How To Style & Slay A Ponytail | Ali Sugar Hair | Jaymes Mansfield

Hi kittens! In this video I am styling two hairstyles in one, I'm showing off a new setting pattern I learned to get that Pamela Anderson centerfold blowout, and I also show you my way to do a bionic ponytail. May this hairstyle bring you more luck than it did me on that cheerleading challenge.

91 James mantle here bring you yet another video now in this video, I'm going to style and build a wig or building style wig. You know what I'm talking about here and I have to give a big thank you to Ali sugar for providing my hair. For me today, this is how I ride and cute little box with, like you, know the Ali sugar Silvernail gal, and they gave me three bundles and a frontal as well as like a little note. So what I'm going to do today is build a wig, and I wanted you, I'm thinking a ponytail two things I haven't done, one of those in a very long time, so we're gon na do a bionic ponytail, very um, like Bratz dolls. You know the Holiday Barbie or something very Ariel Versace fun yeah all together. They sent me a bundle in 24, 24 and 22 and a 20 inch frontal. So it's gon na do really really long. So I want to look really. Fun are gon na Grande kind of ponytail today. So let's get started now. I'M gon na use a sewing machine today and build my wig quick and I'm gon na start with the 24-inch bundles first cuz. I want to be very, very long. Ask the breeze, through the making of process for you today, because I honestly have another video, where I go more in depth on how to sew on a sewing machine, so I'll just link that down below alrighty. Now, I'm gon na start suing this wig. Let'S get started okay, so we're just gon na start. With this we are machine selling, all our tracks onto a wig cap. I'Ve done a video already where I got into more detail about how I do this. Yes, I am doing this in full drag. So I just saw that frontal cap onto the cap and we are good to go, welcome back. This is her all sewn up holy crap. This thing is long: let's show you, this is 24 inches but looks even longer. Now I have at the very bottom, because that was my method around my madness. I wanted the longest length at the very bottom that way makes the hair even longer. This is probably the longest hair I've ever owned. Unexcited now, let's start styling it okay, so I have an idea in mind of what I want to do with her. What we're gon na do is we're gon na. Do I call the Pamela Anderson Roller set. I learned this actually from watching Trisha Paytas of all people, her hair and makeup artist. His name was like Adam Lee Simmons or something sexy as all get-out. Let me just tell you that right now, but now he was doing this Roller set, and I tried it. A couple of wigs like this one, it actually turns out really really pretty so we're gon na do that today, but instead of the hairstyle I have on already, because you already see what that looks like. I am going to do like a high ponytail and I'm using wire mesh jumbo rollers. I got these from bobby pins calm. You can get them online as well, but bobby has a whole bunch of different range of, like you know, rollers, so I just went from there because I know he's a reliable source, and sometimes it can't really trust the stuff you get from Amazon or online. Now, with the Jumbo rollers, the one sort of catch with it is, you have to be very, very careful on where you pin it and you have to make sure the pin is piercing through the roller and into the head, because it's very little spacing there and They'Ll fly right out if you bump it hard or anything or if it's not in there, secure enough they'll just fall right out, and it's gon na be a real pain in the back and for this set. What I like about it is that you can kind of pull indiscriminately. You don't have to really worry about it being too, even because it's supposed to be more messy yeah make sure that pin is really solid in there, because there's only like half an inch there. Holding it inside of the head, so we got ta kind of careful about this yeah. I want Sauveur more sexy, loose wave effects from this, so I'm not going for like that super strict. You know, in line with each other finger wave kind of pattern where you have to be sure you're all aligned, that's only get as close as you can with it cuz. This is supposed to be more of a messy style. She'S supposed to have, you know, bedroom hair, but what I am making sure I do is making sure that the rollers are pointed upward. How I usually do it, you know to create volume, because I don't want to be flat against my head, especially for me like I, you guys know this already. I need the extra volume it helps me out and see if you have some spillover like that. Just take another pin and just tuck it on over there and make sure it's. You know cream like a little gate to keep that hair together. It'S sort of like what I call it a faux blowout because we're doing like all the steps well regular blowout. But it's more of like a theory, drag version, we're not you know doing it on somebody's head, and I want this hairstyle to hold up for a few where's. Not just you know a few hours very trish stratus is like the hairstyle, we're going for that 90's blonde bombshell, guest jeans model kind of blowout hair and, if you're wondering where queens of the ring has been on my channel well, I've started a new YouTube channel Called Queens of the stream me and Sylvia are gon na, be doing everything from wrestling to whatever really piques our interest. You know so be sure and subscribe to that channel. Okay and here's the thing you don't want to happen. It shouldn't look like this roller. This is a bad roll, I'm gon na re-roll that right now we want to be more tight and that's what happens when the pan gets in there very loosely like the pins, not holding it where it should be, and also I got a lot of hair with These bundles, so I'm trying my best to like get this hair tightly wrapped in there there's just so much out of it. Alright, she is all rolled up now. Let me get my steamer warmed up we're gon na steam it and since there's a lot longer, I'm gon na hold it under the steam for a little longer as well, like I'm gon na, probably keep it under here for about six to seven minutes. Until it's burning hot to the touch and we're gon na do the same thing for the wig of and where we keep it in there for a lot longer, since the length is a lot longer alright, and what I'm doing is I'm working from the very bottom Rollers and working all the way up, like I heat those make sure those are hot and then pop up to the next row and then the next row, and then the tippy tippy top looks just like Lady Gaga, an American Horror Story, hotel like when she's laying On the bed with that dead guy, very that all right and I'm gon na steam, this wig off of camera and also put it in the wig of an aqua camera. If you want more videos and how I do this more in depth, ly I'll link them down below welcome back, it is all steamed and heat set from the wick oven. So I'm gon na take the curls down and we're see how they came out. Now I'm a little bit nervous because the hair is a lot longer than what I'm used to using but think it'll work. I'M pretty confident it's only a few inches longer than what I usually do. Oh there we go. That'S a fun springy curl, it's a more of a loose curl. I didn't want, like you a full finger wave, because it's not what I'm going for it's supposed to be like a sexy nineties way. You wan na look like you're gon na run on the beaches of Baywatch or you know, pose, and the pages of Playboy I've always loved like these 90s blowout hairstyles that playmates used to have like all the guest models, would have them like a Nicole Smith. Pamela Anderson, they always have these big. Like massive, you know overly quaffed hairdos that were messy but neat at the same time, and as I take the roller out, I just kind of like let the curl fall where it wants. You know and see, look at that as they dragged me brush through it. It'S not like a full-on like overly done finger wave. I just wanted like a loose. You know body wave to it and when you get to the bottom, you can just flip it around. With your finger, it's like you know, encourage the curl at the end and just look at that. Girl drag my brush through the top of it and flick and see if I was just trying to do the hairstyle I have on right now. I would honestly just tease the top of this and then we'd be done, but we're not gon na do that. Today, we're gon na go a little extra and we're gon na tease her out into a different hairstyle, using what we've just used the setting pattern. But if you ever wanted, you know that Playboy Playmate, look, that's how you do it. I love hair like this. It'S just sexy a little bit of backcombing, and this is where we're gon na have a little more structure, because the hair - still I want to do - requires us to be a little more thorough. Okay, I'm just gon na get a little more volume so that it fits with my proportion of the head. You could, of course, do this with minimal teasing or no teasing at all. It'S completely up to your own discretion, but for my head size, it'll be a lot more flattering. If it's just a little more dense, I'm going to leave it like that. We'Re gon na French lace, it cuz it's human hair. It does not need it unless it's growing out of your head and you know you're gon na get it back. I wouldn't recommend French lace and human hair. Yes, we're gon na look just like Pamela Anderson and VIP Wow. Here'S what we're gon na do now. We are going to take the section here in the frontal that we tee, so that's all I was teasing. I bring it upwards to center of the head and weird create sort of a high pony. You can pull it loosely like that and we're gon na. Take our smoothing brush and we're gon na smooth it upward and just let that brush go all the way through get good footing and just guide it over and, like I showed you before with this, I just use it like that. I started on top of it and I and lit as it goes up and I let it go through all the way through the hair and you'll get a smooth brush out that way and the size of the bouffant inside the pony tail. It'S completely up to your own discretion. You could really jack it up and get like the big. You know: aerial, Versace, bouffant beehive, one with the pony tails hopper or you can be a little more subtle with it. It'S completely your own taste and all that changes is just the amount of teasing you put in and taking a ponytail holder. I'M gon na take one out, and I kind of twist it here at the top just to get together a little more tightly and I'm gon na tie it a little loosely. It'S not gon na be too tight because I'm doing a lot more work around it. I just want to keep this hair out of the way, but our finished section on the front will look just like that, but we're gon na throw that ponytail forward and we're gon na start working on the back now. The back is where it gets a little bit tricky, but not that much now this part is optional. I'M gon na take a bump, like I showed you in my previous human hair videos. This is a synthetic ponytail that I cut and curled and put layers into. I use the same curling pattern that I did here with the rollers, so it's when you blend in with this to add a bit more volume to the back without having to do too much intense teasing to this part. Not the only downside is this one will not match as much as this one cuz. This is brand-new from the box. So when it comes from the factory, that's hand tied there, the hair yellows a bit more because you know it's just freshly bleached. But if you use a purple, shampoo that'll tone the hair to match this color cuz. That'S what happened with this human hair. It was yellow from Amazon, I wash it with purple shampoo, and now it's like you know, platinum. So before you do any styling with human hair, you always want to wash it beforehand. If that's really the, like, you know, result you want, but some weeks actually match this color. So it's really up to your own taste yeah. I'M just gon na smooth this out for now, because we're gon na use this, for is to add a bit more body to the ponytail and where I brush it out is I brush and I twist there you get sort of that kind of effect. All right set that aside for now, let's start the back section, the way I'm teasing this down, it's gon na look a bit like a mane. I just flip it forward like that get out of the way and just going on a straight line and a rounded motion remember when you're teasing for volume always angle upward with a tight grip and let the hair slowly slip through your fingers as you Jack it Out and I'm not gon na tease the whole way because I still want to have volume and a length. Okay, I think that's good, let's flip our hair back over and where I keep the ponytail out still, and it should look like that taking our ponytail piece, I'm gon na take this and I didn't pin it down here. So we have this space here. I'Ll. Take the clip and clip it inward and that's gon na add a lot more volume on top of that as well, and we, I think, bobby pins and start pinning that in but make sure not to grab hair from this section, make sure it's only in this Section here where the ponytail pieces and the back section of the hair okay, now take up this bobby, pin and connect it to that in the center of the head and keeping that hair out of the way. For now we're gon na go in with our smoothing brush and blend all of this teasing section together now in real life, it's not the perfect match, but on camera it actually kind of matches. I know it's gon na blend. These together, like I said, start Center and curve it down and go all the way through the hair, I'm going with my hands and just pushing it up now, I'm gon na go with the end of a rat tail comb and pick it up more and since I ratted out this blonde ponytail piece, it's synthetic, so I don't care if I damage that hair enough, but with the human hair I want to protect it. You know you want to keep it. Looking nice, okay, hair spray, do the front first and we're gon na. Try and get that smooth down again with this portion with the little top gather here, you're, probably gon, na, adjust it on your head afterwards as well, because everyone's head is different. Like I said so, you could untie this. Let'S loosely tied just retie it tighter on your head, so it fits your proportions. We'Re going to take this top ponytail here after this is nice and hard we're going to break it up and let it kind of flow around. Personally, I like to have it sort of spread out more and look like it's a part of this ponytail piece here and go through the ends at the comb and flick it out. So it kind of like flicks out with the rest of the hair excited cuz. I feel like it's such like a holiday barbie kind of hairstyle, alright, and if you want to cover up the black rubber band, you could either take some hair from the ponytail piece and wrap it around or use a bow, which is what I'm gon na do. Today, but to keep it from still and from bouncing around I'm taking a couple bobby pins, just tuck them in this way to keep that part still look who's ready for the pom squad. She'S cute lots of length, lots of volume and body different curls going here and there yeah that's the final result. I'M gon na go, try it on and I'll be right back. Welcome back. This is the final result. Oh my god. I love it. Look who's! 30. Videos in two years too late for that cheerleading challenge. I love it. Oh my god, thank you so much Ally sugar for sending me this fabulous hair work with today. It is so long. You guys are even know like check it all the way down. My back like it almost touches my butt. If I pull it out all the way, it's fantastic, I'm so thrilled like do some cartwheels in this hair. Well, I'm not cartwheels, like maybe some basket rolls, but this is the final result. It is a very cutesy like pom squad meats like Holiday, Barbie kind of hairstyle, and you could absolutely do this on a synthetic wig or with even curlier hair as well. The hair was an absolute dream to work with. So, if you'd like to try this out on your own with the same kind of hair, be sure and click the links down below and check out, Alli sugar, it's fantabulous! I can't wait to take all this teasing out and wash this hair so get the nice and platinum blonde and don't forget to Like comment and subscribe, and I do have a brand new YouTube channel Queens of the stream. Come Play With Phoebe: Live for these videos Jaymes. Hope your YouTube is growing as its epic.

Aziza Nadia Razanti: Dear Jaymes, I wonder which one is more economic: make your own wig by sewing the wefts yourself or just buy a pre-made wig? Which one do you prefer in terms of versatility? Love your video as always, keep on churning that content :D

Marie Laveau: I just love you. You are the icing on the cake. I’ve spent the last couple of years learning makeup from drag queens. I know absolutely nothing about wigs. theswisswereright: Your look today is just super flattering! I know nothing about wigs, but these videos cheer me up a lot. Your bubbly personality is an instant mood lifter. This video was also a cool change of pace from the wigs made of sadness and orphan tears. Your channel is so much fun!

Craig Callaghan: Absolutely love your videos. I recently done a Britney and shaved my hair off. I'm now making a wig to wear at home so I can still do fierce hair flips when I'm dancing. You're videos are helping so much.

I think the longest hand tied HH wig CMC sold, was 20 inches (back in the 80s), but the hair at the crown was about four inches longer, so WOOOOOOHOO, Sieglinda and Brunhilda could burn down Valhalla in style! This was for the Ring Cycle with the flying horses and the world record holding largest intentional indoor fire! I made their armor and fireproofed everyone, too!

robesticles: You were amazing on Let's have a Kiki with the Movie Bitches! Can't wait to see you become a frequent collaborator!

Sister Indica: I went to Cosmetology school back in the 90's. I've already learned more about the "why" of everything from watching your videos than I did in school. You'd be an amazing teacher!

Jeffy weffy: Can you do a tutorial on how to dye a wig, synthetic and human hair?

Lars Stoerloes: I'm sorry to be a nagging nancy, but could we please have more Idol Worship videos? Those are so fun and informative, and I think they teach a lot about drag and gay culture, without necessarily being drag tutorials. More accessible, you know? :)

Rasmus Mogensen: I'm kinda thinkin', if you want a long, long ponytail, would it not be better to put the longest hair on top of the wig?

Lameashellcosplay: I could watch you talk about wigs for hours.

Alisa Rincon: This is my favorite look of James'

MommyOfZ&L: Hey Jaymes, love you so much. Can I offer one critique (constructive, I hope) of the video, not the hair? I personally find it kind of irritating when the ad cuts into the middle of a sentence especially cutting into a word. I'm actually more likely to skip the ad to get back into my spot in the video, if you could possibly do something to adjust the placement of the ads, like my favorite inhabitants of Fabulous Cunt Island, the Movie Bitches, I would be so much more likely not to skip the ads. Even if you don't film an ad outro and then a welcome back post ad intro like they do, just placing the ad(s) in a more natural pause point would be so great! I'm sure Avaryl would help you if it's not a feature you're familiar with. BTW, I just watched the pod cast you joined them for on Sunset Boulevard yesterday. Loved it!

Vania Orozco: Get this woman to all stars

Jonathan: You are so ready for All stars ❤️❤️❤️

Suzanne Martinez: Love your hair today.

Christopher Bolanos: Omg that Nina sticker is so cute. True best friend

Vanessa Torrado: Love her

linux750: From now on, whenever I see Gabriel Iglesias (Fluffy) do an impression of a woman, I'm going to think of this "lady."

sjokomelk: Who is this young and beautiful woman styling wigs? :-D

Tyler Stone: Bitch you look so good in this video!

Neko Meeko: ❤️LOVE YOUR VIDEOS CUTE AS❤️ ALWAYS

Camille D Perez PLLC: Omg you are too adorbs!!!

Maria Duszak: Ok, but how do I remove the pins from my skull? Tweezers don't seem to work....(just kidding, a bad dad joke) Also, where do You and dear folks in the comment sections, get synthetic hair for wigmaking? All I can find is synthetic hair for braiding, will it do or should I lookfor something else? Ideally I want to purchase Kanekalon fiber but the company that makes them doesnt seem to have retail site, only for wholesalers.

Matthew Maduli: Im living for this Gaga, Donatella hair!!

Marie Laveau: Yes. A wig oven? Could you show us that?

Tarrare Zekori: You're rocking flat hair!
