What'S good everybody, if you are anything like me, then you probably spend way too much time scrolling through tick tock. But if you're not like me, then i'm going to show you what you've been missing. There'S a lot of funky tips and tricks on tiktok, including some very viral trends, and we're going to talk about why these trends are so popular. What you should know about things like the aztec clay, hair mask that is bringing back curls the one minute mullet aka. Wolf cut, that is just it's everyone's current diy haircut, heatless curls with with the things and, if they're, going to work on curly hair, like mine, rosemary oil, for hair growth, how to know if your hair is actually curly, the tea behind sulfates and silicones, and more So we have got a lot to watch from hair talk and curl talk, and if you are new to watching me, then hi - i am your main girl mel. I am also on tik tok at maze by mel. But, most importantly, i am a professional hair. Stylist, a curly hair specialist and a huge hair nerd, and i cannot wait to debunk some of these crazy things so without further ado, we're going to get into the thick of it and so much more. Let us begin with the natural diy hair treatment that is being done to revive hair. I'M talking about the aztec clay mask also known as the indian healing mask. It is a mask that is 100 percent, calcium bentonite clay. This product is natural. It is derived from volcanic ash, that is in water, that is derived and then sun, dried and before we get into it, let's roll the clip, i'm fine, i'm fine, i'm gon na be okay, okay for reference. This is what it looked like before this is it. After now, as you can see from some of the before and afters, the results here are crazy and for a long time i thought you were crazy to put this stuff on your head, because i have used this on my face before, as it is traditionally meant. As a facial product - and it was just way too a little bit too drying and harsh for my skin, and so when i saw people were putting it on their hair, i said: do you boo-boo, but in order to give a true review, i did try it Out for you and here's how it went, and i have a lot of product build up - i've been noticing my hair has been acting a little bit weird and that's exactly when it is said to use the aztec healing clay mask typically for your face with healing Properties for your hairs, plastic, not metallic, if you're wondering. Why is this happening? Clay is a very absorbent material, and so it is going to help to lift and draw out any build up from products. Mineral buildup, all that nasty stuff out from your hair and the reason why your hair can look so revived afterwards is because it's not being weighed down by all of this buildup distilled water. Here i don't want any minerals. I don't want anything disrupting the mixture. I do need to debunk the fact that some websites say it is a natural way to add moisture. But if you're expecting this to give moisture to your hair, you will be let down, because this is not adding anything to your hair. It is removing from your hair, leaving you with a clean canvas to then condition making your conditioners work better because they can actually get to where they need to be without any disturbances. So i mean that part is kind of half true and hey, maybe for you it left your hair feeling soft and moisturized, but my hair fell hella dry. It'S now dry dry literally, it feels so crispy. So i'm gon na go wash it out when washing out the aztec clay you're, not technically supposed to use shampoo because it already is clarifying, but in order to rinse it properly, do use warm water and uh high pressure. It feels like it desperately needs conditioner. On the other half of my head, i am going to use my favorite clarifying shampoo that i regularly use and then i'll compare the side by side. I am a huge fan of you using what works for you and to all of those that it worked for. My hair is naturally dry because it is high porosity, it's color treated bleached, it's done the things, and so in high porosity hair. That, naturally has a rougher cuticle. Your hair may feel even rougher right after this treatment, because it's going to absorb a lot of those smoothing products that we layer on our hair to make it look nice and silky. So i'm gon na get a little co-wash in with a very moisturizing cleanse, just to make sure for sure everything is out and then deep condition truly on the bright side. Is it doesn't it's not? It doesn't appear to be breaking off now they feel the same, but really, i would just stick to doing regular, clarifying shampoos. It cuts the time in a quarter also um. I am quite concerned about the regular use of this being washed down the drain. The pipes there's enough hair down there already. I don't need anything else getting stuck down there. So, as always, if you are going to use this as a clarifying treatment and after all, clarifying treatments, make sure that you properly condition, but this does work moving on next, we have the hot and trending one minute mullet trend, one minute mullet, which is really not A true mullet, okay, but this diy haircut, that is known as the wolf cut, has taken everyone by storm and yes, it can look absolutely beautiful on curls i mean just see for yourself roll the clip. So no one actually asked for this, but i'm going to show you guys what my hair looks like. So this is the front, obviously the side, the back the side again and then the front also wanted to add on that. This trim is actually made for clear. So don't be scared if you have textured or curly hair, it's going to turn out so good. That is if the results you are going for is layered weight, removal, shaggy, flowy, and i guess you could say a little bit moldy. Is this cut going to be right for you, especially if your hair is curly, because, ironically enough, this cut is very similar to the unicorn haircut that a lot of curly girls have already been doing, especially on long hair, but not advised for short hair, especially if You'Re not looking to have a mullet. In fact, i created a whole alternate diy haircut, known as the pigtails haircut, so that you could still layer mid-length to shorter curly hair without getting a mullet. Just take a look at this visual. I included in that video. So here we are, i'm going to place another little elastic where it would be cut, i'm actually not going to cut it. I'M going to color it, though, to show you what it would look like. So i'm going to apply some hair makeup and i'm going to apply it in ruby red, because red means no red means stop. So now that we have this visual everything, that's red is what would have been cut off. You can see. Most of the length would have been taken off my bang section, which happens to be the tightest curliest part of my head, as well as already the shortest part and proving my points that it would be a literal mullet, a short party in the front. But in the back, oh lord, lord, had i cut my hair the unicorn way my hair would be cut in all the wrong places, because i wasn't taking into consideration my hair length where i wanted my layers to sit and my curl pattern. So this would have been a nightmare, and this tutorial is not going to give you a mullet. It will give you a wolf cut and my greatest tip for you. If you are going to try, it out is always start slow before cutting so much and try not to cut so blunt, especially if your hair is a little bit more on the straight wavy side. Point cut into your ponytail for just really soft layers that look great. They look great on everyone. You know what doesn't look great on everyone, those freaking god forsaken, heatless curls. You know the ones i'm talking about these ones, the ones with the girls with the shiny hair, using it and just oh, the envy. Every time i watch these videos, i always thought wow. I could never, but i had a lot of you in my dms like mel, could these heatless curls work on curly hair, but i can't speak from inexperience and i wanted to give you some tips so, if you're going to try it out well roll the clip, If you want your hair to dry at all in this eternity, you want to start on damp hair. I have just been letting my hair air dry and squeezing out moisture with my microfiber towel. Now i absolutely do need to spray in or just apply some kind of leave-in conditioner. So that's what i'm doing. If i don't, i will be a frizzy here's. The thing, though i can't do this on slightly damp hair. Like my slightly damp hair, it will be too set in a curl, so it needs to be decently damp because you want to make sure that you are truly smoothing out any kinks and curls and frizz and everything that's naturally in your hair. While you are wrapping same thing with doing like a braid out, i'd be lying. If i didn't say that this is looking promising right off of the back, it's just that this is going to take about three to six to twelve hours to completely dry and it's the patience for me. It'S gon na be absolutely key for me to wait for this to dry completely, so that only took me 20 minutes, but that's like me talking in between 2 000 years later, i think we're finally dry. I put makeup on low expectations. Let'S unravel, shall we let's try separating, i might have messed up. I was doing great until just now, uh should have waited a little longer. This is your your lesson that if you think it's dry and you're ready to take it out, wait again, but let's just really thought it was dry okay, so i definitely messed up. I thought it was dry, obviously wasn't so this this isn't the full effect. However, although it's cool - and it might be a good technique for more wavys or even a little bit - looser curly, i don't believe it's going to work. For me, i mean it'll, never look that silky on the bright side. I got this really cute. Look out of it yeah. This was the results from the braids that i had done to save the disaster. It all works out. Style is an attitude okay, anyways moving on next, i want to talk about a trend that really hits home, especially for a lot of people that are struggling with hair loss and are looking for hair growth solutions. These types of videos always go viral, because people want answers and they want things that are going to work. Rosemary oil seems to be the latest trend, there's a lot of people talking about using rosemary water and applying that to the scalp rosemary, essential oil. What are the claims here? Let'S talk about it rosemary essential oil has shown to have antibacterial and anti-fungal properties, and it is said, to help improve circulation and even promote nerve growth. There have been a few studies done to look at the effects of rosemary oil on the hair and scalp for hair growth. Most of them were done on lice, and it was also compared to the only proven topical drug for hair growth, which is minoxidil also known as rogaine. Now i am not a doctor, but dr dre also found here on youtube is, and she actually made a tick tock about this as well roll. The clip. Have you heard the news rosemary oil suddenly can grow hair well turns out. There is a single blinded study that shows that rosemary oil is as effective as two percent minoxidil ointment for those suffering from androgenetic alopecia. It'S thought to work by increasing microcapillary perfusion in the scalp side. Effects may include scalp irritation and contact dermatitis. So, in short, is there any harm to using rosemary oil, not necessarily, unless you're using it wrong? Remember that anytime, you are applying an essential oil to your skin. You cannot apply it on its own. You have to add it to a carrier. Oil, like sweet almond oil, jojoba oil, a skin friendly oil that isn't at such a high concentration as the essential oil would be. It only takes a couple drops so you safely and if you have been using rosemary oil drop your results below. So we can see what the community says as well. Getting back to curly hair. There is a massively trending sound. The sound has thousands of uses, and the original video has 20.8 million views, 20 million. Through all the time. My whole life i've been brushing through my hair, like this and tick. Tock is making me realize that i think i actually have curly hair. So i'm going to wash my hair with these see the product she's using we're going to talk about sulfates and silicones next and then i'm only gon na brush my hair in the shower. When i have the conditioner on okay, my hair is soaking wet and i'm gon na put some of this in it. So this product is an oil. I actually really like this product as a serum as a finishing product once my hair is already done in this clip she's applying this on her wet hair, which isn't going to do much for the curls without a hydrating cream. Underneath this is an emollient occlusive oil. Serum now i'm going to try and plop it. Ah, yes, the plop, very unfortunate name. It'S only been like an hour, but it's giving me a headache. So i'm gon na take it out. It'S that moment of realization that holy crap, when you don't fight the hair and you actually work with it magical things happen. I wish that there wasn't so much negativity in some of the comment sections of these videos, because people are saying you know if you have to do that, much to get your hair to do that, then it's not real. It'S not natural curls. It'S not curly. Do not listen to any of those negative nancies if there is bend in your hair. That is texture! Welcome to the textured hair family uh. If you are new here - and you haven't already subscribe to me and you can watch my full youtube, video that me and my sister did with my cousins - to see the straight hair to naturally wavy hair transformation for more tips and tricks. Now there is a video that honestly triggered my fight or flight it. It left me upset and angry, because i had my followers and subscribers tagging me asking me if this is true, no hate to this creator, we're going to just roll the clip, see what she has to say and speak about it. If your curls look like this, or maybe they look like this - or maybe they look like this - or maybe they look like this - or maybe they even look like this, if your curls look like this this or this stop scrunching, it messes up your curl integrity and You'Re going to mess up your curly hair, so stop where, if you saw that video and you're like scrunching scrunching is my whole world. You are probably rocked by this as well. The worst part is she just left the video there, but i went to her page and she did go on to say all right. So, essentially, what the girl in this photo is doing is she's scrunching, her hair and disturbing her curls before the curls have time to set and dry. We have restored faith in humanity. Scrunching does not ruin the integrity of your hair. It'S not damaging to your hair. However, it can mess up your style if your hair has not completely dried if it is not completely set, and if you have not used a product with good hold, remember, having long lasting hold is not equivalent to having a crunchy cast, because sometimes you can scrunch Out that crunchy cast and it can just fall right flat so as long as you're using a product with good long lasting holds not continuing to scrunch your hair. While it is drying and then you know letting it be very gently after it is dry scrunch away. My friends well, let's go on and maybe finish off with talking about products, curly girl, friendly products, the ones that contain no sulfates and no silicones. There'S a few accounts out there that are dedicated to dissecting formulas of products, showing you the ingredient list, telling you what's good, what's bad. The problem with this is with tick tock. Each video is 60 seconds, maybe 3 minutes, but it's a 60 second video. There is not a lot of time for nuance in a 60 second video and a lot of these topics, including reasons why certain ingredients like sulfates and silicones are in our products that simply aren't explained, and unfortunately, there's a lot of fear-mongering and misinformation out there. Not just on tick-tock but within the whole curly community, that is cg, curly girl, method, friendly. You know how i feel, and if you know me, you know that i am a curly that has been using sulfates and silicones my whole life. The truth is these ingredients are not harmful to you if you are using a product and it is working for. You then continue to use it and if you are looking for information, go to professionals that know what they're talking about on these subjects like cosmetic, chemists and scientists that actually create these products, because they can explain to you best how these things work. Okay, listen to them! If you don't want to listen to me and let's not simply demonize anything before getting into nitty gritties, when you were scrolling on tick, tock, you're going to come across an ad and i've seen a lot of videos promoting a certain product from l'oreal which sounded really Good a little too good to be true, we'll just show you so you see within eight seconds this product is supposed to make your hair feel soft and silky. It uses a technology called lamellar technology. This is supposed to apply amino acids and hydrating and moisturizing ingredients where your hair is the most damaged and dry. So it's meant for people with damaged hair, especially color treated hair, but it's supposed to be good for all hair types. So you know i had to try it, but i wanted to try it side by side, a product that i thought it was a little bit of a dupe for i'm talking about the amica, the cure, multitask treatment. If you haven't heard of them, amica is a professional haircare line that a lot of hairstylists use in salon. You can also find it at sephora. You can also see one of my hair stylist friends on tick. Tock matt loves hair. He uses amica all the time. I'Ve tried a few of the products myself and i've wanted to try this product specifically for some time. So when i did a little side by side, i applied both of the products the same way. They have this really watery consistency, but, as you can see, it was a lot more runny on the l'oreal side, which made it harder to apply but weirdly enough right as the eight second wonder, water hit my hair. It had this warming sensation that was so strange, but very inviting i just wasn't expecting it. This product contains hydrolyzed wheat protein, which is going to be strengthening to the hair. It also has vitamin e, which is going to provide a very moisturizing property uh, but you may look at this ingredient list and also see alcohol did not the night that did not. I don't think i've ever said that out loud really, i don't really know how it's the natured alcohol, which is in the formula not to dry out your hair, it's in there as a solvent to help improve the texture of the formula. So it stays in that really nice liquidy form and when paired with the other moisturizing ingredients, it's not going to be bad on the hair, especially since this is a rinse out product, and this formula is silicone free, unlike amica the amica, the cure does contain ammo Dimethicone, this is a wonderful ingredient for color treated hair, which is who this type of product is targeted to aka mei. It uses what they call their bond cure technology, which is their form of a bond builder. Now we all know who the real og bond building product is ooh plex. We have a video on that. It'S the only bond repairing product that is actually shown to truly improve bonds of the hair. What this technology is supposed to target the bonds in your hair? It it also contains vegan protein, so again, another protein treatment. This is truly where you're going to be getting the strengthening, as well as plant butters, which are going to be very moisturizing and, interestingly enough, this product can be left on. It says if your hair is severely damaged, you can even leave it on which i think is awesome. We love multi-use products and, at the end of this comparison i did love my amica results better. I felt like it gave me a little bit more of that. Silky feeling which i need on my high porosity, very dry hair. So it's the amica for me plus the amiga is vegan and cruelty free. But if the l'oreal one is what is accessible to you, the results were still great. Try it out. I feel like you have nothing to lose, but besides that, as my boyfriend lucas will say after i show to him all of all of my tick tocks that i've recently liked that is enough for tonight it was light when i started and uh now, we've scrolled For so long, it's dark, that's usually how it goes if you enjoyed today's video and you'd like to see a part two, let me know in the comment section below and we can do more videos like this. I hope you've enjoyed this video and, if tick tock isn't banned in your country, then do give me a follow over there. This has been your main girl, mel and i'm out peace. I was just scrolling tick tock, oh my god. I was procrastinating to start this. Video because i was scrolling tick tock. I can't even make this issue i'm sick of it into the thick of it that song is everywhere right. Now it's a huge trend at first i was afraid i was petrified. That'S my that's! My raven baxter impersonation hey about about a hair bout about swine. Let us begin with the aztec hate. Okay, okay. I i get distracted. I get distracted on tick tock, as i'm filming like. Why am i like this hello ma'am? I am filming. What'S up? Oh, you are mixing bentonite clay, oh gosh, oh and i'm in your washroom. Okay. First of all, don't make a mess and second of all, don't burn off your hair.

Drăgan Crina-Mădălina: I love to see curly girls not following the cgm, but still showing how to properly take care of my hair and taking off the pressure that comes with stressing out wether the product is ”approved” or not! Also not gatekeeping curly hair as many tips and tricks work for us, on the wavier side as well!

Tina Avile: Hey Mel, could you do some easy curly hairstyles for formal occasions like weddings and prom? I’m sure a lot of us curlies would appreciate it!

Elizabeth Greschner: I was convinced by my hair dresser that I went to for almost a decade that I had straight but unmanageable hair. When I tried to book for a haircut she was unavailable due to personal reasons. Well I went to a whole other salon and the first words out of his mouth were 'do you want to enhance your waves or keep it like this'. I was blown away. And with his help, and after a move several states away, and a new hair stylisty hair isn't as frizzy but it's getting very curly

Jennifer Muñoz: As a new wavy/curly girl, it felt so welcoming when Mel said " Welcome to the textured hair community"Im glad you touched the topics of silicones Mel. I personally dont use them because my hair doesnt really like them , I do use sulfates cause I NEED MY MONTHLY CLARIFYING anyways I havent used silicones in 7 months so I might go back and see if I could start using them again just to help my hair be more defined and less prone to humidity cause Florida is humid all year long

Tamara Pace: I'm 54 and in the last year have learned that my "cowlicks" and horse tail coarse hair is actually wavy curly. Your videos are what drew me in to having healthy hair.

Milk: Mel i just want to say that you changed my life. I was 10 years old when i first considered going natural and starting my curly hair journey. I found some you tubers that would just put products on their hair with some smoothing and their hair would be perfect. I would be absolutely FAWNING over it, but their techniques and uneducated advice never worked for me. Around that age is when i also became insecure about everything about myself including my hair, My tan skin, my brows, my nose, and of course my hair that I had no idea to take care of. I found you during quarantine and watched all your videos and learned so much. Now, I am 15, my hair is my best and favorite feature and I am constantly complimented on it thanks to you. Taking care of my hair opened other doors for self care, such as skin, style, a healthy diet and body. I am more confident than ever now, and I feel beautiful and authentic to myself . Thank you mel.

Kira Ayala: thank you mell for standing up for us, your wavy girls or guys in the curly hair community. thank you for allowing us to embrace our natural hair.

Emily Cramer: Thank you for saying that wavies are part of the textured hair community. My hair truly curls with assistance, waves with some care, and well.. does whatever when not treated. It’s such a weird line in the community, so THANK YOU. Just FYI I always thought I had frizzy hair and got my hair permanently straightened. Took 15 years for me to have someone say, I think you have curly or wavy hair, you should let it grow out. ‍♀️

Hannah Case: Even though I don't have tiktok, I'll always trust your word about these trends since you have BLESSED my curls beyond belief

Lisa Townsend: I would LOVE to see a part 2 of this video Mell. I laughed my butt off watching your face as you tried these products. I so look forward to texture Tuesday. I not only learn a TON but you make me LAUGH. Thanks Mell and Amanda for the bright spot in our week. <3

Heidi Rosin: I have enough rabbit holes I refuse to enter TikTok's so I love seeing TikTok reaction videos and yours was awesome - encore worthy for sure!

Uncommon RD: LIVING for this myth debunking by a professional hair stylist!!

Zoé Rosado: Happy Texture Tuesday!!! This gonna be fun Mell! I've got a seester video recommendation. Could you consider doing a bride hairstyles video? Usually when one searches for those, there's a buuunch of straight hair brides with hairstyles that are either impossible for us curlies without straightening or simply not realistic for our hair. (if you do, please include something with flower crowns)

Emily: I’d LOVE to see more of these. I especially love the curlues not following the CG method. I skip sulfates because I’m allergic to them, but I found when I tried to completely follow it, my hair had less curl and volume but took more time. I want all the curl and all the volume.

Jeanette Avila: Hi Mel !! I just wanted to tell you that my grandma uses rosemary water. She boils the leaves and adds it to her shampoo. She has seen growth in her “bald spots” !!

cesjen: I love the Aztec clay mask as a semi-monthly mask. I add in a little coconut oil, argan oil (to minimize dryness) and tea tree oil with the ACV (to help with dandruff). My hair feels soft and smooth after and my scalp feels great. Definitely not something to be done frequently and it can also be applied to the scalp only if you're worried about overly dry ends.

Melissa Clark: I have natural spiral curls and I did the heatless curl method using a robe tie. Ya know the rope thing that ties your robe closed and it worked. It gave me beachy style waves which I've never been able to achieve before. Not even with a curling wand or using a straightener have I ever been able to get those loose beachy waves. So thank God for this heatless hack.

Lou Lou: Hey Mel, I don’t know if you’ve seen but on Twitter a lot of hairstylists have been advising naturals to stop using all oils, heavy butters and leave in conditioners and instead to only wash & condition + style with a gel. I think it would be cool if you did a video talking about this and your thoughts on it.

Spisie: Mel you have been my guardian angel ever since I started wearing my hair curly again. I can’t explain how happy it makes me that you are in my area. I hope one day I am lucky enough to get a cut by you

Ciara Rozet: The things you do for us, Mell.

Manes by Mell: HAPPY TIKTOK TEXTURE TUESDAY!!! If you don’t have tiktok, your mane girl Mell is here to fill you in on what you’re missing on #HairTok and #CurlTok !! ❤️❤️❤️

Ioana Pirate: What I heard from a beauty industry professional recently is that we should stop obsessing over single ingredients as it's the whole formula that counts. If the product works for you, use it!

ozarks onna: Thanks for standing up for us wavy gurls. ❤️❤️❤️

Anandika Banduni: My hair density actually increased with a blend of coconut oil, Jamaican black castor oil and rosemary oil. I worked for me

Jennifer S: Tip: Rosemary oil actually helps to prevent lice. It’s in the natural shampoo to prevent it.

Aileen Fernandez: This was great! I trust your reviews 100%. Also, thanks for addressing those negative comments. Hope to see more videos like this!

Sara DeVito: Just adore Mel!!!! She really brings so much positivity and humor along with valuable information and words of encouragement. Her personality is beyond bomb. Love it!

Karlina Capone: Dr. Dray and Mel?! love it when my two favorite YouTubers help me out

Yaritza Miranda: I recently got the Wonder water (the version with the dark bottle, it's the same formula but the smell is more pleasant) and I love it, my hair is super soft and shiny and it's so easy to detangle after using it.

Lyn Pursuing Elegance: I absolutely love watching you. You really know about the products and educate us properly. I trust what you say and my curls are looking much better after severe damage. Thank you for sharing your extensive knowledge.

Marianne Labib: I would love to see part 2. I love these type of videos that clarifies the truth behind all these trends. Thanks

Tanairi Mastarreno: Yessss thanks for sharing this information! And thank you for telling people that just because you have 2 work on your curls doesn't mean your curls aren't real! We get alot of criticism regarding that.

Melina Sica: Yaas girl!!! Let’s keep up the positivity and exclude the haters❤️ your content is , like always, helpful!

Samantha Tavares: Love this video, can’t wait to see what’s more to come Mel! Your my curl girl inspiration♥️

Sara M.: Mell and Amanda... I can't thank you enough for this video. I am going through a really hard and difficult time and my mood is awful. I decided to distract myself and watch one of your videos to help me feel better. This video was everything !!! I loved it. It made me smile and laugh so hard and I really needed that so badly. Thank you so much!! You're so funny and hilarious and I love your dynamic. Thank you for lighting up my day!!!!

GotInterest: i’ve seen the aztec clay mask be used as a SCALP treatment because it’s meant to get in and get rid of heavy metals and irritants and to help ph balance the skin on your scalp, so maybe some people got confused and started thinking it was good for hair as well?

undercover23: this was so good mell! informative and entertaining!

Desiree Dent: Your videos are so informative and incredibly entertaining. If I wasn’t even interested in curly hair I would still thoroughly enjoy these. Curious if you have any tips about troublesome hairlines. I have a cowlick in the front and styling is a real challenge for me. On top of my weird baby bangs after having my daughter. (Perhaps you have heard of these) but that is a whole nother issue. Flipping my hair side to side or parting the opposite way still gives me trouble as well as styling upside down. Rant over!

Angela Monahan: I was tripping out over why Mell's hair looked so different. Is it darker? Longer? Then it hit me- her curl pattern!! ☺

Simonetta Saccon: God I remember a couple years ago I was following a green/non toxic community and I was soooo green-washed (the shame) and I started using rosemary oil to grow my hair…well, just wanna let you know that my scalp hasn’t recovered yet I had TONS of problems (hyperidrosis, severe desquamation..) and it turned out it was in fact the rosemary stuff. I’m done with diys forever!!!

Karina Margit: Hey thanks Mel for that 15:00 battle speech;)❤️❤️❤️ I was think of maybe giving up on curls because (if you have to put that much work into it, is it worth it?) I only really have waves and often it can disappointing results you know?? So thanks for that it really makes me want to keep trying!

Trysh Ferguson: I love when you compare products. I’ve used so many that have failed. I’ve fought my curly hair ALL my life. Just embraced in during pandemic (I’m 59) one side is always giving me fits. One side is tight spirals, the other spirals and whatever lol

lauren h: I love the "didn't know I had curls" girl. I didn't know my fluffy puffy coarse hair had curls until I was like 17 lol

chrystalelizabeth: My hair has what I call a multi personality it's got everything from stick straight to ringlets For me I found that saturating my hair with a mix of grapeseed, avocado, coconut and castor oils once a week before washing and braiding it with 6 to 8 loose braids (or more if I want to change it up) gives me pretty beachy waves which suit me really well or I straighten it

Kerry Thom: Love this video! Thank you for trying all the stuff and sharing your wisdom with us.

Rhian. Anise: I love this! Normally when I used the Aztec clay I do it while in the shower on soaking wet hair vs. out of the shower which makes the application process easier. On my Mom because her hair is super dense, I add more ACV and make it looser then apply it in the applicator bottle which makes my life easier. Love your videos

Roussel: Video on product cocktailing pleaaase! Also a part two of this would be great as well!! Been following your advice for over a year and my hair is bussin!

Maggie Beadle: Mel, thank you for being you. Not only are your videos informative and well done, but they bring a smile to my face every time! Your energy feeds me! Thank you! I am a curly girl wanna be, I’ve been straight or slightly wavy my whole life and have always wanted curls. So I went out and got a perm, and now I find myself binge watching your videos. I would love to hear how you would care for fine (but I got a lot of it), permed hair. Everything is either too thick and weighs me down and just isn’t the right balance. Can you help a curly girl wannabe out?

Diane Myer: Thank you so much Mel. You have helped me so so so much to make my very curly hair look less frizzy and more defined. I get compliments all the time on my hair. I appreciate your videos so much.

Angela G: Happy Texture Tuesday!. Coincidentally, I just used the Loreal 8 Minute Miracle tonight when I washed my hair. I have color treated hi porosity hair. It seemed to work pretty well as far as I can tell. I did not know Amica had a similar product but I tend to stay away from silicones right now (personal choice). Thanks for the video. It was fun and informative as usual.

funkuchen2: You are the cutest person :D I found you today. After burning the crap out of my curls to straighten them the last two years and now watching three videos of yours, I immediately washed my hair and hoveringly diffused my curls - and girl!! I have to invent my style once again completely new :D

Elly Rodriguez: ❤️❤️❤️❤️this was fun to watch…. and affirming that 60 sec videos are not enough to base info on… oh and yes, Dr dray gets an A+ from me …

Aline Paradis: This was an awesome video. Loved this format and I would watch more of you did any other!!

Catherine Mejia: I love her and all of her tips for me personally you have helped me lots thank you mell I appreciate all of what you have done for my hair and also being entertaining at the same time not just sounding informative and boring

Joanaly Ramirez: Love it! Thanks! I will love to watch a part 2!

Toriana Kay: Why tf was I tearing up when that blonde girl took her hair down from plopping & saw her curls for the first time?!? I loved that moment soooo much

Sarail Vazquez Ortiz: Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge in a way that the rest of the mortals (people who are not hair stylist, like me ) can really understand .

Deanna: Happy Texture Tuesday!!! I'm on tik tok a lot so I'm excited to see how this goes!!! Thank you girl!! Much love and happiness xoxo!!

FaithyLou: I have 2c hair and the heatless curls method works great on my hair from dry, but it looks ridiculous if I start with wet hair

Jenny Wallberg: I do the bathrobe hair hack multiple times a week and it’s my go to style; it works so well for my hair

Andrea Michelle: Hey Mell! This is so awesome, just what I need before my washday this week! ❤

hecetara: I recently discovered I had curly hair this is due to me not being able to bleach and color my hair as much as I use to and I am new to the curly journey. Your videos have truly helped, thank you

any: Mell, I totally get it. The low and no poo method have been working for me, though. I think everyone’s hair is different and that’s ok. My hair is so healthy now and i totally believe that the sulfate free shampoos I use can clean my hair really well I think that many people don’t like the methods because they don’t truly understand how the method works and just go “oh it is not approved!” Instead of thinking how it could affect their hair specifically. I’m one of the people who searches about hair ingredients to choose which products work for me and it has been good However, some people don’t like that and that is understandable

Rachel T: Hey Mell, I have a curly hair question. I have super fine, low porosity hair that is always really dry and frizzy. The only way I can keep it from frizzing too much is using a super strong hold gel which just weighs down my curl. Is there anything I might be missing in my routine or can change to get more volume without a ton of frizz? Any suggestions would be helpful

Jessica Ledesma: Wow! So much information! I love it !! I just used your video on cutting your own curly curtain bangs and I’m so happy with the result! Thank you thank you

Tatyanna Hayward: I do my aztec clay masks with the clay, apple cider vinegar, and a lot of oils and co-wash it out my hair. It's about getting the consistency you like. I add enough oils and wet ingredients to get a thick but smooth mask consistency so its easier to apply and distribute

Aimme Inoa: Absolutely love this video! I cannot wait to one day be like you Mell!

agelnett: Yes part 2 please! I was dying laughing all by myself. Thank you!

Laura B.: Part 2 please!!! This was so fun to watch!!!

Mariam Sabra: I actually really like the look you got from that brakes curls technique!!! Looked real classy , 60s vibes when you first took it out and the rest of the video you look like an island goddess

AK Honeybee 907: Yes thank you! I’m one of those people that just thought I had frizzy mostly straight hair. I knew I had some bend and fuzz there, and the tangles….. the awful tangles…. I didn’t know my hair texture and didn’t know how to take care of it at all! I am one of the people that grew to the age of 26 before learning how to properly care for my hair. Before that, it was brushing the snot out of it daily (losing tons of it), shampoo, conditioner, cotton towel, and then hair dryer. You can imagine the frizz and pain I endured I am sure especially living in Alaska with it’s dry ass windy winter weather always. People are SO mean about the difference between curl and wave. To me, curl is when an actual ring is formed by the hair clump. Wave is more of an “S” pattern. I have a mix of curls and waves. I’m trying to help my hair recover from the years of torment it has endured. I hate to come into these platforms and see people saying “you’re not curly.” Or “don’t join the curly community.” That’s just wrong and mean I don’t understand the aggression surrounding the textured hair community. Shouldn’t our embraced natural beautiful textures be something we celebrate in each other rather than using it as a way to tear each other down? I legitimately did not know how to care for my hair my whole life because nobody taught me! I honestly didn’t know! I’m not the sharpest knife by any means, but I’m not dumb either. I began taking care of my hair and have found that I actually have CURL! Not just wave but curl as well. It’s not that far fetched when we are taught from a young age that straight hair is beautiful so it must be brushed, combed, and flattened into submission. Let your hair do it’s THANG! it’s still very much transitioning and healing into finding itself and it’s pattern, but every day of proper care has been bringing more and more bounce! That’s how I encountered your channel and I love it here because all textures are welcomed. ❤️

Daneal Rorke: I love bentonite clay as a reset for my curls! I apply it to damp hair though and thoroughly condition after

Dozey Mare: Yes pleeease, part two. Love the video Mell and Amanda ❤️

Christina Obert: Love videos like this! Entertaining and educational.

selinet1972: I truly enjoyed this video, would love to see more

MoonStar: Tiktok was the reason I realized I may have curly/wavy hair. Your channel has changed my view on everything! Thank you for being welcoming of all hair types ❤️

maybememory1: I love that you aren’t negative about curl types! I feel like the super curlies tend to smack down anyone with a looser curl type than them. Maybe it comes from being made fun of for their curls growing up, but there’s room for all of us!

Mrs. Lamb: This was great! Give us part two boo!

Lori Wiens: I would love to hear your ideas about the deva cut or the rezo cut. I live in Manitoba, and every salon you call tells you that they have someone who specializes in a curly cut, then you get there and the stylist has poker straight hair, and they literally hack your hair off! How can you find a stylist who is actually trained to cut curly hair? Or is this an area where curly stylists are extremely rare?

Ainsley Jordan: my mom went to the hairdresser with my curly haired sister to get her hair cut. she came back with the clarifying shampoo you have (from what i could see in your video- the one we have is the Malibu undo goo >pH 9 sulfate free clarifying shampoo). it was recommended by the stylist for me because i was a swimmer- great to know you like jt!

checkyesgaby: Your hair looks beyond gorgeous here and seriously, you crack me up all the time I was so happy to learn you live in Canada! I gotta come see you for a proper haircut

MissKatheryn: So glad you're here to give us the truth! Tiktok trends always feel faked and I'm always nervous trying them out because I don't want to damage or set back my curl journey

Regina Euzebio: For the clay, I use that on my scalp, not the hair, and it works for me. I normally have a very SWEATY head, I live in a year round, very hot climate, and it causes acne, and it helps a lot with that.

sarah khaled: loved your nice comments on every video they were very helpful too. and yes i want part 2!

Katrina Rossi: I've been using the rosemary Oil by Mielle, it has jojoba and teatree oil and I've deffinitely noticed better scalp health. Not only do I not have dandruff anymore but I suffered from itching aswell because my scalp would sweat a lot and accumulate the dandruff. Not a good mix for curly hair it's been my life saver it's REALLY runny though

celeste rose: I'd watch a part 2 for sure!

Amy Brohman: I had a little wave and after years of trying to enhance it finding your channel got me there! I love the myths and trends! Does squish to condish actually do anything?!

Diane Belli: Hi Mel I live in Australia the product I really love to use is PUMP it is for curly hair. Have you ever heard of this product ? I find it amazing if you have the time try and investigate this product I think by following you , you might like it. Just to let you know I am just a normal person that loves curl hair . Keep on making amazing tutorials ❤❤

Minna Uyeda: I have been waiting all day for this to drop! This is different and a great idea, so cool! I can’t believe what you do for us!

Sycamore Valley: For that gatekeeping one, they realize hair changes with hormonal changes, right? Mine was bone straight before puberty, wavy after, curly after childbirth (kind of wavy and curly, wurly?).

VeroCruz: I'm a wholeass 44 year old vieja and just recently realized I don't have frizzy straight hair. I actually have wavy/curly hair I have not been properly caring for. Yes, even us oldies sometimes don't know shit about our own hair lol Im loving your channel and have been bingewatching a bunch of your videos. The way you explain things and break it down has been so helpful. Thank you!

Alita Tarbox: Yes please, we want (need) a second video... and maybe a third! Love ya girlie!

Kris Ferreri: I'm glad the Aztec clay actually works, I can't use a lot of clarifying shampoos, including the one you use in the video because I'm allergic to them

Lanie Mercier: Love this video! If you’re looking for video suggestions, could you maybe do a video for natural grey/white hair? They’re messing up my curl families!

Alicee in wonderland: Oh my gooood those "heatless curls"... I was doing it when I was in school and it ALWAYS turned out awful but i kept doing it because I didn't know how to style my hair. It was a nightmare And I would always see tutorials from girls with pin straight long shiny hair.. Like what was I thinking really??? That it would be the same or something?? Hahahahha good I learned from my mistakes

Oliny Cardozo: We would love to see the part 2

MsAres1love: I've learned with the clay mask you have to do a avocado Mask afterwards....or flexseed or deep conditioning mask...it's about 3 hours...but your hair would love it curls will be on point for days

P. Suzanne Garrett: My scalp condition that I've had since I started CGM 8 years ago cleared up in February. I didn't do anything different, it just... went away. Like overnight. Weird. But much appreciated.

L: I did the heatless curls and it never dried despite blow drying before and after rolling it I had a wedding so I ended up straightening and curling slightly wet hair. My hair is smelling burnt once again

NYCH FAN: I love you! This was great! And YES, part 2 please! ✌❤
