What'S up beauties, it's lindsay welcome back to my channel and welcome to another episode in hair week today, i'm doing another early 2000's. Look this one's kind of giving me disney channel lizzie mcguire, slash, get a clue, type vibes, but it's super cute and pretty simple as well. So if you want to know how to achieve this, look which i would still rock today in 2020 um keep on watching today's unit is from mellow wigs. This is my first time trying a unit from them and i'm actually pretty pleased with it. As you can see, it does have a body wave texture to it. It'S also a 5x5 lace, closure, wig and i'll talk more about that closure in a minute, but for the hair itself it is really pretty. It is pretty lightweight, though it says it's 150 density, but i feel like it might be like 130 to be honest, but i do still like it and i love the body waves, but since i've done curls and crimps previously, i was like. Let'S do a straight unit today and i actually did a strand i was like. Oh, i forgot my hair primer y'all so as usual grab my eva nyc, hair primer and spray that all over the hair, and then i just went in with my eva nyc straightener, which you guys saw in yesterday's video. I believe now these body waves were in there girl. They were not trying to go anywhere and i was like. Ah, this is the unit i should have curled, because these body waves are a little stubborn, but i did get them straightened out. It took me about 15 minutes about 10-15 minutes to straighten everything, but i really do love the hair straight and i love how silky it is and how it'd be moving. It'S got a little body to it, but let's get into this closure. I don't remember the last time i had a closure wig and if you're familiar with this 5x5 closure, you can only pluck like the front that little front section where the laces and you can't do the sides. So if you're wanting to do like a ponytail or anything where the sides by your ears are going to be up, you can't really do it, because you can't pluck over there, there's like no lace over there to pluck so units like these are typically better for Wanting to just do a simple middle part, a side part you can do a side part with this unit as well. I did go ahead and cut the lace off already and, as you can see, the inside kind of looks like what a u-part wig would look like. So you don't get a lot of wiggle room to mess with it, pluck it or tweeze it or anything like that, but it's cool, so you do get three combs two on the side, one at the bottom, along with the adjustable straps, of course - and i did Go ahead and cut that lace off already like i said, and i just plopped that on my head, what i like about this unit is that it is super super snug. It almost gave me a headache. It'S so snug um but yeah. I do not have to glue this down if you don't want to so to start, i just clipped up the front section and i'm pulling a little bit of the baby hairs down in front of my face. I did find my razor hey girl finally found it. So we're using that just to cut those little baby hairs a little bit and then i wanted to use a new gel today, because i was cleaning out my bathroom and i found this and i was like. Oh, i forgot i had this. This is the shea moisture anti-frizz max hole gel um. I basically have the whole container left still, so i was like let's go ahead and use this one today, so i use this to lay down my baby hairs today, and you know baby hair is my favorite thing right, they're looking all right today, okay, could be Better could be worse, so i'm not mad at it, but you know we just did two little swoops over by the side. I realized i keep doing my swoops like a right where the part is and that's where it just all goes downhill because it just it looks a mess. So we didn't do any swoops up by the part we just left it brushed it back. So i took that clip down and, as you can see, this does have a middle part going on right here, and that is what i plucked like. I said you can do a side part, but i did not pluck that side part. I would have to go in and do a whole replucking session, so we're going to keep it with another middle part. I know this is my third middle part. I'Ve done for hair week, but i'll switch it up next, i promise so this part really requires little to no effort, i'm just taking two little elastic bands and doing two ponytails on each side of my head. Now, with this, you do want to make sure you're holding that section down as flat as possible or get some gel or something because it does want to rise up. I'Ve learned so i had to use a couple extra bobby pins and i still don't think i got it as flat as it could have been so make sure you are using hair products, which is something i didn't do, but i'm letting you know if you want To achieve this, look with a wig use, hair products, so you don't have little bumps or anything in the hair, so one ponytail is up and then we're going to go in and tie elastics around the other ponytail and you can totally leave it like this. I think this is cute, just the two little pigtails like that with the little elastics but y'all know i'm a little extra. So i went to michael's and i got this pink boa. They also have black brown and blue. I think at the time so i did get the black as well. You guys will see that in an upcoming video, but today i wanted to use pink and i just cut two little sections off the boa wrapped them around the ponytails and then bobby pinned them in place. Obviously, there's probably some scrunchies that look very similar to this, but i could not find scrunchies for the life of me. So, that's why i got a boa, but it works just as well once i wrap those two around. I just went in with my scissors and cut a few layers on each side of my hair. Now this unit is 20 inches and i cut it to about 18, maybe 16 to 18 is where i have, it cut, don't forget to bump those ends, and then i also took a little bit more gel and put it where i had a few flyaways in Each ponytail - and that is the final look, so thank you guys so much for watching. I hope you enjoyed it. I will have all of mellow wigs links in the description box below so be sure to check those out.
