Hello, beautiful butterflies and welcome back to naturally graceful. If this is your first time I'm Nina, and today I have an amazing guest Shana from let's talk naturally, and today, we're gon na be talking about gray, hair, hair loss, thinning alopecia, dry hair and the five tips that can help us to deal with those natural And gray hair problems that we may come along with. I know many of you have emailed me or sent me messages saying what can I do about my thinning gray hair? What can I do about my dry, hair and Shauna has an amazing testimonial of products that she use. She has knowledge of things that can help grow our hair, as well as ru Vedic herbs, so without further ado. Welcome to everyone who's joining we're going to go over a couple of things: we're gon na go over her testimonial and then from there. Please put your questions that you have for Shauna and we'll get into a Q & A you can welcome to session when she took her hair down one evening, her hair and I was like mommy no, what happened? What happened to your hair and we have done some research - it was discovered that she had something called CCC. I will tisha, which tends to have been to women up Lewis, people of color, not necessarily just women of color. So I'm sorry, but you know it tends to happen to people of color and as we did the research we discovered that that happens a lot because the crown of our head of everyone's head, the crown of our head, is where we get the least amount of Blood circulation, and sometimes what happens is that along great when that's prolonged it can lead to thinning hair and hair and a male pattern. Baldness can also lead to male pattern. Balding. It doesn't only affect women, but hair is a big part of how we view ourselves. In terms of how we, you know our self-image right, so I I used all the information that I had learned thanks to other natural leases throughout the years that really talked about things that help them with CCC alopecia, and one of the things I kept coming across Was a rice water well before sorry to cut you off before you get into that one? Let me show people the picture of your mom's hair. How started off so that they can see. Okay, guys bear with me here: okay, so um Shawna. You may not be able to see this. I don't know if you look at your phone, you can see what I have up and again welcome to all who just joined. This is a picture of Sean. Is here if you just joined we're talking about gray hair loss if you're dealing with thinning hair alopecia, I remember a subscriber emailing me saying CCC a and I'm like what is this acronym and then I knew Shauna knew about natural hair and how to help it To grow - and I said that acronym she's, like that's what her head, so if you see from these pictures here, if you could tell us about that Shana, you said it was last year I have the picture up of your mom, so she was having some hair Loss in the crown of her hair and I'm noticing, there's different kinds of alopecia right, there's alopecia that can be traction alopecia from weaves or braids or wigs, and then there's this one like you said, and I'm I'm guessing because those areas deal with a lot of Friction or the lack of circulation, like you, said, the damage so okay, now we can go to the that. You spoke about. Okay, good, tell your momma! She has such an amazing mom guys. I met this beautiful family I'll, give you a quick little backstory. They are a blessing of me having married my husband besides having an amazing big sister who's, my husband's sister. I now have another sister in Shana: their family just took me in as if I was their own, so it's just like really exciting for both of us to be on here. So I think her mom for sharing her story, and I appreciate that you mentioned the different things. Sometimes many come and ask me about the different things with their hair and, like you said, we're not professionals, but it's important to do a an assessment of. What'S going on in your life to see what could be contributing to your thinning hair to your dry hair to hair loss? So, like you said, stress my mom, I remember at the crown of her hair, not crown the nape she. It was just like eating away eating away, and she was that was something similar. It was because of my father's mom, who was sick at the time. So just a lot of stress. So if you're dealing with stress in your life definitely get blood work to make sure there isn't any deficiencies myself, I had some hair loss because of iron, and I didn't know right after I had Isaiah. So, in the same way, I'm glad that you put that out there for people to your hair can tell you a lot about your health and I've even heard that sometimes with premature gray, it can be a warning sign that there's some health issue that's going on. If you get it really early, so just make sure that those are things that you check, in addition to the things that Shawna is going to share here today that helped her mom. I have it up now the rice water picture mm-hm. I used 1 cup of rice, 2 2 cups of liquid, and you could decide that you want to use regular water to silky ricin, but I also did research on green tea, which has wonderful benefits on its own it. So we combined those two and that does seem to be the most immediate effect on her on her hair loss. Okay, so what I did was we soaked one cup of rice to steep green tea? Okay, we just sit overnight and then the next day we just kind of strain that off we add a few essential oils in and I started applying that to her scalp on a daily basis. Okay, it was amazing because just within a week and everyone's body is different, but for her her body was very responsive to that. Okay, I want to ask you, I'm not sure if you could someone said if you could turn your volume up or I'm not sure. If you could go a little closer, I think it was Kenya who told me that, let me know guys if you hear her a little bit better. I tried to make sure that we didn't have the stadium effect. Like the last interview I had so let us know if you could hear us well, I'm waiting to see if what they say and don't worry guys. We'Re gon na have a PDF of all these amazing tips. That Shawna gives I'm gon na have that available tomorrow, because I'm noticing, with my lives, YouTube takes a minute for it to process. So I'm gon na have that information for you guys, as well as we're gon na answer, the questions that you guys have. So please feel free to put the questions in there. Okay, Kenya said no, I'm wondering if it's on my end and here we can hear you but delay. So that was the first thing that we tried was awards rice, water with green tea, and what what I would say for anyone you know once you get your blood work done once you you see what's going on in terms of what's contributing to hair loss, and You decide to try a natural regiment look for natural ingredients that stimulate blood circulation because that's a contributing factor to dyeing hair follicles. You want things to to stimulate blood flow, to help your hair follicle state not only alive but healthy, and things like green tea, things like coffee and then there are also natural herbs. So the first. The first step was the rice water with green tea. But the second one, let me look at my guide here sure hello to everybody who just joined sorry about those technical difficulties, but it looks like it's better now, okay, Kenya said you're good now, thank you guys for the feedback that helps cuz. I want you to hear what she's saying so we talked about rice water. Do you see these are all the great benefits of rice water? Now I want to ask you a question, though Shona when it comes to - and this might be something you guys are wondering what porosity is here. Would you think that makes sense, because I have a condition. You know that translucent kind of tannish color, but it's like a deep black color. Okay, Oh cleric action, that's really going to help to also stimulate hair growth. Okay, okay! So let me just at first I was gon na say we'll. Do the Q & A at the end, but I just want to make sure just in case this is something that you can answer at this part. Like I said hello to everybody who joined someone mentioned that cap caps, I think that's Alice. She says she sprays it on her hair once a day. I don't know if she was asking or if she was saying that's what she does Debra says depending on protein sensitivity. Rice, water is good, but we have to work with. I have to use it. Not so often that's true, and I think it's one of those like necessary evils. I guess you would say that, like you, do need to take it a little bit because add some strength to the hair, especially for the follicles so Martha. I hope your question was answered its. This is a spritz, this rice, water, that you do right, Shawna, because she asked how is it applied right, but if your hair can handle it, I do think that their wonderful benefit. Thank you for saying that. Thank you for saying to remember guys that what we're doing here is sharing information sharing knowledge so that you have tools you don't necessarily have to use all these things that Shawna suggests, but these are resources that you can try and remember, trial and error when it Comes to our hair to see if that can help your hair, and I'm glad you mentioned about protein buildup, because I remember green Beauty, saying a lot of people felt a certain way about rice water, but they don't realize if they don't properly cleanse their hair. Of that rice water afterwards, like you, said it's the build-up that makes their hair, it actually goes reverse and the hair becomes so hard and brittle, which is not what you want so making sure that you don't apply too much exactly so. Okay, Priscilla, you said exactly what does that mean? Let me know what what question you had Andre Andre, how you doin love. She says: how do you apply the rice, water? Yes, it's in a spray bottle. Sheila asks regular or green black tea tints her hair, but chamomile tea doesn't that's another thing when it comes to our gray, hair, okay, okay, okay, great okay, so um! Thank you for that. Sheila and Kenya says what leave-in conditioner do you use or does your mom use, and how does she apply it like? How long does it take to apply and massage? I think she said you answered our question. You said twice a week but um and you apply it just in that area in the middle of a crown. Okay, and then she washes her hair twice a week, but okay, okay. So what? What is your leave-in conditioner that you put together? Is it like a spritz or okay, and what's what's in there cuz guys? The next thing you're going to find out is that Shauna is a chemist and a hair chemist at her kitchen, you're uh. What'S her name? Oh, my goodness, she has a Brandon in Target and she started in her kitchen. What was her name? Oh my gosh. Her brand now wasn't Camille Rose. It was another one. It'S like a yellow and black label. I think her first name is Lisa, but anyway just letting everybody know that you put these things together in your kitchen. So yes, but for those of you that aren't aware of what Amla is it's an ayurvedic herb that really works to strengthen the hair? But what's wonderful about it is it's also conditioning for your hair plant that has not only conditioning and strengthening properties, but it also adds a nice slip stressing in the hair right but conditioning it. So I use all of those things and then, of course I can emulsifying agent that kind of helps the water and oil right right awesome. So now we could get back to your slides a little bit and I remember we said we don't have to stick to them too much, but I know you had some other things there that so I'm on the slide, where you're talking about the team, rinses and Spritzes someone had mentioned chamomile tea, it's one of my favorite supporting overall hair growth and overall hair health. So if you're suffering from hair fall cabinets, it's actually very good. Okay, but she's like metal mm-hmm. Don'T trust me, you can do your own research just to see how many people have suffered from CCC, alopecia, more hair fall and they use metal teeth, rinses or metal spritzers. It works for them. It works for my mom. The other thing that's on. There is stage properties for your hairs and other examples and then rosemary. I also like the fragrance mm-hmm Mary, but rosemary is something that people have been using for centuries right. You know alopecia, so those are just some examples and it's just like making a cup of tea that you would drink, you're, not drinking it right. Your turn, spritzing it onto your scalp. If you find that it's drying mmm for you good job, when you wash your hair, put the tea on, let it sit for about 15-20 minutes, mm-hmm, deep condition, your hair rinse it out and call it a day. Okay, thank you for that. So would you suggest using those with what you with the rice, water or those are just tier Ince's like on their own, like after you, wash your hair, okay, okay, rinses or tea? Spritzers are a great way to get that strength, planet, yeah and to help your hair regrow got it and I'm glad you even gave options which I appreciate so Debra. You said: nettles saw meadow and nettle and Psalm our great DHT blockers, and I mean what is a DHT. I think I know what it is, but like okay, good, I learned something is a good mix. Yeah right, okay, great and um super skin and hair says that Amla is the bomb calm a lot of Indians from India, use it to care for their hair. Now, once we start getting into those herbs that I think that was a question that I had when it came to certain things that I loved using when my hair was darker, but just trying to be careful of staining for now. So in Kenya, Kenya loves marshmallow, root, marshmallow root. Those are my BAE herbs. Marshmallow root. Would you say horse tail slippery elm? Have you tried nature's little secret pre-poo detangler Shawna? I usually used shea moisture conditioner the moisture retention conditioner to detangle my hair before I shampoo, but when I tried that nature's little secret pre-poo detangler, I need it to be a conditioner like the way it is, but just add some more. Oh my gosh, if it felt very water rich, so I felt very moisturizing, which is good. I think you mentioned that in your tips here about hydro fatigue, so we can I'll. Let you get into that. So let me get to your next slide here. The next tip, which is essential oils they're, not just good for stimulating hair growth and combating hair, falling alopecia they're, just relaxing just for stimulating blood circulation in your scalp once again, looking for things key ingredients penetrate the Scout say, helps excuse your hair, follicles alive and Healthy but they're also great, because they're antimicrobial and my favorite thing that I have now is a hair growth, serum and, I add, a lot of essential oils. These are just three examples: okay, okay, onion juice is something that also works very well. I just can't, have you tried it Yeah right, don't want to neglect, mention yeah cuz. It has a high sulfur content too right, which is good, pleasant, yeah. I I didn't realize - or maybe I did and you just helped affirm - that in my little diffuser not diffuser, what do you call that the the bottle the spray bottle? What is the flare assault bottle? I put um rosemary, peppermint and lavender in there and in vanilla. Just for the smell like you said, but I didn't realize that maybe that was also you know: it's like a two-for-one you're moisturizing, your hair, as well as giving your scalp what it needs so that it can maintain as well as help support. You know further growth, but I'm super skin and hair mentioned a good point about DHT. She says it's a sex steroid, meaning it's produced, it's an androgen hormone, so that makes sense as to why, for you know, women, if you have like you said too much of that, then it can affect. These are other things again. That could be showing some things that may be off hormonal e with us and in general, at a certain age, we start to go through a change with hormones. So I think we have to remember that when we're dealing with the gray, sometimes we just focus on okay, I'm not gon na dye. My hair anymore hair be good and it's like it has to repair from all the relaxers. If it was relaxed - or you know all the chemicals and things that we used as well as what is the state of our health that can be affecting you know, all those different things, but, okay, let me see Debra Debra loves, onion and aloe, so Debra. How do you deal with the smell Kenya said it it lingered for her? I guess you find a way to to deal to deal with it and crystal says the: are you Vedic herb ashwagandha taken internally as a tea or capsule or used as a spritz or tea rinse help stop hair loss due to stress in hormonal Changez. I agree. That'S one of the highlights wonderful streets in nature, yeah, yeah, and sometimes it's because I'm definitely going to try these things that you mentioned Eva from my hubby. He may not like that. I put that out there, but you know, like you said it helps for men too, and you don't realize how it's a very basic thing. When you want to grow your hair, I also saw it might have been on green Beauty. If you guys can't tell I love her page, she just breaks down the science of hair, but she talked about inversion like inverting, your hair, because it was interesting what you mentioned about CCCA and how the crown gets the least amount of circulation. So when you invert your head and you go upside down, actually I think it gave you could go on your couch and, like the kids, do just put your feet up against and hang your head. I can't just I can't um demonstrate it for you guys, but basically let your head hang over the bed or maybe hang over the couch so that you can get blood flow to that area and you're. I'M not gon na go until one of the tips that you're gon na mention too that helps we got to get the circulation. We got to get the nutrients there. The blood is the transportation highway to get. You know arm different areas of our body. What it needs? Oh okay, let's get! Thank you! Okay, so tip number four! That'S what we're going to go into! I put that slide. Okay, yes, yes, and especially to I believe, if you have natural hair I've also, you know in general, it's harder for the oil to transfer from the scalp all the way down our hair strand and remember guys when our hair is gray. We have more. It'S more porous and it does tend to get drier, so it's important to massage not only for a scalp growth but to let those oils pass to the rest of the hair. The rest of the hair is like come on. I want some too, but while we're here, why don't you tell us about this beautiful picture and your product here? We know that this is the thing that I enjoy doing and so because I was trying to really find the best oil to help my regrowth, her hair, hmm, I decided people were asking me about it, so I said: okay well I'll, go ahead and put a Hair growth, serum together and it has 16 different herbs and essential oils and carry oils in it. A lot of the herbs that we just talked about, we haven't talked about henna, yet kind of treatments from um, because it strengthens the hair amazing because it just kind of Carly proverbs. It'S like one of those I feel like she's, one of the aggravating she's one of my resources that I'd go to the, but she has a video where she really everybody does okay, where they completely explain how Hannah just filled in the gaps in your cuticles. So when your hair is weak, it just kind of fills that in and strengthens your hair right. Is there a clear henna? I'M sorry I cut you out. Is there a clear henna is cassia. I think: okay, okay, okay, okay, well yeah! I love coming up with this jamaican black castor oil is anything with that. Solberg estimate anything that naturally stimulates blood circulation. Anything that's a natural DHT blocker like you were talking right, yes, yeah! Do you have a bottle right near you of of your hair, Sara? Okay? So you cos showed them what it looks like how big it is, and okay, okay, that's not bad, especially for 16 different oils that you get as opposed to you and it's an infused: okay, six different, essential oils to stimulate blood circulation and to encourage hair growth And hair regrowth - that's awesome. Okay, so people are asking Priscilla asked: how do you purchase it? You can email, oh I didn't put back on. We have here. Let'S talk. Naturally this is Shawna. She does have a page on YouTube and she also has an Instagram. I'M gon na put her information in the description box for you guys, but you can email at. Let'S talk, naturally, okay, once you let me know I make for family and friends and anyone that would like to benefit from it. When the ask do you ship internationally, because she's in Barbados, right, Wendy, awesome - and I also want to let you guys know like I said, I'm gon na put her information in the description box and also we're gon na? Have these slides that Shana and her awesome daughter were able to put together that give all these tips, and you are correct when it comes to the henna or when it comes to silver sisters? We do. We are kind of vigilant with things that can stain our hair, so it's nice to know that, even though you did mention henna and the different things that can help people with alopecia, because I do have some subscribers who aren't fully gray yet maybe they're salt and Pepper and the henna won't be, the henna won't affect them if they're, not grain or maybe if they are graying and they still want to color henna is a good like you said it's good for the hair, but knowing about the rice, water and the herbs and The essential oils there's still a lot of different things that you guys can do beyond making sure you go get that health check-up and make sure that there aren't other internal factors that are affecting your scalp and it really. I know I may get some who say this to me because I remember doing another video about products and they were like that's a lot of steps, and sometimes it can be. You know when you do natural hair compared to relax. There are a bit more steps because our hair is different when it's in its relaxed, I mean natural state as opposed to relaxed, but if this is something that, if you want the rizz similar to, if we want to lose weight, we want to look good. We want to look youthful, there are things that we're gon na have to do so. The results are in the consistency and you know putting in the work and if you're not up to doing that, then you can't necessarily knock it. You know you, you can do what works right for you because remember that's the best way, but these are things that I realize. Even for myself, I was lazy with deep conditioning you know or Scout massages, I'm not as consistent as I would like to be. So I appreciate all these things that you mentioned when it comes to tea. It'S nice to know the essential is, I was already putting in the flare saw. You know helped my scalp growth, but you made such a good point about how so many things that we have already around us. You know besides something you could get at the store. These are things that you can help put together as well as people can get online and you kind of have it in your. You can control, like you said the ingredients, I think somebody said Kenya said she started using fenugreek seeds. That'S another crystal also says she uses hibiscus and she said that that awakens dormant hair follicles are right now crystal coming through Findo Greeks uh helped stimulate. So these are a lot of things that can help now um Kenya said she has sabor, Dharma Titus, so she doesn't use Jamaican black, castor oil. Is there a lighter oil right? Thank you for bringing that out, because my mom - actually, we never saw this before, but all of a sudden after she went natural. We started to see this abord dermatitis issue and it went from her scalp all the way down to her face. So again, I think I think it's also possible when we're switching from either color or relaxer, for there to be a purging even of things happening. Maybe you know that you didn't recognize because you kept putting stuff in your hair that now your body's just like huh cuz, it's it's calmed down. I think she said the Trader Joe's t tringle t tringle, that's it that's it and it has essential oils in it. So it doesn't surprise us why and - and I think it also has peppermint - stimulates the hair follicles, so it goes back to what she said so super skin is hair says she loves. This form. Knowledge is power. I totally agree crystal says: the inversion method has been effective for her. She really likes doing it after aerobics to make it more effective right right. So this is what I was saying when Green Beauty had talked about. That exercise is not just for us to lose weight and to look you know tight and all that stuff exercise is good for our mental health is good for so many things, but it's good for your hair if you're having issues with your hair. Here'S another reason to give us motivation to go out and do a simple walk or exercise we need exercise helps us to sweat out toxins. It helps bring blood and oxygen to a lot of different areas, and it just so it's another good. Another thing to put in your arsenal for hair growth: are you exercising? Are we keeping that blood moving and I'm telling you guys this and maybe I'll, listen to my own words and get out and do a walk? Debra says how she uses the oil she uses. She uses an oil to seal in the onion and aloe vera. She leaves it on for a half an hour and then she rinses it out with a good cleansing shampoo. She says she loves it for her gray, hair, okay, right, yeah, beauty and brains is watching from st. Lucia. I love all the Caribbean who are joining us here. She, her hair, is very thin. She'S 37 45 percent of her hair is gray. I'M so glad you found us too, and if you look at the beginning of this live beauty and brains, you'll see some of the many tips that Shawna gave for helping with hair loss and with alopecia. So again, you guys can purchase a hair growth serum from Shawna, and please put the questions in we're at the question. Part of this live any more questions that you have for Shawna, I'm just looking back. You guys were really coming through with the comments which I appreciate and, if you're enjoying this video, please like and subscribe. If you haven't already and please go check out, let's talk, naturally, you can tell she loves natural hair. She has two daughters who have amazing black hair, so you are a hairdresser, you do your mom's hair, you're, your daughter's hair, that's three heads and then you do your own. That'S a lot yeah! You have to love it. It is if you want to be to have your healthiest head of hair, it's important to learn how to take care very true, and I feel that, as was said, knowledge is power and you even look at the situation where we're all in or were in with Being at home and not being able to go to salons and hairdressers and things, and it's helpful to be able to know how to do your hair now Shawn, I know you used to get your hair straightened a lot right. So what difference did you tell in your hair when you know that? Because when I was blowing out my hair, it was rock city here naturally, but that was because, although for the majority of the time, I was learning right here in natural and it has highlights, I was getting it highlighted nationally and that changed the porosity of my Hair, so I've learned that my hair is naturally high. Porosity is more on the medium high spectrum, completely right things like that. My hair is thicker, it's it's healthier and interesting, because it's becoming clearer the longer. I don't straight it when I straighten it. My curls are looser yeah. That makes sense. I have oily hair, they say I can see that. I can see that. I love your twist outs that you do and it shows that your hair can be heat trained. That'S probably what was happening before and then, like you said, when you think about it, when we color our hair, we do make the porosity go up because of you, especially depending on how light you go so and then I thought to myself when you have gray Hair, it lacks mental melanin. There'S no melanin there so like the highest color that you can go before you get to gray is blonde. So that's why a lot of times people who have blond - or they do that you know hire stripping of the hair deal with more dryness right, and so it makes sense that, when we're gray and we're dealing with that hair that doesn't have melanin, that has an Layer, that's missing in the cuticle that we need to make sure that we give it the moisture and the more moisture. I notice that my hair has the better the more it coils, so that could be the same with your hair, the more moisture and all these things you're, giving it it's getting healthier. So it's quarter-sawed there was some questions. Stop running. Remember Priscilla says: sweating is great for the hair body and skin. Now let me tell you Priscilla. That must mean that my hair is quite healthy, because I sweat, oh and you know, what's so funny, that's one of the reasons why I went natural because I would sweat my relaxer out so now in and even when it came to color when you think about It the more sweat like, especially if you use a semi-permanent it didn't last long, so I agree: that's what can be good for the hair super skin in here says we're worth it. We have to invest in our self-care as women we tend to put others. First. Remember to love yourself too: let's put a clap in the comments for that crystal says. True about hibiscus, she has just a few grades coming in at 41, looking forward to the silver journey. Well, you know what quite a bit crystal so you're gon na be ready. Martha I'm going to give the information you can email Shauna at let's talk, naturally at gmail.com and put in your order for the hair growth, serum and she'll. Give you more information on that nine moon says: diet causes inflammation in the body when you stop chemicals. You begin to see it in your scout, more and in your body as your dye becomes cleaner. That'S interesting because right so then that makes sense nine moons, even when it comes to you know how they say like if they want to check to see how long a drug is in your system they'll take a hair sample. So that's very interesting. That might be one of the last places, maybe that that it uh detoxes or purges. Let'S see questions Janice hello, she said really great information. It'S helping her sift through all the vast info. Priscilla says what deep conditioner should she use on her gray, hair after using Kaling clay or Kaling clay wash. Let me tell you yesterday i washed my hair and i tried the green broody green beauty, protein treatment, the real protein treatment and i don't usually buy things. I'Ve learned or I'm still, learning different ingredients that can tell you if a product, even a shampoo, has some protein in it. If your hair is feeling a little stiff, but I used Baskin blooms Brahmi root mask so I used that I put a little bit in a little Bowl and then I put I didn't measure it. I put like i eyeballed, maybe like a half a teaspoon or maybe a teaspoon of the real protein treatment and my hair. I put a shower cap on, of course, and then my thermal cap, I didn't even heat it up. Cuz I told you I have enough enough heat going on on my scalp and when my hair was done, I was just really surprised. So I like the conditioner from Braun, not bra me from Baskin Bloom. I like white conditioners, Jim and Henry also has a nice thick conditioner that I like also Shea Moisture. I love Shea moistures conditioners. The the my favorite from them is the manuka honey conditioner but like, but that's something good too now. Can somebody put similar to what I did with the real protein treatment? Can they take maybe a little that rice water and put that in their conditioner, I'm gon na try that and see how I, like it cuz. I I've heard so many things about rice, water. All over YouTube and even for your skin, it's awesome. I'Ve tried it for my skin so that I don't know if that answers your question Priscilla we mentioned a couple of different conditioners that that you can use, and I was gon na say something and the thought just said. Let me go to another question and maybe I'll come back to me, but Priscilla said right: okay, okay! So that's what you reminded me, Carol's Daughter, was who I was talking about before who made stuff in her kitchen at first and then now she has like her own line. Somebody mentioned that they had shedding with Carol daughters, products, but again guys. You know trial and errors, see what works for you. That sounds good. Green algae like it might be really good for the hair, so she um Janice asks you Shawna. What steps do you use for your mom's eye and that's what I put on her here? We leave it on for about 15 minutes. I massage that into her scalp wash that off and that's what I'll do the tea rinse before I start. I usually already have that tea ready, okay and we'll use those teas that we talked about earlier and it's cooling at this point I'll, pour that in her hair. Let that sit on her hair for the 15-20 minutes rinse again and then deep condition her hair for about 20 minutes so altogether. It really takes about an hour to have okay Norwalk today, after doing that. After doing that, then I'll just go ahead, massage her scalp with oil, and I use that for about three to five minutes and then I'll put the leave-in conditioner twist her hair up and she's done. She'Ll keep those okay. I hope that answers your question. Janice. Do you do that on a weekly basis for your mom or yeah? Okay, you, you and Ashley are such great daughters. You take great care of your mom and I think that's awesome that you by you doing that that gave you so much knowledge and, like you said you love learning about natural hair, and so now you have the ability to be able to make these things at Home for her - and I forgot what else I was gon na say so - I'm gon na go to the next question. Like my poor brain. Sometimes my brain is like oh okay, no, it's gone Deborah says that she heard that you can boil lemon or orange peel with rice, water, I'm guessing she was trying to say and what yeah it makes sense. It'S kind of like well, not exactly but kind of like getting those oils or those good nutrients that come from the peel of those those fruits. So again, I think it just blows me away and I get excited when I could just take something from my kitchen and I don't necessarily have to go to the store to do something for my hair. Have you ever tried with your mom? I think you have, because I seen it on your channel bananas avocado like different foods like that Yeah right. That was a great option. That'S right, coconut milk. I tried natural 85s method. I think she did yoghurt and apple cider, vinegar or something like that. She did some kind of my hair love the yogurt it literally it's a great detangler and I'm guessing because of the acid, that's in there in the milk - and I guess in a sense, I think she called it like a light protein treatment because of the milk That was in there so Debra says: she's loving this nina Wendy said information overload. Well, this is always here. Whenever you need, you could break it down and, like I said, I'm gon na have the PDF so that you could have it for later. I know you won't be able to you know, remember everything and you guys ask great questions. That'S what I love about these lives and I couldn't wait for this interview because so many have asked me well, how do I get my gray hair to grow? What do I do about thinning and I know some things, but I I love the way that Shawna does her research and you know the proof is in the pudding, her hair, her mom's hair, her daughter's hair, they're, all thriving off of the things that she's been Using so what better you know, person to have on here, beauty and brain says she needs volume too, and for thinning hair. I'M guessing these tips if we probably could just review them, Shana that you mentioned to help with these tips that you gave for hair loss. I'M sure would apply to even thinning hair, because it's basically right, I love that. You said that that's a realistic expectation that these are things that can help your hair. I also wanted to mention, too, when it comes to volume. There'S ways that we who are, who have fine, hair low density hair, can have the illusion of more volume, as opposed to like you guys saw my sister on here and even Shana. They have definitely thicker hair, whereas for me I noticed when I wear my hair and certain style, I have more volume than I do. Another style wash and go gives me way more volume, even though you guys did see me on Monday. My hair was stretched now, while the stretched hair gave me more length. My hair did not like not having gel in it. It got so much more dry, it got drier easier and it it got tangled a lot easier. Ironically, but again, remember guys you do what works for you. There are some who are not. You know who don't rock with job but flaxseed. I know you've done that too. Right, Oh show me. Can we see the consistency? Oh, that's! Awesome. Okay! Okay, that's awesome! So you offer about four products: you have the hair growth, serum, the custard or the, and then you have the tea oil and the dry tea. Okay, awesome! So let's talk naturally at gmail.com. Let her know if you're interested in the products that she makes and she will let you know the prices again and then you guys can figure out. You know the shipping and all, and and all of that - and I know there was a bonus tip - you had here - Shawna no nutritional benefit right, that's just to make a stir, or you know some people have coconut oil and tolerance, black seed oil, neem oil. So really, when you use your, if you decide that you want to use essential oils, which I would strongly recommend, you can't mix a few drops of those essential oil in any of those carrier, oils, okay and for your scalp massagers use it to before. For those of you with natural kinky coily hair, when you want to take your twist out, just put a little bit of that in your head, not bad before unraveling your twist or if you just want to refresh your hair. I like refreshing, my hair with awesome, and I like that you mentioned that because even for myself, I, like coconut oil, is a pre-poo, but not when I'm styling it doesn't. My hair doesn't seem to like after so again. This is how you guys have to you know just go by how your hair responds or your scalp responds, and then I like what you had mentioned about how it can help with hydro fatigue, which is why, when you do it before you shampoo, that can help The amount of moisture that you lose through the cleansing process and, like you, I love clay, washes I actually have been using a lot more shampoo because of my gray, but I'm when I've done. The clay washes my coils love it the most. It'S a it's! A gentler way to to cleanse the hair, but if you want to do just a quick recap of the 5 tips to be able to help with thinning and basically most of the problems that we have a gray, hair drying or the second tip would be to Use tea rinses, if you haven't already tried that or spritzers, especially if you're suffering from thinning or ccc alopecia focused on those problem areas and massage that in you, don't have to rinse it out. But if you find that it's drying by all means feel free to rinse it out after a few minutes, okay, I would be like 10 to 15 minutes, but I personally didn't rinse it out of my mom's hair. Okay, I let it today and it worked wonderfully for her, so hopefully it will work wonderfully for you, okay and the third tip, I believe, was essential oil mm-hmm using essential oils such as lavender, rosemary, peppermint, essential oils. Just a few drops go a long way in your carrier: oil also scalp, massages mm-hmm, doing that. I love that Nina mentioned the inversion method because I feel like if you do scalp massages with the inversion method. That'S like double yes and then, of course, really look into our baby curves. Someone had mentioned some of my favorite already we talked about henna we talked about cassia is the alternative? Ashwagandha Shekhar Chi Rani there's. So many. If you guys research, our Vedic herbs, you'll you'll, find that there's so many herbs out there that are really beneficial for stimulating hair growth, hair, regrowth and also conditioning agents to not just dry clear here, but soften your hair and then using oils for pre clues to Help protect against hydro fatigue, which is like when your hair gets that moisture overload lots of protein. If you used your oils before washing your hair, it helps against that and also using oils. If you can, depending on your hair texture and how your hair takes the oils, you can use it when you know I'm doing your twist outs or your braids outs or anything like that. Thank you so much Shawn. I cannot believe it's already been an hour. We just love talking, if you guys have any last-minute questions, please feel free to put them in now as we wrap up, and if you guys watching this on the replay, please let us know your questions and it was so nice to have you on here. You have a wealth I feel like. I might need to have you back on just to go over there's just so much as you guys could tell with this video. I will have a link up soon. That has the slides for all of the information that Shawna mentioned, because, like Wendy, it's hard with the comments what Wendy met before is I'm hearing so much information. My brain is just like wait. What so, if don't feel overwhelmed? When you see this, please don't think that I'm telling you you have to try all of these things or that Shawna is saying that it's giving you lots of different options. If you try one and maybe you're allergic or one doesn't work, there's plenty of options that you have to help you when it comes to drying with the gray hair, as well as thinning and alopecia, that it results from your mom alone were really great. Let let me get back to that to end off. Thank you guys so much for come on. Okay here it is so look at this guys from here, like just the progression of her hair, starting to come back in and especially when there's stress. I do remember a video from Green Beauty that mentioned that, depending on where you're at with this CCCA, you will have better results. So looking at your mom, this looks definitely like an opportunity where it could go back where, as I think, they said, if you start to see, scarring or maybe like lightness, that that might be a little bit harder. But look at this picture. It just looks like it's balding, I would say: try it before giving us we're so happy that she tried. Yes, it sure is we. You already have Jana Singh part two, so you know you're gon na be back on here again. Maybe we could uh. Maybe we could go into a little bit more depth even about the are you Vedic herbs, but you gave so much to try. I think I'm definitely gon na try the rice, water in conditioner. I'M also gon na try the the tea rinses and see how those go and I'm definitely it's actually. As long as I've been natural, I just started now: learning about Arya Vedic herbs and how good they are. I'M gon na get more consistent with my scalp massages. So sometimes us going over, this can just help remind us of the basic things and, as we said in the beginning, make sure you check how your health is doing too cuz. You don't want to be like well, I use the green tea and I did this and is still not working. You have to look at the state of your health first inside and out and, like you said, the state of your follicles, but this goes to show. I think crystal or one of you, beautiful butterflies, mentioned that we have to invest in ourself, you invest in it now and that hard work will pay off. You'Ll have a beautiful head of hair and, like she said it's not that you use one oil and you just get. You know you remember that gia commercial, but you'll have healthy hair. That'S what the goal is healthy hair that is uniquely yours, not look like mine or Shauna's, but yours and it's beautiful. That is what we promote here for you to love where you are and where you're at so. Thank you so much guys. Hi Kimberly, no worries. You can watch this on the replay. I will be back on live just for this month, I'm doing more lives than usual, trying to take advantage of my hubby being home and watching my son, and then I could have more guests on here. So we'll definitely have Shana back on. You can check out Shauna's YouTube page. Let'S talk naturally as well as her Instagram page. I will put her information in the description. I appreciate all of you guys so much you helped make this live what it is, and I look forward to seeing you guys on the next slide. Thanks again, you're welcome you're. Welcome, alright guys. So we'll see you on the next one. Bye

Michael: I have had androgenetic alopecia since late teens early 20’s. I have tried rogaine, but I am now using Revian red light therapy and Nutrafol vitamins. Thanks for talking about this. After I contracted covid I lost a lot of hair through telegon effluvium- seemed unfair since I had little hair to begin with (covid is no joke) it’s been hard. And with it being gray I am wondering if it looks worse now. I like to try natural things and have tried castor oil. Hair loss impacts our self esteem and it’s so hard to deal with as a woman.

Cathy Steele: Thank you ladies. I am so glad I watched this. I am balding in the same spot as your mom. I will being taking your advice!

Jacque Hanna: Just catching this! Very informative! Wouldn’t the tea rinses make your gray strands yellow ? Us silver foxes don’t have the liberty to use all of those herbs because it stains our hair

N'Ghandi Hede: The causes leading to stress in women can be seen in peripausal, menopausal and post menopausal women ages <35+ ( less than 35 years of age, 35 years of age and over 35 years of age ) and of course hair loss and thinning are signs/symptoms of same. Thank you for education ladies.

Shirley Martin: Wonderful presentation. Sounds like something that I can use. Thank you. But, I'm wondering; where I live there are a lot of minerals in our water. How does hard water contribute to alapasia and to Grey hair? How will your product react with hard watet?

DK Turner: Thank you for the information about the rice water and green tea recipe. My hair is thinning in the same place. I do have an iron deficiency. I'll try rice water.
