Growing your hero is a commitment it can take years to do. Your hair is going to look awkward throughout those years and at the end of it there's a chance. You may not even like having long hair. So it begs the question: what is the best Stage to grout your hair? So first things? First, this video is going to be largely influenced by my own personal opinion and experience. So I encourage you to leave your thoughts, your opinions down in the comments section below. Please drop a thumbs up if you enjoy subscribe, if you haven't already, but without further Ado starting with teens, I suppose the biggest barrier to Growing your hair out in your teens are education commitments. I know my school, for example, wouldn't have allowed long hair. So it wasn't until my early 20s that I even started considering growing it out. I also think long hair on a teen is recognized completely differently as long hair on a man, for example, long hair on a teen may look like this, but long hair on a man is recognized as something like this and so moving on to 20s. Personally, this is the time frame. I'D recommend you grout your hair, and it's for several reasons lost your whole. Life should be dedicated to self-exploration you're likely to never come across the amount of flexibility and freedom you have in your 20s, and so, generally speaking, you can commit to the growth stage and your peers. Your family members might not be as critical of it because they know that if there was ever a time to do it, it would be now. Secondly, one in two men will experience significant hair thinning by the time they are 40 and so, by the time, the 30s roll around there's a good chance that your hair's already started. Thinning and long hair is becoming less of an option. Take it from someone who's experienced, hair thinning and continues to experience, hair thinning. I'Ve always wanted to be able to look back at this stage of life and see all the different sort of styles I experimented with, and as soon as I noticed, my hair thinning, I knew long hair was a style that I just hadn't experimented with before. So I think Harry Styles is a great example of someone in their 20s who's experimented with a bunch of different hair. Lengths 30s is a big one. There'S a few notable figures: you've got David Beckham, Gareth, Bale, Jason, Momoa and so naturally might be thinking. 30S is surely the age to grout your hair. However, there are several things to consider. First and foremost, as we mentioned in the last Point, there's a good chance that a lot of us will already have experienced, hair thinning and so long hair becomes less of an option. Second, a lot of these guys are in careers that enable them to endure the growth stage. If, day to day, you're sat in a corporate office as an example rocking up to work each day with a hair band, isn't the best of looks third celebrities, actors, footballers and so on have essentially a limited resource when it comes to their hair. They have access to the best surgeons, doctors, treatments products. Then the list goes on. So whilst these guys can be considered style, icons, there's a good chance. They'Ve had some help along the way. Lastly, 40s Again, David Beckham Brad Pitt, Leonardo DiCaprio choosing to grow your hair out at this stage in life is only available to the lucky few. I think it's a really cool look, especially at that age. David Beckham, long, hair several years ago, was one of the big motivators for me to grab my hair. However, if you're looking to grow your hair out at some point in your life, I wouldn't leave it to Chance by waiting until you're 40.. But that brings this short video to an end. I hope you guys enjoyed if you did a thumbs up is greatly appreciated. Be sure to subscribe, if you haven't already and as mentioned earlier, I'd love to hear your guys's thoughts in the comment section. The odd bit of hair and spoke be sure to follow me on Instagram at lucozade. But until then, I hope to see you all in next week's video take care guys bye,

CriminalFreddys: I’m 20 and I always failed to grow out my hair but I feel like this is the right moment to grow it out

Paul Yao: I'm 56 and I have been growing out my hair for over a year. I'm near the end of my awkward stage. Finally looking good tying up my hair. Love your vids. I'm still learning how to keep my hair healthy and manageable.

Sniper Pro MLG: Luca, you have been an inspiration for me for a long time now. I discovered your channel whilst I was growing out my hair and I was delighted to know that I had started my hair journey around the same time as you! There were many times during the awkward phase where I wanted to cut my hair but I kept going back to your channel for hair inspo. My goal was to grow a man bun and I am safe to say that I have accomplished that. I will be cutting my hair on Saturday and it has been a wild journey. Thank you Luca for the content. You have helped a lot of people.

Lawrence Cameron: 29, started growing my hair out during the pandemic. While my friends and peers somewhat pressured me to not go for it, as short hair as suited me throughout my life, I’m glad I went through with it. A lot of friends and colleagues my age have succumb to balding, I’m one of the lucky few that have maintained a normal hairline and there’s a lot of envy from them in that regard. I miss having short hair at times but I’ve never felt more comfortable and happy with my appearance since growing it out. Your videos have helped motivate me throughout the process, Luca! Keep doing what you’re doing.

João Pedro Dias: I am 17 now. My last hair cut was in January 2020. My hair reaches almost over my chest. People around me tell me that they don't remember how I was without long hair. They always tell me that I look great. But in the last few days (maybe a month), I've been thinking about cutting it, either because I want the feeling of a new hairstyle or because having long hair takes a lot of time and effort (I have to shampoo every day). I never got a maintenance cut, maybe if I do, it will make me enjoy more my long hair.

Jimmy Burress: I’m 58 and started growing my hair out almost a year ago, I currently have the same hair length I had when I was 20 so am in the awkward stage but you have motivated me to continue until I can do a man bun

Steven Wade: 31 years old.. 9 months in. Tried every hairstyle going, feel like everyone has the fade nowadays.. nice to be different.

stimulusrespond: I guess I must be among the lucky few - I started growing my hair out at 39, and am now 42. Your videos are always enjoyable, many thanks. I suppose flattery will get you everywhere (referring of course to the comment about the lucky ability to grow hair out in your 40s!).

Cornelius Ja: In my opinion the best moment to start growing out your hair is right now! (As long as it hasn´t thinned out extremely yet) But it looks good on almost every man and if you don´t like it you can always cut it :)

Mike Mahoney: I would like to put my vote in for the 50 and above crowd. I realize I’m one of the lucky ones for my age, so this isn’t something every guy is going to be able to do or pull off. For my 41 year career I was restricted from growing out my hair due to grooming regulations; 7 years in the USAF with a follow on 34 year career as a commercial pilot. Both these organizations had definite grooming guidelines to include restrictions on both head and facial hair. I’d always wanted to grow out my hair but couldn’t, and I was okay with that; I lived vicariously through those lucky enough to be able to do so. I kept the dream alive biding my time for the day I retired. While I have an established “mature hairline“ (a la DiCaprio), I’ve been blessed with a full head of hair, a younger-than-my-age appearance and I’ve kept, and keep, myself in relatively good physical condition. I’m now living my dream, starting at age 64, when I took early retirement. In September I will have 2 years of growth and my hair is right at 12” in length …the goal is a length sufficient to do some robust up-styles. Yes, my hair’s a bit more “steely” than the dark brown of my youth, but I still have some pepper mixed with that salt. I get very positive comments from friends and folks …some saying I look younger with long hair …but it has been an overall positive and enjoyable experience for me. I enjoy watching your videos Luca and, even as an “Olde Guye” I appreciate your insights into lifestyle issues, choices and challenges. Cheers!

Patrick3183: Just had an inch trim two days ago. Over Two years growth now since the pandemic started. Went from a Cesar cut to just about at my shoulders now. Now it’s a bit shorter but that trim did me good. I’m in my late 30s

giuseppe formisano: hi Luca, I'm almost 14 and I've been growing out my hair for pretty much a year, I'm starting to like how they look but i have a problem, dandruff, I've tried many ways to make it go away or just reduce the problem but nothing seems to really work, what do you think i should do?

ish_wav: I started growing my hair from a completely buzzed head on my 27th birthday. I’m currently 28 and at about 19 months of growth! I can nearly tie it all up!

Saj Arif: I grew mine out for 10 months and finally got a fresh skin taper fade today and 2/3 of the length off. I feel amazing and look 5 years younger. I enjoyed the process of growing out my hair but just lost interest towards the end. Respect to those growing it. It deffo tests your patience

Ty The Sithari: I'm 28. Started growing my hair from totally shaved around a year and a half ago. Awkward stage sucked especially since I started with a long undercut but now that it's getting longer I'm enjoying it a lot more. Tying it back for work or the gym definitely helps.

MA: I started growing out my hair sep/oct 2019 and I went through the awkward growing out phase during the first lockdown. Currently still have long hair and plan to for the next couple of years. I’ve implemented Rosemary oil into my hair care routine to help with abit of thinning/shedding

Sonic2Metro: It really depends on two factors, your pre-disposition to male pattern baldness, and how much you care about your hair. If you have MPB, then growing out your hair is good for another hairstyle or something to try out to make the most of your hair. But how much you care about your hair is another factor. There are some kids that get into the stylish cuts nowadays like braids or man buns and undercuts, but they don’t take care of it, mainly because they didn’t about what it would entail, possibly through how cool it is when its marketed to them. It isn’t like a child couldn’t care for their hair, so that is also to be kept in mind. So with that, if an individual is willing to maintain their hair than any age can work. Especially if you don’t suffer from MPB. It isn’t rare to do so, and it’s an awesome look. It’s pretty cool seeing someone in their 40s or 50s growing their hair out because it’s a distinct look.

outerlegend: I’m 15 and my last major haircut was in October 2021. My awkward stage has gotten less, well, awkward, and the top of my hair length wise can go to the bottom of my lip. The sides and back have some catching up to do, and I did get a trim about a month or two ago. I realized along the way how much patience is required to grow out your hair, but I’m willing to go through the long waiting.

Alejandro Esparza: I really started growing my hair around the beginning of Covid and then just let it go from there. Now way past shoulders and around mid chest. I really like it though I hate the shedding so many hairs around

Mister Llama: I'm 32 and i found your channel a few months ago. The last time i got a haircut was back in February of this year which was a fade and since then, i've been growing out my hair and it's grown a lot, so i think i'm one of the lucky ones who can do this at my age. The length i'm thinking is to where my hair covers my back neck not so much the shoulders. I wonder if i could tie it once it reaches that length...

Javin: I'm about to turn 15 in about 2 months and I started last September. I don't regret starting at all, hell, some of my friends at school didn't even notice that my hair was getting any longer. At the end of the year I showed them my ID (The picture was from before the school year had begun) and they were very surprised!

CINEMA STUDIOS: I can only recommend PRP treatment for prevention of hair thinning. My father and two brothers, one of which is my twin, all suffer from hair thinning and hair loss. I started the treatment when I noticed a lot of hair fall and it stopped it completely as well as maximized the volume. It's definitely pricey and a bit painful but so far worth it!

akxzay: I grew out my hair during the pandemic only because you and I like how it looks on me. But Im facing major hair fall issue for the past few months. So should I go back to short hair?

Thib ault: this is so true having long hair as a teen is completely different because so many people asked me why I was doing it and they all thought they had their word to say, my parents thought they had to give me their permission but like absolutely not the amount of person that judged me just for the length of my hair is actually crazy and ridiculous like its just hair, get a life

Tasnimul Hassan: i first grew my hair when i was 16. grew for 1 year . now i have a buzz cut again . . love your videos luca

Moon Wolf: I’m just getting out of the awkward phase but man I’m starting to miss my short hair. I see my friends rocking buzz cuts, and short hair and it makes me want cut it. I must keep growing because I came this far (8 months now).

Aniket Thakur: Age 15 rn my hair type is wavy it looks very good on me but when I shampoo my hair got very dry . Sometimes my hair become straight and sometimes curly but I mastered both and this helped me alot . I am growing out my hair now but the sideparts irritates me alot.......

Domingo Padilla: I started August 16th 2020 at age 39 from a buzz cut with a low skin fade. (41 now) I was lucky and got to work from home during the pandemic and not have to always show all the awkward phases to the world lol next month will be 2 years of growth. I am fortunately one of the lucky ones and have very full hair. Only maintenance cuts I’ve had are to the back to even my hair out and not rock a mullet lol I’d say I have about 6-9 more months till I’m at goal (mid chest level) Love your videos man! I’ve watched them along this whole journey! Cheers!

The Brick Lord: I had long hair from the ages of 13 to 16 and even though I cut it after 3 years I want to grow it again when I'm in my mid 20's or 30's to see if the style would look different when I'm older

Akash: 17 here, failed to grow hair out 3 times, the longest I went was 7 months, everytime hairloss occured and i lost hairline, can you make a video on things to keep in mind while growing hair out ? Like Supplements - biotin?? Diet How many times to Shampoo How many times Hair oil should be applied And all basic stuffs and also problems you faced while growing such nice hair out ? Thanks :) have a great day.

The Shiver: Had long hair since I was 15, cut it at like 17, regretted it and grew it out again, cut it again at 22 and regretted it and now I'm growing it out AGAIN. Guess I'll never learn..

العربي الوحدوي: God bless you brother. Really enjoy your videos, and you're an inspiration. Have a question, do you think I should even my hair out, my hair from the back is much longer than the sides, since I started growing it out from an undercut. Thank you

Prasham Viraaj: I had shoulder length hair in 8th grade last year since classes were online the entire year but at the end of 8th grade my teacher forced me to cut it so now ive been growing it out over the summer and my new teacher might allow it

HOT: Age 16 rn quarantine helped me growing out my hair(on my akward stage rn) without restrictions

A L: First time at 27 to 29. Would shave the sides and the back to avoid the awkward face. Starting over again. Should’ve done it during lockdown tbh

Liquid Nate: I had hair down to my waist in college. Started in high school. Unfortunately for me, I didn't really start getting facial hair until I was like 25. And so I was sick of getting all these confused looks when I walked into the mens room ha.

Muzahidul Hoque: Me: Starts growing out my hair School: well, that's not allowed in our prestigious institution Me: Drops out of the prestigious institution..

Andy Willis: There are some of us starting late 40s into early 50s growing for The Great Cut 2024 for The Longhairs charity hair collection in spring 2024!

nutmalone: I always think about growing my hair out, but then i remember i am from the middle east and the weather is 38-45°c from the end of may to october and i just say fuck it and end up getting a buzz cut lol, but i do like the buzz cut

Jai Yadav: I grow my hair for almost 1 year but cut Little too much in between so not much but above awkward stage, now I cut them again to grow much good again

Psycho Tech music head: I’m 5 months in and you have helped me a shit ton! I wish I could’ve met you in London!

Reinhartx: Long hair as a teen have some downsides, it’s the ppl thinking I’m a girl sometimes.

Eshan Pachauri: I can't believe that i was just thinking about stopping growing more hairs as im currently attending high school andthis canbet a little stressed out so thank u i will get a hair cut and re continue after a break

Archit Singh: I am 16 but have a receding hairline. Still growing it tho. I guess sometimes life is unfair

Azm1: bro im a teen and i had long hair upto just beneath my shoulder. but recently, my hairfall has accelerated, i honestly dont know what to do tried so many shampoo and conditioner combinations, so many hair products all according to content provided by content creators and the internet. i think its time i give up and maybe i'll just startover again :/

Rob Eaton: First time growing my hair out at 40, and it looks fine. In get a lot of compliments, yet am still looking how to grow it out. This is a stupid generalizing video that discourages everyone except kids to try something new based on a dumb opinion. I know lots of older guys like myself who decided to grow their hair out without taking any real risk. Not to mention older guys are more confident, and don't need someone telling them how cool they are, we're doing it for us..... not others.

Jose Pacheco: I thought you were gonna put your self when you said “long hair on a man looks like this”

Ryan P: Teens is probably the best IMO if you've lost your babyfat. This stage of your life is probably the most dense your hair is going to be, most thick too, post "maturation". You can also be a bit more edgy as a teen and it would be seen as "normal". You also likely have a smaller face as a teen compare to when you're 40 (different people will experience different head growth). And if you were ever to experience thinning or receding, it would likely be super minimal if at all in your teens. Also if you figure it out in your teens that long hair suits you or not, you can spend your 20s (arguably when you're the best looking; people only reference older ages looking better with celebrities or people who put a lot of effort into their looks with age) with the hairstyle that suits you the best.

Liquid Nate: Mid 30s here and I'm going for it!!

Tiny_Tigger_: If girls can have long hair then it shouldn’t be any different for guys

MARJAAVAAN .: I'm 19, I go for it

SIMPATHY: Luca I really enjoy ur work

Chomperone: started when i just turned 15, im a little over 16 now

Kartikey: and then there is Shahrukh khan who grew out his hair when is almost going to be 60 in upcoming years.

Hector Pereira Francisco: Bruh just cut my hair yesterday

Steven dos Santos: Wow. This video reeks of ageism. Let's scare/shame older guys from living their truth. Plenty of young guys with crappy hair. This actually made me unsuscribe!

Timothy Timothy: Luca how old are you?

Ümit Kozan:

Rob Eaton: Did you look at some YouTube statistics that said mostly kids watch your videos? Why would you make a video like this, I imagine a lot of older guys watch your videos, and this is just telling guys not to even try just because you wouldn't try it. It's just a really dumb opinion.
