly. I know I have another rockabilly video, but my hair is longer now. I can actually do full victory rolls without having to fake it. So this is good. I just whipped it up. One night when I was going out, it looks really fun and I love it so here it is so I'm gon na do victory really here in one here so first off I got to get my hair a little bit curled in the side. Here, honestly, I'm not going to try that hard too curly, because it's just going to go like you, don't have to make this some huge deal. I'Ve already got some stuff on my hair to protect it from the heat. So I'm just going to go. Give myself a little curl here: my hair is getting stuck in my flutter, a flat iron tip number one figure out how to actually do it. Okay, there we go so there that's gon na, be my one victory roll perfect! Now, my second one. It'S going to go for my bangs, so I need to be able to get my bangs from going like this to wanting to go back with it. So first, I'm going to give them a little blow-dry just to encourage them like at the roots to go now. Let them cool down like this is just because you know I blow dried, my bangs forward to look like bangs this weight. You need to encourage your roots to go in the direction they want to go like they're, not gon na. Go back like this. If you blow-dried them that way, it just doesn't make sense. Oh look at that. They already want to go back, so I'm just gon na give these a little curl. Just like I did the other hair there, and it's just that. My ends are gon na. Go because otherwise it's just not gon na happen. These little short guys here are way too short, they're, not really gon na fit into my role. I'M just gon na you know, put on a ridiculous amount of hairspray and make them go. Go another one here he's given a nice little roll. If my hair is dirty, I don't even really have to do this. My but it'll just go. I can just give them like yeah like if I can wash my hair for a few days. I'Ll just do this, but this is because my hair is fresh okay kind of figure out how big a one you want. That looks pretty good there. Okay, so oh yeah, okay, so what I'm gon na do? I'Ve got a little bit of a wax here. I'M gon na put a little bit in my hair, not much like you see that tiny tiny little bit otherwise, my hair is gon na, be really really greasy, and I don't want that. But this is just gon na it just kind of sits on your hair and it separates everything. Gets it really nice look. I actually learned this by doing guys, hair because seriously as girls, we spend so much time trying to figure out the right products and stuff guys just cook whatever on their hair, and you know no, I swear they don't look into it as much. Maybe they do and I'm just judging them, but either way if things get the perfect texture, perfect everything, so I decided you know I would never put wax in my hair before now. I do it and I'm so happy. I do because it's like perfect as long as you don't put in too much look at this okay. So what I'm gon na do is take my hair here and it's already so much more volumous. Do you see the difference there already that it's made just by putting it in? Oh, I do have a lot of mousse in my hair though, but I'm just going to give this a little light. Tease here, I'm mostly going to try to make it stay in by putting in hairspray cos. I just want to get the most volume and biggest look possible, so I'm going to hold this up, give it a little light thing here: comb through and I'm gon na grab my curls curl here put them all together. It slightly pull it back here and form it into a little circle. Sometimes it takes a little bit to get it because you want to get it the right shape back here to get it to look real nice, but just play around with it a little bit until you get the desired role that you want. Look, you know you can have it big, you can have it small, you can have it slanted. This is your hair. Do whatever you think looks the prettiest. You know just because I've done it. This way doesn't mean that it's going to look the best on you and you just need to find the way that works for you and that's what doing your hair is all about. You know getting something: that's unique to you, even if you are taking a look from somebody else. Okay, so now I've got my role here. I really like the look of it. I'M just gon na lightly hold it here, and I'm gon na take a pin and bobby pin this into here, and you know what these two really care of. My bobby pin showed. It was like only good if you can't even showing - and you know what I don't really care that much anymore. It still looks good and it's a lot less hassle. You know just who cares if I have an inch of it, showing okay, no so space guys for hairspray hairspray. I love with my color how it just goes red like pink and then fade into the blonde. They'Re almost like I've got little tie-dye whatever ombre something. It'S just beautiful, I'm gon na know, I'm not. I was gon na put a pin back there, but I don't need to right. Now there we go one nice big loop to find that home there we go. Okay, there's one now for my second one, I'm just gon na put it right here. Take this, give a little tease there and now what you want to do for this one is you need to pull it up like this to be able together? So again, you need to get your ends going in that little circle you know, get them all curling together, but lift this hair up here now put your hand in here and just fold your circle down like this and almost make this stand straight up like this. Do you know what I mean try to get your loop up up up this one's a little bit harder, because my hair is short but does work and it looks good, I'm catching some other hair in here. Okay, here we go it's falling apart done! Okay! Here we go bobby, pin I'm gon na put this one in here: okay, go now! This put one at the back to just a hold side back there, woohoo look at those two nice big rolls, okay of those when you have short hair, you have to put in so much hairspray to make things hold all right. So now I'm going to curl the rest of my hair, so my flat iron on and I'm just going to do different bits, I'm going to take some pieces and I'm going to do little curls and some I'm going to do big curls just so that I Kind of get it's a wild sort of look. I don't really want to have it looking too perfect at all cuz, I'm kind of over having my hair look like that. So you see that down at the bottom. I took a really big piece and I just did a small twist in it. That'S because there, if you make your curls too tight in the bottom, it's gon na make your hair look short, and I just hurt my hair sizzle, because my dreadlock is wet perfect. Okay, anyway, so just grab pieces curly, whatever direction you want, this is kind of a fun wild hairstyle. Do whatever you want. Whatever you think is gon na look good. Do it, you don't have to do it. The same as me, I'm just giving you guidelines that you know you have some ideas, but this is something you can really get creative with and you can just do whatever you like, cuz, that's what doing your hair is all about. So here we go so little few twists and turns starting to look good. I'M gon na do a little bit of one back here. There we go and I think that's looking really good. Alright, my dreads look pretty in there perfect. So here we go. There'S my hairstyle a little new, exciting fun short twist on rockabilly or I guess it's not really a choice but either way I love it doing this alright.
