#hair #tips #blonde

Hi everyone welcome back to my channel in today's video we're going to be doing something. I'Ve never done so as a blonde specialist you've seen me, go brighter, do a balayage on myself, baby lights, toners all of it, but today i'm actually darkening. My hair and i've been wanting to do this for a while, but the reason why i want to share it with you guys is because not only do i want to show you the formula and the exact steps i take to get there, but i also want To explain like the importance of when you are blonde you're wanting to go darker. Not only do you have to perfectly balance the color so that you don't end up with this flat dull, looking color, which can sometimes be the case when you are going from blonde to a more brunette shade and the secret to that is to use a semi-permanent Color this way the color just fades so much more beautifully easier on the hair and you have more possibilities later, which i'm all about so the color i've been craving. Is this sandy brunette, where it's definitely has some like warm tones? But it's like perfectly balanced. I want something: that's a little more toned down and a little more low maintenance, and i've mentioned this in the past. On my channel, i love this kind of richness or more goldeny kind of brunette in the summer. I think that pairs so beautifully with a tan who knows, maybe in the winter i'll crave a blonde again and if so, we'll go there again enough of the chatter let's get into it. So i'm gon na break this up into two parts. I'M going to go in with a kind of a root shadow. My roots are covered, so i don't need a permanent color on my roots at all right now, but what i want to do is create a little bit of a shadow. Basically, i want to add in a little bit more warmth and kind of balance tones through the ends, but on the roots i really kind of just wanted slightly darker than the rest of the hair. So for the whole color i'm going to be using redken shades. Eq, but today i'm going to be featuring the m series which i'm so excited to share with you. I have used these in the past on my hair and i absolutely love love the color. So for my roots, the formula is going to start with the shades eq gloss and then i'm going to be doing one ounce of 7m and one ounce of 7nw. The nw is just going to give it just a tad of warmth. I do have some highlights at the root, so you never want to go in with something that's too cool or too flat and then for the rest of my hair. So my mid lengths through the ends and then for that formula, i'm going to be starting that off with three ounces of the shades eq processing solution, then i'm going to mix that with one ounce of a 7n one ounce of 7g and 1 ounce of 7m. All right, let's get started, i feel like i should be a little bit more nervous, but this is not like crazy commitment, so yeah just excited for something new and fresh all right. So i'm going to mix up my root formula all right, so i've got my mixture ready. You can definitely also add this to like an applicator bottle. I love the precision of using the brush, so let's go for it so the further i travel to the back of the head the further down. I come just personal preference, but i think it gives it a much more natural look all right. So once i've established kind of this teardrop section now we're just gon na go through and paint in all of our roots. So i have a lot of depth in through here, but i'm still going to be applying this same color throughout, because i want that same kind of m, shade and tone throughout. You need to know moving on to this side and doing the exact same thing also, because i'm applying the roots first, the roots will process the longest. So in turn, just giving me a little bit more of that depth and darkness that i'm wanting at the roots. Just let it go so because i'm only working on the roots. For now, i have um this dry hair to kind of hold on to once i get into applying the color all over i'll, be applying gloves and so we're ready to move on to the mid lengths and ends all right. So for the next step. Applying gloves and i'm going to go ahead and start mixing my mid length color, so i just looked down and realized every single shade. Color is in level seven and that's definitely the darkest i've probably been in say six years, seven years. Yet i'm not panicking. I'M excited all right so got our next formulation ready to go. I'M gon na start in the back once again, because i want that to sit just a little bit longer and i'm going to be doing the face framing pieces last because i want this to just be a smudge lighter than the rest all right. So for that back section, i'm going to raise the first half and work on the bottom half first and work my way up: okay, once that bottom half is well saturated, we'll start grabbing sections from the top and then all right now, moving on to this side, Section here all right, so i'm going to leave this section for last massaging the product in to the areas i've already colored and then coming on to this section and then we'll be doing both front sections last. We are well saturated, i'm just going to continue to massage the product through i'm going to let this process for a full 20 minutes, and then i'm going to shampoo and condition and i'll be back with the results. All right and we're back still feels like the same hair, but a little more understated, which is what i was going for. I feel like it already feels healthier, so i've actually washed my hair twice now. The reason for that was as soon as i was done, filming the tutorial portion. I had to run out of here and i had 15 minutes to get to a console, so i didn't wash my hair properly. The way i like to after i have done this service, the best way to lock in color and to continue to have a vibrant, beautiful, hair color results is to use a good, shampoo and conditioner. So aura, shampoo and conditioners is what i use on my hair and have been doing so since very early this year. It'S a customizable and personalized shampoo and hair care line, but it is extremely affordable and talked about this in the past. Basically, you're getting not only a good deal on like the product itself, but you're only paying for ingredients that are actually working for your hair because you are personalizing it so because i color and process my hair um. My formula is made to repair smooth and moisturize. I'Ve been working with their sister company for about seven years now, which means that is how good they are, and one of the best things about them is that they are affordable, high quality salon products, which is something that i always strive to have on my channel. That are going to deliver those beautiful salon results, but without breaking the bank they're all smushed, because the bottle is almost empty. But you too can try out aura. If you would like you can use code, l, bangs, 20 for 20 off plus free shipping and i'll leave all the details in the description below hope. You enjoyed this video. I know it's different because i'm always teaching you and showing you how to go lighter. It helps me make more videos like this. Alright i'll see you in the next one bye, guys

ellebangs: 1 IMPORTANT Note - I used a Malibu C Clarifying Treatment on my ends to add shine in the shower after coloring - I have included details on how to find these clarifying treatments and a link to a video where I show you how to use them in the Description box! Happy caramel brunette weekend!

99 Bannanas: OMG! This color looks soooo great on you and with your skin tone!!

Janet's Planet: Gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous! Being able to do such a beautiful job on yourself, now that’s real talent! I wish you went brunette and posted this two months ago. I had a horrible experience in May at my salon wanting to go more brunette. I told my stylist that I wanted to add some lowlights but leaving out many of my blonde pieces for contrast. Well, she barely left out any blonde and the combination of the brown she added next to my blonde left my hair looking........GREY!!! In fact I work at an elementary school in the lunchroom and I had so many little kids comment on my hair. “what did you do to your hair?” “ Why did you spray paint your hair grey”? “ I like your grey hair”. I wanted to cry!!

Marianne Donato: Hi Sylvia, I watched this video about five times to help me get up the courage to do this. I saw the new M series so I used 7m on the roots, pulled it all the way through the back and sides, then did the top and front last, combing it through to the ends before washing it out. It canceled any faded coppery tones I didn’t want and added an incredible depth to my color, it also muted any gray I have at the root/crown area. I’m absolutely sold on doing this in between permanent color to freshen up the tone without having to do everything every time, thank you!

Heather White: Gorgeous color! Don’t be in a hurry to go light blonde again. This color makes your face and eyes look more alive and you look younger I recently went to a similar shade after years of bleach blonde, and I look so much better, so much healthier — as do you!!

Lisa Blevins: Wow , this color looks absolutely breath taking on you !!! So pretty and softens your already beautiful features ❤️❤️

Killa Fonic: I can't believe you're even more beautiful now! I'm looking at my quite new golden beige hair and and at the box full of my direct colors which include beige and a gorgeous brown and repeating to myself: be strong, stay golden. Love you, you're amazing and your new look is magnificent and so obviously pro.

Cummins Sunshine Bear: Omg this is exactly what I’m wanting to do right now! My daughter has the prettiest light brown/dark blonde hair and I want mine to look like that! Natural blonde here but my roots are dark compared to my bright hair. I’m hoping I can do my hair like this!

Joan Gentile: It's a beautiful color!! It looks great on you, Sylvia!! I love it!! It looks great with your skin color!! Absolutely gorgeous!!

Elle Kasapi: I’ve been following you since the very very very beginning and this is by far my absolute favorite color on you! Looks AMAZING ❤️

Rita Gongora: I love the result! It looks so natural and compliments the blonde ❤

Melissa Roby: Your hair looks great! The color is beautiful. I love the idea of going darker for the summer!

Ally Sun: I was flipping out when she first started doing this (the dye looked so dark when she was painting it on) but she always comes out so perfect. It's a gorgeous color.

Rebeca Diaz: This color looks so good on you!!!! Definitely my favorite color!

Anna Wojnarowska: You look gorgeous!! Amazing color, It's actually great for me that you've made this video, i'm going darker my self today (7) , doing the root Shadow(6A), and you made me confident with my decision

Tracey Lynn: When the blonde specialist says she wants to be a bit darker, shit gets real I was like Nooooooooo at first, but it turned out amazing and you look beautiful as ever!!

Shauna Angelo: I love this color on you! I loved the blonde hair on you too but as a fellow brunette, I personally think darker hair suits you better

Malrocks: Would you ever consider doing a video or series that people could send in photos of themselves. You could analyze and help suggest colors and cuts? I’m struggling with what do to with my hair. My amazing colorist is great, but tells me I can do whatever I want. I want to find what truly flatters me and “goes” with my undertone (which I also struggle with). Love the look and your content!

Katelyn de Freitas: This was SO helpful! I'm trying to grow out my highlights and I used two leve 7 demi-perms (not the same brand though, they don't have it readily accessible in Canada) but it really worked! No damage and no super dark look (which usually happens!). Thanks :-)

MICHELE KIRKLAND: LOVE THE COLOR!! Great job and exactly the color I want now!

Robin Dusch: It looks absolutely beautiful Sylvia!

Norman Hopfensperger: Elle, that's a beautiful transformation! Awe inspiring too! That'll help your followers, perhaps try it too, less stress on their hair.

Koco: HOLD UP does this mean you’re gonna start making videos catered to brunettes?? STOP this might be the best thing that’s ever happened to me

adoreddesigns: this is so beautiful!! I'm doing the same with my blonde tomorrow because of you

CJ knose: Looks great Makes your skin tone look amazing . Easier to maintain this look . I have ombré . 5 N roots all the way to 10 on the ends. I love it . You could go even lighter on your ends! BEAUTIFUL

Joy Leslie: Love this video! You look amazing ! I love your calming, easy going way.

Heather T: I legit went brunette yesterday. Thank you Elle! Love you!

Denice Gray: Thank you so much for this video. I wear alternative hair while growing out my Covid hair loss and I have a piece that is too light for me. I wanted to do something to darken it so I think I’ll try this technique but perhaps I need to go down a level to six or five I’ll think about it but either way you’ve inspired me thank you.

Pixievette: I was nervous for you. ❤️ I love you as a blonde but wow this color looks fantastic you look beautiful , made your beautiful eyes look even brighter. I dare to try myself for a splash of color this summer. You can rock any color effortlessly.

Kate Ostreicher: looks so amazing on you!! I'm going back to brunette soon, but all the way to my natural super dark brown because of the maintenance.

Lauren Sammut: I couldn’t stop thinking about this colour since I saw this a few days ago. Today I finally got the products & the result is aaaamazing! Thank you x

Twisted Stitches: Omg Sylvia is gorgeous ALWAYS! I love the way you look with darker hair, I remember years ago you showed some pics of yourself as a young girl/teen and I thought how gorgeous the dark color looked on you too… I like this look and I’m thinking for the fall I’ll be giving a darker look!

britter: Loving the brown!! It looks gorgeous

Suzette Smith: I went darker reddish last month and it feels so much more natural. Looks good! I've tried the function of beauty but it just still wasn't working for me

Melissa D: I've been wanting to do this! Thank you so much for this video!

Geengi Key: Love this hair color on you, so beautiful and healthy

Jo: I love how this turned out. I'd love your opinion on how I can do something like this with my recently overly blonde hair.

Tara Livesey: Looks great. I thought you had to add pigment to blonde hair (red or copper) to go brunette. Does the 7G work as the pigment added? Thank you

Ashley Umsted: This is exactly what I'm looking for! Thanks for sharing this!

40bdg: Gorgeous! You wear both brunette and blonde so well!

TheYouChannel: Great job ! Great color! Looks stellar on you! Stay happy!! (and stay away from the negatives)

Christine: This is the best hair color I've seen you in

Maura Ronda: This looks gorgeous on you. Darn. I just did blonde today. Lol. Love your videos!

Ashlee: This is my favorite hair color on you! Looks so beautiful!

Mary Hill: Great job and looking gorgeous as ever.

J Bird: I love this girl. Beauty and brain! She must have eyes behind her head lol! I could never undertake this job! I’m dying for my hair salon to open! I’m Canadian living in Saigon, we’re on complete lockdown , no vaccines yet and I’m worried about my highlights?!?! I’ve got MY priorities straight

angelena arrigo: this is the BEST your hair has ever looked! Ive been following for YEARS. can you talk about how long the toners last? does temp of water really matter? I love Redken shades eq and they last a good while on my hair. I only get my hair done twice a year. Once to bleach for a lived in balayage ombre and cut and once in the fall to tone and trim. I LOVE a lived in look. I try to stay away from Purple shampoos because they dry out my hair so I use Redken Purple Conditioner once a month and its amazing.

Veronica Ewings: Shades EQ is the best! I use these on 99% of my clients and I love that since it’s a Demi-permanent color it lasts longer than a semi-permanent would but without the commitment and dullness of a permanent color. And the shine it gives the hair is a big plus!

V Carmack: Love this! If my natural roots are already growing in and that's closer to a 5N, what would you recommend differently for the root and mod length formulas if I want to achieve the same outcome?

Debbie Giori: I love this on you! Definitely going to try this myself! My hair is about a level 6 with approximately 30% grey and lots of highlights, but it's looking very washed out. Will the Shades EQ lighten my natural color at all like a normal toner usually does? I would just like to tone down the all-over blonde look. ☺

Ramona Sobrino: I love it!! That looks beautiful! I did that with my hair but my hair turned out darker at the roots, I used 4n because my natural hair color is Dark brown.

bookwrm4evr: Wow, it looks so good! Like you've been on vacation and got a little bronzed. So pretty.

ky ja: Love your results! Beautiful

prep For life: AMAZING! I want to do this!.. been wanting to but was nervous!… this is gorgeous

AKE: So beautiful. This is how I want my brown hair to look.

Reneé: Lovely hair. I didn’t think I’d like the darker hair on you but I do!

s mmg: You look gorgeous!!! Your hair looks amazing!!!

Jade: This came at perfect timing I wanted to do this color for September looks amazing on you!!

Abdullah Ansari: At 3:51 I was like "WOAH" I didn't realize your hair has so much dimension under the blond. The root colour at 3:52 is sooooo beautiful

Tabi Amber: Wow, this color makes your eyes and facial Features pop!! It looks so harmonious with your skin tone. Blonde can make you Look washed out.

Koco: I know SO many people who desperately needed this video & I’m frantically sharing it lol thank you! This made my day!

Myriam: Looks beautiful!

Carly Jacobs: This color really suits you. It is very natural looking.

Caroline West: Looks great on you! I've done the same however first time I had alot of red in it which I'm told was needed to stop my hair turning green. 6 weeks later we are going a lighter shade balyage with less red. The shade is better however 2 weeks further shades of orange are appearing so I'm a little frustrated

Mini Mini: A small thing I really appreciate about this videos, Silvia: the amount of time between “so, let’s go for it” and the brush touching the hair lol! The cool attitude might be due to you being a professional, but it’s nice to not waste time on “aaah!”, “I’m so nervous!”, “idk if I should do this!”, “no turning back now!” bs lol ❤️

Andrea Rodgers: Looks gorgeous!!!

Be_HomeandLiving: Looove it! It looks stunning on you

Anna E: You look sooo good in the darker shade! You even look younger and the skin looks more glowing

vox8md: This hair color is gorgeous on you!

Wynn Neal: My jaw dropped. You look really good and glowing with this color

Leonie H.: Aaah I just finished and it looks sooooo good! I am so so so happy and so proud thank you thank you thank you !

benji18111: OMG You look even more beautiful now. That color works so well with your skin tone. You look like a victoria secret super model.

Grace Lotz: I love the earthiness of this look! Now as the gloss washes out will it go back to the previous blonde or is there always a slight cast left?

Wendy: Beautiful color love this on you !

Selina: Love this colour change. Really suits you.

Lovey: So beautiful I'm gonna try this today

alissa landen: Beautiful color on your complexion!

Lizzy .•❥•.: Hi! I just went from black to brunette (first time I changed my Virgin hair loving it I feel so hot ) and I have a couple questions. I asked my stylist but I feel like I needed to be more clear. I want sew-in extensions done before school starts on the 24th (or atleast maybe 2 weeks in or so). Is it ok if I get extensions done in a couple days, few weeks, or even the same day? Does it matter would it do anything to my hair or is it fine? want more length and also want to baby my hair and take care of it too I’m just so confused and worried what to do this is my first time ever and I feel like I’m over complicating and nervous I seriously want extensions done I’ve seen people get color and extensions the same day but idk my stylist recommends I wait for a little bit to get used to my hair first but also says it’s ok.

Tiffany Browder: I love it!!! It looks great on you

Lori: Gorgeous both ways. But I love the change back to your darker color!!!

MsSneaky0815: I really love your blonde tones, but boy oh boy, the brunette looks AMAZING on you as well...

ichiban: That is a gorgeous light brunette omg !!! Suits you so well and makes your eye color stand out more !

baby spice: Wow, this colour is stunning!

Haydee M: Looks really good! When going darker do you need to fill in the hair with gold and red color first with a semi or Demi, or is not necessary?

Mindy Miller: Holy crap! That looks freaking amazing on you! I did not expect that. Rock star status.

Liliana Rodriguez: I love it!!! I did the same thing.

Alyssa Manning: I am always so amazed you do this on yourself. Im a fellow hairdresser too! Hahaha. Thank you for this! Entertaining

Cheezy X4: She makes it look so easy

Melissa Yeaw: I love this color!! it’s amazing! If your already a brunette, to get this would it require a lot of bleaching and then toning?

Mrs. Baird’s Bunch: Wow! Girl! That’s my dream colour! You look AMAZING!

Georgina Curiel: I haven’t seen your videos in a while :( but coming back…You look so beautiful!! You’re glowing!!

Kathleen: I love your videos...they are so helpful!! Toner washes out of my hair in about 4 washes. How often can I reapply and not damage my hair??

stephanie syckle: Your hair turned out beautifully good job

k B: you look super pretty in every colour :) sending love

Amanda Vilenio: Omg your hair looks amazing !

M J: Love it! It compliments your skin tone better.

Sydney Wilson: This colour highlights your skin tone and eyes really well. The best!’

Noel Richardson: Thank you for teaching me during Covid I now can do my own roots

Cassidy: Absolutely love it!

Jordan Lawson: I LOVE THIS ON YOU!!! I am wanting to do the same thing.. but my hair is bleach blonde. My natural color is much darker, probably light brown or mushroom blonde. I watched another video before finding yours & got ion PERMANENT color… can I still use the permanent color or do I need to get semi-permanent? Thank you so much! Your videos are so helpful!
