Welcome to the video. In this one I challenged Dean Gleeson, who was recently voted the UK's Best Barber to cut my grown out thinning and Balding hair. There were 2 rules to the challenge. No shaved head and no trying to make it look like I had a full head of hair. We wanted to get a cool style out of what I had and I think Dean absolutely did just that. Coining this one the "Baldcafe Double Blend"

#Balding #Barber #Haircut

Guys we're about to get my first haircut in four years from the uk's barber of the year. Okay, people are gon na, be watching this video and be like. What'S this all about yeah, i've grown it out, and i thought well, let's actually do something with it. This time yeah, you know it may be a challenge. I don't know, i don't know how many haircuts you do like this. I mean. Obviously it's short like what do you do with the middle bit? Do you know what i mean, because you can't keep it long? No, that's it! You could go down that route or fading this down into the sides and get rid of the top you've even got to go short on sides to make the transition between the top and sides less or like say, get rid of the top and just open it. And fade it into it: yeah almost like a double fade and see, isn't it and then, like you, take this down yeah and then like fade into that you just like a neat little doughnut base. Yeah there you go, you want to get rid of this completely done. I reckon yourself fail into it. I reckon so not a shaved head, yeah and um. It can't be like. Oh i'm looking like i'm trying to make it look like i've got. No, no! No exactly because, let's be honest, it's past that this is what it looks like before, to see what it looks like after why i wanted to do it. It'S really yeah, like i said, to show that about like getting out of your comfort zone. Of course sure just trying something different, you know just trying something different. I'Ve got a lot of respect for the guys and there are. There are actually quite a few out there. I mean i don't know yeah i mean traditionally it's been like. I guess the older gen in the older generations, who wouldn't want to yeah just should totally have a shaved head yeah, it's the transition from the the darkness. No that's it and it's. If you have blonde hair, it's a lot, not easier. You'Ve got more options with blonde hair because there's not that difference between the shades whereas like. If you look at the side of your head now, yeah the transition between skin and hair is so harsh yeah. That'S what you've got to try and blend out, so this will obviously be faded on the sides yeah, but it's then getting that faded in from the top, because, obviously, when you do the fade, you need room, the bigger area you work with the smoother you can Make the blender yeah yeah the size and then we'll see, see what sort of direction to go in when i started you couldn't just be a barber right. You had to learn women's hair yeah, you know basically, and you learn barbarian as paul as part of the hairdressing qualification right after it's going like years now, but i actually do uh like pattern work in hair, like all these, like all the designs and stuff in Here, like portraits and stuff, so i saw you posted a few yeah. I want to get back into it yeah. I want to get back into it again because this for me, that's like old work, yeah blend of creativity, i'm using a different medium to to actually cut hair to actually create arts on it. Yeah there's a zero at the bottom. You can go shorter. This i'll probably go around after and run mini clippers into the side, yeah a zero one. There two and then i've got ta go half grades in between just to blend that out. So then it's so you go hard like yeah you're, like a big step and then in the busy middle you just feather it together. Exactly so yeah i've definitely had a a much better run, but it's yeah. It'S one of them started saying earlier. It'S all confidence. Really yeah, i mean this. This industry you're set up in the fact that if you start losing your hair, your first instinct is you've got to go, get a transplant, whereas that's not for everyone. That'S yeah! That'S a really interesting thing actually, because i think a lot of guys who cut hair they they, like that's their sort of thing, that's their best advertisement. I guess the hair on their own yeah, that's the biggest hurdle i have with clients in here. Is you almost feel like when you first meet someone you shouldn't mention it, but i've had better results from actually saying you are thinning on top yeah. This is what we can do to help that situation, and they appreciate that more than we send them out going. Oh yeah, it's fine yeah, look in the mirror when they get home and go what is that where's, my hair? If you approach it in the right way, clients definitely appreciate it honestly, a lot more yeah you're trying to give them a confidence boost while they're sitting in the chat. Obviously the whole breaching the topic of like you're thinning out a bit here and you guys are sat there that maybe they know that they're, not they hoping that. You don't say anything and i don't know, maybe there's other guys in the shop and so they're. Just like, oh god, like it's, an embarrassing thing for a lot of people and you've got to have that chat. It'S really awesome. Maybe some people don't want to chat. You, like you, say you don't want to sit in a whole shop, full of people and go yeah. I think my hairline's receiving yeah, because not that anyone would say anything, but that fear is there. I'Ve got someone's going to pull me up on it yeah. I have a quick sipper there and let it go excuse me cheers start to blend out, but this is the the issue area here which i'll take shorter. If you had your hair on top. Obviously this would go into the darkness yeah so, but where you've gone into the darkness and it's light again, this is the strip they end up with. So it's just it's hot me. This is definitely a challenge i feel for oh yeah. Someone comes in with hair like this like genuinely like, because this, if this was fine, now i've got a sweet. I'Ve got a right hand, but it's like what do you do with this? That'S a real question, but yeah we could absolutely plant the hair fibers on there and then okay, it might look sort of decent, but then no one's going yeah, no one's going to be doing that every single day. And then it's like. Do you leave it like this? Not really do you. Of course, i've got a very small clientele label that does yeah, but that's how they've been their whole life. They just they've not gone down the route they're shaving it off if you've got you've, got two options. Now, really you can either i mean obviously you're not going to get a full hairline yeah, but you can strengthen this in the fact that the bits hanging over the front - you can strengthen them a bit or you can just fade it straight off. Then it will sort of look like i'll. Show you it's difficult, but i'll show you what i mean by the the blend through the sides. It'S getting rid of that oh yeah darkness. At the top i mean you can take this even higher. If you wanted to, you can take like the gray too higher to round this off and then it'll be even lighter, but then it goes. It almost goes into just a grown out crop i feel, like we've got to just try the taking that top bit down. Yeah i feel like yeah, it makes sense, it makes sense, yeah yeah, i think well yeah. I think so. I don't know because i've never done it before. But yeah i mean that's the sort of thing you'll do with the fade. You really want to go. As short as it is here yeah, you know, i hope it gets people talking as well yeah, which is what i want. I'Ve got room for the prices bit of shine on the bottom. That'S it the joe rogan shine. I mean he's gone he's full down here. What do you think about um? I don't know how much you seem about a lot of speculation on like people like the rock and that i don't want to use that name too often, because you know shape up because he's got so like no hair. I feel like that, he's probably had it lasered off. You know like, besides that same with dana white yeah. The only reason i would say no is because, if my dad looks like that, like when my brother shaves his hair, you can still see like the fiberglass shadow when my dad shaves his hair. It'S like he's completely skinny. It'S because he's got grey hair right. I would be more inclined to say that they've actually just gone grey yeah. I mean that's so sad at the top, but it's at that point. You can't let it go along any. Otherwise it starts to get a bit wispier yeah. This is what we're talking about again with the shake hair, not sure getting a haircut. This is obviously much more high maintenance. You know than just shaving a lot but listen like i said you got ta try these things yeah and i feel like this is an absolute power move. Yeah there you go. The ball played in a nutshell, yeah literally. The ball played so many great names for the the power donor. It'S not so good one, the toilet seat, he is the society we live in is mental. There are people that are just like hey. This is my hair, so i'm getting cut like this. You know. I say fair play to those people because it takes a lot. It does take some massive balls to have hair like this yeah, especially at like 30. You know like genuinely. It does take a lot of confidence to go out because it's unconventional yeah nowadays it is kind of unconventional, and i like that so kind of how we started the video off where i was saying like. Why am i doing this? That'S part of the reason right. Yeah, i know people are going to watch this video and be like what, if you can get your haircut like this and go out there yeah living life, then you've won yeah. So all that was was a zero at the bottom yeah faded out into skin, with mini clippers in the end, and then we just work through the guards for one up to a three at the top. This is the length at the top here, three just to create that nice blend and then literally flipped it on the top. So the top up here is mini clippers and then coming out to this point goes from a one to a two into a three on the side. So it's just the the double blend, the powdered onion. I like the dough, just like i like the coffee. Now no worries there we go guys here is the finished result. We'Re calling this the the double blend - reverse blend here with d grooming, all of these socials, the shop links and everything down in the description box d, been an absolute pleasure mate. Thank you. So much listen, um, honestly, honestly, it's way better than how i walked in it's clean and it's a double blend and you need confidence to pull this off without a doubt, but i'm liking it guys. Let me know what you think down in the comment section guys thanks for watching i'll see you in that next video goodbye,

Jonathon Griffin: This man DOES NOT MISS ‍♂️ A true pioneer of mens mental health

Greg James Guitar: It looked better faded than the original but I think it's all or nothing. Shaved with a beard all the way

Chris Mann: The thing is, this doesn’t even look bad, if this haircut was a common haircut you wouldn’t even think twice about it. I hope this is the start of a trend. Your a legend mate

usgalsen: I honestly think that is a terrific haircut that is professionally executed. He worked with the available hair and created some remarkable contrast or fade. That should be part of your arsenal. I think style is just what we feel confident wearing, regardless of it may first be perceived. If you're confident wearing any style, people will "perceive" it positively. So it is more about the person's confidence than anything else.

BIg Al: I like it! And I absolutely LOVE his attitude about it all. I'm trying to help my father with this very issue. Since his 20s, he's worn that 70s combover. Since I now have to shave his face and cut his hair, I told him I was going to look at what else he can do. I appreciate this video so much! <3

KB THE WICKED: Your wife being so supportive is amazing man. Love this channel.

Seth Matthews: Interesting that you are showing that bald men still have options for hair styling, as the loss of having an option is what bothers a lot of people. Well done. looks good.

P Wallace: I wonder how it would look if the sides were buzzed into lightning bolts or some other abstract design? It might be fun to experiment with. Ultimately you’d look great with any style!

Nursultan Tulyakbay: Lol the double blend looks ridiculous, but rocking it is automatically level 100 confidence and level 150 swag .

Maxwell Smart: I like it! It definitely takes balls to pull it off with confidence. It gives a balding guy the opportunity to have a great haircut experience at a barbershop - without it being a headshave. Well done!

Stephen Casey: No offense intended at all but I really don't like it. Definitely would be sticking with the fully shaved head, but I appreciate the experiment :)

Diddles 87: That's definitely a brave cut, I feel self conscious after 3 days of not buzzing it. I use the gold trimmers he uses, great set of clippers for a zero buzz, a review from you would be great!

JB: This is so ridiculous yet admirable

Tony Dadá: Rocking the toilet seat haircut

Alex Canion: Y’know what I actually don’t hate it! Personally I’d probably fade it a little lower or less intense so there’s more weight on the sides but this is very intriguing… might just try it myself!

OrangeLupine: It looks good on you mate especially with the beard. I’m getting some Steve Jobs/Keith from the Prodigy vibes! With your help I have really come to terms with my own balding and am really comfortable now with anything between a grade 1 and zero guard and love it! That said I have been tempted to grow it out and see what happens! Thanks always for your inspiration mate

Thomas Vercetti: Lol, it definitely looks better than it did before! Definitely a look with the fit, almost like a wealthy aristocrat who isn’t the least bit concerned by a bald top. This definitely shows confidence, but I think nothing beats the classic, clean head shave with the good ol razor. Definitely grow the beard out more and then blend/fade the beard toward the top by the ears with the classic bald shave!

Paolo Pesare: I think you actually looked good after this cut. Imo for a bald man there should be a golden rule: no turnovers. If you respect that rule everything's fine.

Chad Boprie: Looks great! I have a similar hairline/MPB. I’ve shaved it cleaned, had a buzz cut, and grown it out to see how things look. Right now it’s pretty long on top I feel like I need to do something different and will definitely consider this cut. I know a lot of people say just shave it off and I personally don’t care for the look on myself but think a lot of others can pull it off.

Javier Reyes: It looks good, clean and sharp. I'd definitely rock that look.

Sean Nelson: Dude what a great idea!!! I love how your having so much fun with channel and watching u grow as a host. Thanks for the entertainment and the education.

Haymaker: Tried a similar experiment a couple of weeks ago - I've got less than you on the top so grew it out and just wet shaved the wispies off the top... managed a couple of days wandering around with it to see how I'd feel and it definitely takes a bit of confidence but wasn't as bad as I thought it'd feel (still felt better going back to the full shaved look, though)

ArC74U: it came out incredible! looks good and is a nice alternative to clean shaven

Out of Orbit: Will be interesting to see what its like if you let it grow out for a bit, I find straight after a cut it never looks as good as it does 1-2 weeks in. Beards looking good btw

Paul Zollinger: It’s all right. Maybe a little different, but it looks good. For myself, with a shaved head, I just am so happy to be done with the barbershop routine and expense. Not that I didn’t like my barber, but it’s just one less thing to worry about. Thanks for having the guts to do this.

SigillumSanguis: Definitely worth a try, but the problem with trying a normal haircut at this level of baldness is that the side fades end up giving you a slight Mao look. I think the only way do to it is growing out the middle IF you have enough there.

Brownimation: Power move for sure! I do admire the guys who can rock the donut with confidence. At my age I stick with the shave but I’m trying to get more comfortable with the shadow. I’m quite pale so there’s really no hiding it even with a fresh shave.

Random Essential Productions: Great video! Quality cut, but your DIY buzz/shaves look better for you. I’ve been a blade shaver for years, and based on your earlier video I’ve let it grow out here and there. Got to tell you it’s been good. A quality head+face shave takes me 15-20 mins. It’s nice to skip that and have a second coffee and watch some bald cafe on the days where I want to chill in the morning. Keep the videos coming, and consider broadening the channel. The latest content shows that all gentlemen can appreciate what you do, not just your fellow bald dudes. Thanks

Joshua GC Wong: In one of your recent videos you talked about the hair loss in the shower and I was wondering could you make a video demonstrating how much hair you were losing in the shower each time? Be a good way for guys to tell the difference between normal hair shedding and male pattern hair loss.

Steve says so: One thing I miss about barber visits is that it was one of the only times I had any "me time", which as a guy is pretty infrequent. This cut goes to show that even if you've gone bald fully on top, you can, if you're comfortable with the style, still get that barber experience and fresh feeling of a good hair cut. Great work as always my friend. I'm still shaving (from out chat last year). Steve (the wrestling ref who likes ghosts lol).

Dean Gleeson: Smashed it mate, the double blend is a statement that I really hope catches on. Awesome to meet you, and I’m sure this is just the start of something big

Mark Trerise: To experiment with options someone could try is cool and part of what you do so well on your channel. I thought at some point towards the end you might say, ok let’s just shave it off. Nope, that was legit bro walking out with the cut.

steve young: This double blend is absolutely amazing ! I have done a bit of experimenting myself by shaving my bald spot in back especially and forward as well. This type of style actually highlights and shows off how good male pattern baldness actually looks . I thought I was the only one so I'm glad you're rocking this ! High-5 to you Harry !

Michael Chiaromonte: That looks great! It is a shame hair grows so fast. How nice would it be to keep it just like that for awhile? Before you know it, the day is over. A sleep cycle happens, and when you wake up, it slowly becomes not quite the same. It really does look so great. So different. You must have felt one of a kind. Nobody that you see has that style. Amazing work. Amazing stuff.

Vaultboy 1206: I honestly feel you can rock any hairstyle....ive seen all your videos and you pull off all the looks

Ts M: Been looking for a video like this!! Someone brave enough to do the "real bald fade." Proper, salute to you mate!! Would love for you to get Wes Watson a motivational/fitness youtuber on your channel! He recently shaved his head. Awesome work bruv, keep it up!! CHEERS!

Braedan Camp: Although I do prefer the full head shaved look, I respect this power move. Rock it if you like it; that’s what it’s all about. Great video, Harry

Dahman Beck: Very nice! I will be recommending to my balding clients. Thank you

ERR_LHB: I’m a little tired of shaving and I just feel like getting a short buzz with no guard or a 1. it’s interesting to see how one can experiment a little with what we have.

Ashtone: A very entertaining and interesting video. I prefer a shaved head but I have to admit it looks fresh and looks good on you Harry, you are lucky haha. Nice clothes too

Ben jakes: Cool to try new styles, but I think smooth shave looks best

Star Wars Fury: Well done harry! Top man! You have really inspired me ! Keep up it! You have really helped my confidence and made me feel better about myself

D P: Love this! You gotta use what you got to your advantage. Just because you're bald, doesn't mean you can't get a well groomed cut in whatever form you have! Look at constanza from Seinfeld, he still groomed his! What a legend this guy is! I agree that itl be nice to make this the new norm for bald men! You don't have to skin shave always !

Marco Konec: As an experiment, I think this haircut is great. But I personally liked it better how you had it before the cut. It looked casual and it suited you with the beard and all.

Justice100 forwin: I love it mate, might try it myself. Also you dress really stylish dude. Hints and tips on clothing would be cool too!

joel gheiler: This could work but with a few tweaks. My Barber trims with a zero the balded area (top and crown), a number one on the sides, and fades to the bald spot. I love it. Highly recommend it.

J M: It actually looks decent! It’s just a stigma. Don’t we live in an age of body positivity?

Artemio Torrens III: In my opinion, next time leave the hair on top and cut the side down to about a 1/2 so the transition will be seamless. As a barber, you have enough on top to work with you just have to lighten the side up for the fade to suit your hair growth.

Jason Pacheco: Great video. I think the all shaved head is still way better! I shaved my head back in June and I’m loving it! Guys nobody gives a damn if you rock a bald head! Embracing the bald head or shaved head is true confidence!

Michiel Voetberg: In my opinion it is better, cleaner than the before. Because I was balding for a long time I developed some sort of anxiety for the barbers. Even if I had the balls to get this hairstyle, I wouldn't keep it. Having it all trimmed at a zero would still be my preference. Nice experiment

R S: I think it looks phenomenal! So boss. Love the video! Thanks for posting.

G: The skin fade looks brilliant. If I was balding I would definitely rock that style every now n then

John A: Hit play as fast as I could. Great idea for content, love to see what the best can do when they don't have a lot to work with. Suits you better all gone but love the confidence to give it a try and show us the results.

igor known: He's a great barber u gotta give him that!

Justin Larsen: "As your barber, I advise you to grow it longer. Bleach it, and sport this Hulkamania bandana to tie it all together for a proper all season look."

Rob Horgan: Seems like a lot of time and effort to achieve a look that most of us were trying to avoid in the first place.

Daniel: Haha I actually love this look, I've never seen a fade on a bald head but I like it

Drooskib: Definitely need to have a lot of confidence to pull this off. Fair play. I've recently had to start shaving my head.....forever.

Leonski85: Classic, love that u keep trying these new experiments. Think you should try next a full comb over. That would be epic. Great channel btw.

Bald Bearded: It looks really good. You can be bald, and have style without having to shave it off.

Dee Mo: Finished result is very young Steve Jobs to me haha Definitely looks better than when you went in, but I think the full shave would still be my go to. Haven't quite reached that point, but part of me looks forward to it.

James Jarrett: it looks nice. Perfect for a mature, professional man. It would look awesome with a shape up on the beard.

Gualtiero: I think the real challenge is to walk with this cut cause it’s so unusual

StarLord: It would of been good for you to get him to do one of his famous hair patterns on the side or back of your head and shave the rest. Maybe you could do that another time and showcase that?

CrotalusNM: I assumed I'd hate it, but straight-on, it's surprisingly ok. Not the best, but a cool change of pace!

Richard EVANS: Fantastic channel and helps so many people around the UK struggling with hair loss also barber looks the business in his profession, plym on their way to Wembley will cheer you up mate

Lee Bridgwater: That is a work of art, love it. Big balls too walk it though.

RUSHY 01: interesting style but I think you should've accepted the barbers offer to strengthen the hairline and experiment with what you had on top rather than just shaving it and growing out the sides

Daniel Smith: I like it. It's nice to have different options

Gabriel Tripaldi: I prefer the full shaved head but of course to each their own :)

Mik Dukevich: Yo I got a full head of hair and not much mpb history in my family … but I low-key wanna do this it’s kinda fire, like idk if I could rock the full bald but this is kinda the level of badass I want

RJ Carter: He's a very good barber. I agree. While you're a good looking man, the slick head makes you look much younger than the MPB look (even with the good haircut).

sevren kingery: I’m sure it takes a little getting used to seeing cuz that is VERY different I mean practically a new trendy look for the balding fellas , but it’s actually not that bad. pretty brave to do that honestly cuz nobody ever seen or done that before

E: I'm surprised actually, it looks pretty good ☺️

Paul B: Cool video Harry. It would be interesting for you to go back to him again in the future and get one of those patterned haircuts that he does.

PunkNDisorderlyGamer: The thing with this hairstyle it screams well groomed and an effort was made at looking quite presentable.

Banjo N: I did not go to barber for almost 25 years now. I am a huge fan of Your Youtube work. I like this Lenin Style. I can see You were a little bit unsecure, with new idea, but now You can even enjoy during regular barber visits.

TwoToTwo: I'm just impressed that how easily you make every bald look, Sexyy. ❤️❤️❤️

Ilan Greenwald: I saw this the day you posted it and thought it looked ridiculous. Rewatching it today, I love it.

00SuperGav: I use an epilator to get rid of the stray hairs on top, then just wear the hair in the back and sides like yours here

KB THE WICKED: You should have let it blend into your beard haha! looks great.

Tim Mühlbauer: You should grow the back out and put a knot in it I know someone who has that (he’s also very fashionable) and he honestly absolutely rocks it.

Alex Bermudez: First time seeing a bald head with a fade and idk how to feel at first but then it felt like “okay, this is okay”. Very nice job

Russell Hladky: This looks incredible. Nothing wrong with a horseshoe.

Gary Shuker: Holy f*******k so great im going bald at the crown but have pretty long hair and im seriously after watching this gonna go tomorrow and get this same haircut.. ill let you know how i get on and get pics somehow over to you. great job its a mont haircut. total class

masterdftw: Damn your beard length is on point mate!

Lamby10: Being honest most will look at this and say just shave it all off , great video keep them coming

H I: Fair enough haha. Time for us baldies to modernise the monk cut.

FOCUS YI PLS: wow i expected a doubtful result but this actually suits you rly good

MY FURY LIFE: Looks real good on u. U need a good shaped head to pull this look off. Also, your outfit compliments the haircut.

Baldcafe: The Official "Bald Cafe Double Blend" Is here. Let me know if you’d like a walk and talk, “What I really think” about this cut video

celtic spirit: In all seriousness, the cut makes you look quite handsome and distinguished. You present as a young Dr. Loomis from Halloween. Most Americans love the UK accent and respect the thespians from the UK regardless of hair loss. Best wishes and take care.

ObiWon Kevobi: Omg ahahaha this was funny but it actually looks sick mate! I’m on day 16 of no buzzing my head and I feel nastyyyyyy

Tony A.H: Would never have the balls to do this man hahaha

buzzukfiftythree: Mmm - it was a very good haircut and well executed. But my preference would be zero buzzed and razor shaved.

joshua Fettig: I’m so glad I’m not bald, I love having hair!

devilman2465: Looks great. Very masculine and says your confident unlike all the rest.

djhabibi04: - When he was sat in the chair & they're talking it through: "NO!" - Cut to later when he was stood up all dressed in black looking alpha: "Actually it looks pretty good!"

SpaceGod102: Looks pretty dope to be fair haha. I like the short beard Keep it mate.

Martyn: thats a brave cut, definetly different, its a statement . I feel that if it was common it would look cool, u look like a film star at the end looks sharp
