To you who is reading this description oh yes I see you. I hope you are having a great day.

Hello there oh welcome or welcome back in this video. I will be sharing with you some popular hair care trends that i do not follow and the reason why i do not follow these ear care trends. The first one is co-wash. Now, if you're not familiar with what co-washing is, basically it is you using a conditioner only to wash your hair, and usually this is done mid-week. So, for example, if you wash your hair on saturday with your regular shampoo and conditioner, then come mid week, maybe on wednesday, then you go in and do your co-wash, where you only use a conditioner to wash your hair and then on the weekend saturday. Then you return to using your shampoo and your conditioner on your regular wash day. So that's basically what co-washing is so many persons they'll tell you to do co-washing on your relaxed ear and they say that co-washing, your hair midweek, helps to restore moisture and also to balance the moisture in your hair while helping your hair to remain hydrated. When i had my hair natural, i did do co-washing on my natural hair, but since i've been relaxed, i've never done co-wash and my hair is doing very well. It'S well maintained, even on my wash day, my hair looks really really good, so i would not go in and do a co-wash mid-week. I just feel like that is just extra work for me that i am not prepared to do, and anyone who knows me know that i'm always walking with my umbrella in my bag that, just in case i'm on the road and the rain, starts to fall. Then my umbrella is going up and i'll be under my umbrella sheltering my hair from getting wet so like. Why would i want to wet my hair? Purposely midweek? I don't think so. My routine is quite fine without co-washing and i'm not going to add it to my hair care. Now, if you co-wash your hair and it works for you keep your hair routine, i'm just letting you know that this is not a part of my hair care, routine. I'Ve never done it on my relaxed hair and i'm definitely not planning on adding it to my hair care, routine number, two t-shirt drying or basically drying your hair with a t-shirt now for some persons. They believe that when you use a t-shirt to dry your hair, then you're actually applying less friction to your cuticle and thus will prevent your cuticles from being damaged. Also, usually, t-shirts are made from cotton material, which means that if your hair dryer here and you use a t-shirt to dry your hair, then of course you know that cotton is very absorbent, and so it will heat in drying or taking out extra moisture from your Hair does making your hair drying process a lot quicker now for me personally, i do not use t-shirt to dry, my hair, i have never done it. Even my hair was natural. I did not use t-shirt to dry. My hair. I still use a tool to dry. My hair, now even in the cosmetology school persons, are trained to use toel. They are not trained to use t-shirt to dry their hair, but somebody came up with this bright idea and then it was a boom and everybody followed that trend. This is something to keep in mind. We were never to use our toes to rub onto her hair in the cosmetology industry. The word toy blot is used and the word toy black means to gently blot your hair or gently tap on the toil to get the excess water out. You were never to use the toil and rub it onto your hair. Remember that her cuticles are pointing down. For example, if i leave piece of my hair up, my cuticles are down anything you put on your hair and do this in an upward movement. It is going to cause friction to your cuticles and so to minimize any friction on your cuticles. That is where you, the toy blood techniques, come in, so maybe i should get a toilet. So let me get one so i have this toilet here and i'm going to show you how to do your toy blot. So let me just comb out my hair from my face like that all right, and then we are going to get our toil and i'm just going to put a towel behind me like that and i'm just going to pull my hair back. Like that rest, the toil onto my hair, like that and all i'm going to do, is pat like that gently pat, the back section, which would have been the loose section, just get it and you squeeze it right. Just like that. So just a pattern once you're done, you lift it off here like that, so no rubbing onto the hair, and that is what you want. So, if you're using your tool in that manner, then there should be no friction or a limited friction if any at all. If you're, using your toilet in the correct manner, for me personally, i know that using a toilet that technique will help to get all the excess water and, at the same time, will not cause friction to my hair. However, if you are comfortable using the t-shirt to dry your hair, please do not stop using your t-shirt to dry your hair, i'm just letting you know that i am comfortable using the towel to dry my hair, because i have a technique that i use and i Maintain that technique, so i'm not worried that the toilet is going to cause friction. So my cuticles or damage my cuticles number, three, the loc method and the lco method. Now the loc method is liquid oil and cream, and then the lco is liquid cream and oil and in both cases the word liquid means wet, and i am definitely not wetting. My hair midweek. Oh no, with these two matters. Basically, i would be misting my hair spraying water onto my hair and then either having a cream or oil to my hair afterward. No, when i roll a set my hair, this is how my hair comes out nice and smooth. So if i put anything that is liquid based, it's going to cause my hair to start to get frizzy and believe me, i do not want that. I want my hair to stay nice and smooth all week long until my wash day. So i do not include that in my hair care routine each week because, like i said that is more work and i'm definitely not looking for more work. I'M trying to make my hair care routine simple around here, but still maintaining healthy relaxed hair number. Four stretching my relaxed ear beyond what my hair can manage now. What do i mean by this? So for some of us we decide. Okay, we're gon na stretch our hair three months, two months, four months, five months, and we know deep down that our hair cannot manage that long period of stretching, and once we go beyond what our hair can truly manage, then of course you are going to have Hair breakage and i can tell you about hair breakage because i have done it, and that was my experience, not sure if it was yours, but it was definitely mine. Currently, i stretched my hair to three months, which would have given me 12 weeks and, as my last relaxer experience taught me, even though i wanted to stretch my hair to 12 weeks, i realized that my hair wasn't having it. My hair could not manage to go all the way to the 12 weeks, so i ended up relaxing my hair in the 11th week and for me personally, i think i should have relaxed my hair even before that time period. So i did do a video to show the update of my last relaxer. So if you would like to see that video i'll leave the link in the description below where you can get all the details about what happened to my hair, the breakage and all. So my plan from now on, whenever my hair says it's time to relax, then it's time to relax. So i'm not going to force my hair to go to 12 week, but that is going to be my marker. But it's good to have america, something that you can target and for me the 12 week period is my marker. But if my hair needs to be relaxed before 12 weeks, i am going to relax my hair because i see what happens to my hair. When i push it beyond what it needs to be pushed, i'm definitely not going to be stretching my hair to four months five months and even more so six months, like no i'm going to relax my hair once my hair says it's time and how do i Know that when my new ghost starts become unmanageable, let me know in the comment section if you share the same sentiment as i do in regards to stretching your relaxed ear. Do you think that we should really be pushing our hair to meet a particular target, or should we just relax right here once we're here is ready and number five protective ear styles and the protective ear stairs i'm talking about are the ones where i would cornrow My hair and then put on a wig for some persons they'll do that in order to retain length or just to give their hair a break and so they'll wash their hair with the cornrows in and then once the hair is dry. They do add their stuff to the hair and scalp and then they'll go again and wear the wig. Some persons might pull the cornrows out and wash their hair and scalp and then convert their hair again and then put on their wigs, and they will use that as a form of protective hairstyle to give their hair a break and for some person it does work For them, but for me personally, i don't think i've ever tried doing that really. So for me personally, that's not a part of my hair care routine. So it's not that i would never wear a wig or i don't like wigs, because i have worn wigs before, but it's not something that i would do in order to retain length or anything like that. So i'm not against wig wearing, don't get me wrong! I'M not against wearing wigs, it's just that. It'S not a part of my hair care routine. At this time it doesn't mean that in the future, i won't make it a part of my hair care routine, but for many years it has not been, and currently it is not. If you are doing this form of protective your style and it is working for your hair, getting your hair to rest and maybe limiting the amount of breakage, you have keep doing it if it is working for you. All i'm saying is that it is not a part of my hair care routine. It is not something that i use in order to help to maintain my hair. Do you use protective hair style as a means of retaining length, and also to minimize how much you manipulate your hair? Let me know in the comment section and also share what protective styles you do on your hair. Apart from having popular hair care trends, there are some popular hair care products. I did a video recently sharing some popular hair products that i no longer use. So if you are interested, then go ahead and watch this video next and i'll see you in my next video bye, you

Mia Moore: As someone who’s been relaxed for about 12 years these tips definitely ring true. I tried co washing a couple times and it wasn’t for me, i found that it weighed down my hair with product and made it so difficult to detangle. Extra effort and my hair did not appreciate it. I’d much rather just wait to fully wash it

This Trini Will: I feel you on all of these things. 1. I do not have the patience and 2. I AM NOT WETTING MY HAIR MIDWEEK! lol lol lol

Tanya S: Thank you for sharing this. Once i started to do my own hair, I noticed that hat many relaxed care trends seem mimic the natural hair community and it just didn’t make sense at all. So I appreciate your video because i agree with all your points. I don’t use a protective style, co wash, stretch beyond what my hair needs, tshirt dry or moisturize and seal either. My hair is just fine… lol!

Modest Inspiration: When my hair is ready I relax, I see some people stretching and it's doing them more harm than good. I totally agree to let your roots do the talking.

Magalie Zamilus: I learned to listen to my hair and not follow those trends on YouTube. I tried to subscribe to people's channels who know the Science of Hair not recycling information.

0tismadaline: Your hair is absolutely gorgeous and thanks for sharing your regimen with us, am not stretching for long again

Carol Kamboyi: Protective styling works very well for me,sometimes I do it just to change my look because I easily get bored with hairstyles. But my biggest lesson is doing what works for my hair.

Kimmy: Recently came across your videos & I’ve learned so much I stretched my relaxed hair for 8 months & I had some breakage. I’m never going to stretch for that long again

Love lite: I am so glad you did this KEEPING it REAL video and I agree with it co washing always sends my hair into a moisture over load it’s just as bad as protein over load, can’t follow everything on YouTube

Christel Lulu: I use both , and you're right, we never meant to rub the towel on our my hair ! ❤️

Seasoned Queen: True, stretching the relaxer too much and dealing with 2 textures makes no sense to me but cornrowing and box braiding my hair has worked wonders...i have thick coarse hair strands

Tracey Lennon: I never understood having all that new growth and not get a touchup..

Lola O: Hello Sis Kurlymeka, Just stumbled on your video. Good key points, I agree stick to your Hair Regime. We need more videos like this it would encourage others. Thank you!!!!

GoldenAngel: Good content sis. As far as im concern, - i moisturize my hair once a week : cream + oil (jojoba) - i T-shirt dry - i stretch my relaxer to 6 months . Not easy but excellent for my fine n thin hair. I notice thickness n health since i started stretching that long.

wambui kariuki: Oprah said the secret to great hair is to switch up your products.

racc: We are on the same page. I don’t follow any of the trends you mentioned, and my hair is fine. To each his own.

Beautiful_Silver: Yes I agree with you. Thanks for sharing

Nedrienne Johnson: Beautiful hair and personality ❤❤

Tracey Lennon: It's the somebody came up with this Bright idea and then it was a BOOM for me! I don't think they meant to rub your hair with it though..

Sapphire Relaxed Hair: Trends on you youtube are NOT good I did make a video about following trends but I do speak about trends often on my channel :) thank you so much God-bless you

dkny39: Bright idea Tshirt drying. I tried it once and go back to towel

Miss Bernice: I've never dried my hair with T- shirt .

Crystalin Daniel: This is really informative, and really we have to listen to our hair when comes to stretching our relaxers my mark is 12 wks also, but if my hair say i cannot go until 12 wks i relax.......

JL: Excellent Information Thank you for sharing

African Queen: Great tips.I stop stretching. Point blank ! My sista i can't afford to lose anymore hair. Ten weeks, and my hair said it's time relax me. Have a blessed day ❤ Canada
