You hi everybody. This is Tazz. Welcome back to tosses way closet. Today, I'm going to show you how I thin my wigs. So what would be a good reason to thin a wig? You get the wig home and you put it on and it's just too much hair. Okay, it looks unnatural, it feels unnatural you're, not comfortable at all and you feel just did like it needs to be thinned. However, there is a couple of questions that you need to ask yourself before thinning a wig. You need to ask yourself: is there just too much hair on this wig or is there just too much permittees on this wig? Let me give you an example. I have Noriko Reese here it says standard Noriko, cap and lots of perma cheese on the top and the crown the density of this wig is very light. This is not a heavy density wig. If you go about thinning this wig, you could thin all day long and all you're gon na end up with is perma T's. It is not going to give you less volume by thinning a wig like this, with a lot of permit ease on the top okay. So you really need to be sure that what you, what you're trying to do is thin a very dense wig versus a depuis or D volumize, a wig that has a lot of permit ease because, like I said you could just then then then, on this one And eventually, you're gon na end up with something: that's not wearable, because you've taken off too much fiber and you still have this pouf in this lift because of the permit ease in the cap. So definitely you want to pay attention to that. What I am wearing is john renault january, and i believe this is in the color toasted marshmallow i alway 2076. 13S. I'M pretty sure, that's what it is. This January is in the color 20 to f-16. So I have review both of these wigs before and I just felt like it was a bit heavy and natural and unnatural around the face. So I'm gon na try to show you a way to thin your wigs today. That will give you natural, realistic, a natural, realistic look. So I'm going to use January now. I'Ve already gone through and thinned a little bit of this, but I feel like I wanted to do a little bit more and I thought hey. I think everybody would like to know how I do this and up until now I just really wasn't a big demonstration person I'll tell you why? Because as a wig wearer, you kind of develop your own methods and madness right. So you know you could get in front of everybody in show everybody how you do something, but ultimately somebody's to say. Well, that's not right so-and-so. Does it this way? My point is you do what makes you comfortable in a way that produces the result that you want? Don'T worry about what everybody else is doing, I'm here to tell you that that you can most certainly achieve look a couple different ways. I know here in the Midwest: have you ever heard the saying there's more than one way to skin a cat? I would never skin a cat. I don't know what that's about, but basically it just means that there's more than one way to get from point A to point B and that's that's. Why I'm going to show you today all right, so you can see where and actually this toasted marshmallow with a bit thicker and denser than this one, which is the the one brownie but the sides are, was were very thick and right off of the hairline. It was thick human hair, natural human hair tends to be a little more thin around the face and at the hair lines. So you can see some baby hairs, some vellus hairs and then it just generally gets a little more thick as it moves back into the main body of the hair um. But on these particular Styles I love jr. is one of my favorite. Wigs you'll you'll see an coming review, but I love it. It'S beautiful. It has a lace front in a mono top. There'S really no look, no permit cheese on the top, but there's a lot of hair flavor here and it's sewn in in a way that can give you a lot of volume which I like. But I just wanted a more of a realistic appearance around the face and the edges alright, so I have done a little bit of thinning here. So what you can see is that I've taken some out around the sides just a little bit and that's when I got my Epiphany to show you what I'm doing, and so I have a little bit more work to do, and that will be my demonstration um. When you take hair out as well, it kind of springs up a little bit. It changes the texture slightly, so there's just less hair to weigh it down. Okay - and I, like the effect that I got here, I am going to use an example. I'M going to tell you about a story where I over thin the wig um I initially when I was a brand new. I got the genre, know Alya and although Alya is a lace-front in mono top, that wig had a lot of permits, especially around the ears and that the nape, and it was just a lot of permit ease in the wrong places. For me, it didn't flatter me as a style and it just appeared to be thick and voluminous, and I wanted to thin that wig so badly. So I bought my my my thinning shears and I went about. I think I watched one or two videos and do on how to do it, and so I began thinning and did a little more put it on and did a little more put it on and it's like this. You know I've been taking a ton of hair out of this wig, but it's the appearance is the same. It'S still poofy in all the wrong places. What am I doing wrong? Well, what I was doing wrong is because I confused I confused a high-density wig. Well, hyper matisse wig for high density wig, so alia just had a lot a lot of parameters in it and I ended up ruining that wig because I just went way too far, and I got down to the point where there was very little fiber and all It was those permit ease with just a few little fibers sticking out so bad bad experiment and mistake, and I think we all have stories like that. The other one is sweet talk by Gabor, that is a beautiful, choppy wave toppled beach wave style. But it has a ton of / Mateus throughout the entire cat, despite the fact that it's that it has a lace front in the left side, part there were was a lot of perma teeth in that wig. So again, I was careful because I knew from alia that this could be the case and I just bend and then and Bend, and then it ended up with him with an within an inch of its life. I thin sweet talk and I could still wear her and I didn't go too far, but it was right up against the edge and it was all I can do to stop myself from continuing to do it, because, despite how much hair I took out of that Wig, it was still puffy in full and voluminous, so learn from me that what not to do and how to know the difference, you kind of want to know how your wig is going to react before you start working on it, and so that's why I'm here So the things that you're going to need to thin a wig you're going to need some thinning shears these little teeth on there. That prevents a blunt cut. It'S only gon na take about half of the hair instead of all of it. Okay. So when you make a cut, it's only going to thin every other fiber, so it's going to come out um. I always like to use some scissors, especially around the face. So I'll show you how to sit in with scissors and then, if you have some, what do I want to say those clamps, hair, clamps or those they look like a tee and in there I do have some of those, but I just use these I'm going To use this to keep some of the hair out of the way so that I can concentrate on certain areas, so it got a little clips there and then a wide tooth comb. Okay! Alright! So you want to determine where, to thin and, like I said it's most often going to be around the face: okay and the hairline, that's generally, where you're gon na get the most bang for your buck out of thinning. So what I would do is take take a clip okay, and, despite how hard you try not to leave marks where you're thinning, it always seems to happen even if you're super careful. So what I like to do is leave that top layer of hair leave it. So I'm going to clip it back to move it out of the way, because what that's going to do is it's going to cover up where your thinning underneath? Okay, so that if you need to make marks and lines and in things like cuts, it's going to be underneath that top layer of hair and it's not going to be as noticeable. So then, I take my my share of my thinning shears here and what I do is I'll section off a little bit here right under where I've clipped up okay and I kind of smooth and stretch it. Then I take my thinning shears and I'm going to make at least two cuts. Sometimes three that's a longer strand of hair, but on a wig, that's maybe 12 13 inches like this one, probably just two, I'm going to start at the top just about an inch or so from the root and then about an inch or so beyond that another Cut okay, so what I'll do is and I'm going to go into it at an angle again, anything just to relieve itself of any blunt cut: obvious cuts. Okay, so at an angle towards the top make a cut down a couple inches make another cut. Okay! That'S it all right now, the only way to know what it's going to look like is by going ahead and combing it out. I would urge you not to use the scissors to pull it out, because once you make your cut, you could leave it in and then just pull it out. That may damage the fiber around it, because it's not very elastic okay, so you're going to pull out the hair that you've used for thinning and I'm going to throw it right there on the ground. I'M going to do some sweeping after this okay, and so then you might want to section off another piece: okay, we're gon na do the same thing right here: okay, again, two cuts at an angle, one towards the top cut cut. Okay, I'm gon na take the hair out. Okay, I don't know if that's gon na be enough or not. You'Re really gon na have to study it, and I would urge you to go slow and take a look at the results. Okay, now, when you go to - and we can do this too - we can pull up some more clip it and do another round of thinning underneath okay, then then thin right there pull it down so you're gon na take that top layer and pin it up and Away do some thinning then maybe pull that up and away and do some additional thinning. It'S all a matter of preference and how much you hear how hair you have to work with okay. So when you pull that back down, that top layer is going to basically be uncut and all the thinning will have taken place underneath all right, that's going to give you a much more realistic touch, because, despite your best efforts, you can sometimes get little cut lines In there, especially on straight wigs they're, more forgiving on a curly wig, but on a straight win you just it, you have to use this method of pulling up that top layer. I really believe in that okay, so we can do this on both sides. So I'm going to try on this side now the bagging area and around the front. This is a I'm going to tackle this next, but we're just doing the sides right now, so I'm gon na pull pull up that top layer. Pin it back see here, create it section off a piece I'll grab my scissors. Now, on the other side, I'm going to angle it the opposite way, because you want the shorter ones at the front, the longer ones at the bottom around the face. So I'm going to angle it the opposite way: get up near the roof, make a cut a couple inches down make another cut there. There is a lot of fiber on these wigs. Okay, I'm going to do that once more right here, cut cut okay! So I'm going to take this down and let that top layer just fall back into place and it's a little bit thinner, okay, now, in reality, what I would do is just continue to work on that a little at a time until I got the desired density, Where I would what I was aiming for, but right now, what I want to do is show you how I work on the size, okay, so this is where you're gon na need your scissors, and I think I did this side earlier today. I think I'll do this side next, so the one, the the hair, that's right up against the face right off of the hairline. Okay, that's what we're going to do, I'm going to clip some of the others out of the way, and this time I'm going to grab scissors you first of all, let me make my okay so a little bit out of time, so I'm gon na take this Right here, that's right up against that lace front and I'm gon na twist the fiber twist it tightly all the way down and I'm gon na move it more towards the middle okay and then - and this is extremely hard to in front of the camera. Okay. But I'm trying to think no, because everything is opposite: okay, so I'm gon na come down and just gradually just take a little bit all the way down, not making a blunt cut, but by curling it around like that, it's not going to be exactly even I'm Going to do this side just because of the camera angle, it's going to be easier for me to demonstrate so taking this trust me in the mirror. It'S a little bit easier. So I'm going to twist twist twist all the way down. I'M gon na move it over to the side like this and then I'm just going to take out a little bit. Oh just a little bit. Okay, that's going to thin the side bangs the fringe! In a very realistic way, you can also use the videos on that. But again I like that this method a little bit better because it doesn't leave any marks. Okay. So when you have achieved your desired volume and things, I would urge you to a be right back, so just have a little bit of water here in a spray bottle. I wondered you just to give a light mist over the areas that you've thinned and give it a scrunch, because sometimes when you're pulling like that, pulling the hair out after a thinning, it kind of gets a little frizzy. So this is going to bring back the original texture and by bringing back the original texture you're going to get a sense of the final result, a little easier okay. This already lays more naturally to me, because I've taken some of the weight out from the sides. It really has a very light airy texture. Now, it's more, I can manipulate it a little more easily. This is one of those mono top wigs. That does have a lot of volume, so just because it's a mono top doesn't mean that that you can't achieve volume, because John Renault janya, where you certainly certainly can okay, so once that dries a bit, I'm going to re-inspect it before. I put all my tools away so that I can make any touch-ups that I want it. So just remember in recapping everything for you just remember: um the reason for thinning a wig be careful that you're not thinning it thinking you're taking out volume when it really is the permit ease that is creating that Boyan, because you're not going to help yourself at All by doing that and then just have an idea of what you want to thin and typically, you can achieve a very nice density. Look by frame art going around the face and the sides. Okay, the hair on the back of the head is typically more as thicker and has more density in natural, bio hair. So by thinning around the the top and the sides that frame the face, and then the sides you're going to achieve a lighter look without having to do and all over thin alright. And then I would urge you to spritz some water on. Let it dry a little bit and inspect, and if you need to do a little bit more, then you can go about doing a little bit more. I would urge you to inspect it every cut ever after every little bit that you take off that way. There'S no chance that it's going to you're gon na overdo it and ruin your wig. So that's just how it has does it that doesn't mean you have to do it the same way, but I have learned a thing or two over the years and that's just the method that I use in recently the ones that I've then have turned out very Beautifully, I hope this was helpful. See you next time on Taz's wig closet, you

Maryellen Dawson: Taz I had a few laughs at this one because of my own experience. The first two wigs I ever bought were Aspen (now Avalon) and Mila. I was so sad about my hair loss I don’t think I would have liked any wig. They were fake and that really made my hair loss all the more real. I was devastated. I was in hopeless mode and decided I needed to thin them both. I got myself into a cutting frenzy cutting without thinking. But I had watched one of your thinning videos. I was doing the process correctly but I just kept thinning, without stopping to see how it was going. I ended up thinning too much on Aspen but thought something was still wrong. I decided to cut bangs and did it with no real technique. I cut them too short and the end result wasn’t to my liking at all. I was too panicked about the very thought of having to wear wigs all the time when in reality it is 4 years later and I’m still wearing my own thin hair out at times, so I panicked without true cause. I didn’t ruin Mila but I made it look worse. I don’t wear either of them in public. I’m mad that I made them both worse because truly neither of them needed anything. It was just through my tears that I cut them and made a big mistake. Thank you for your lessons, but mostly for your calm and cheerful demeanor. You’re a great help to so many women. Yesterday was my 69th birthday, and among the blessings I counted, you were indeed one of them. Love and hugs.❤️ Maryellen

Pamela: Taz, I know this is an older video but this is so helpful to me NOW! I’m just getting up the nerve to start thinning a wig or two and feel much better prepared. Thank you so much for taking the time to show us these techniques!

Lori Nash Ellitt: I have become a Jon Renau customer FOREVER! I LOVE HIS WIGS! And it's thanks to you that I found that designer. I'm new to the wig game & because I watch you, I'm learning alot of good tips. Thank you Taz for all u do

Erin Lee: Super helpful! I bet a lot of us feel like we are fumbling around in the dark as we get acquainted with wig wearing. I sure do! I'm not a hairdresser, so this can feel very intimidating. But I thinned my first wig today and it went great! I thinned out Pippa, which on my long narrow face looked like a bowl plopped on my head. But i knew she had great potential if i could just de-bowl her a little. Blowdrying it on cool and fluffing it around released some of that preset shape. Then thinning it out underneath like you showed with the shears helped elongate the shape. Presto, no more Patty Duke hair, LOL. Much more current looking now. Great tip about focusing the thinning around the face to mimic how bio hair would naturally grow. Thanks for doing this video.

Judy Annable: Taz, thank you. This is all such great information for getting our wigs to look natural. Great demonstration and definition. Thanks for all that you give. So appreciate you.

Jeanne Strauss: Thank you for your patient tutorials! I haven't lost "all" of my hair yet, but just a lot of it because of thyroid disease and aging. I live in a very hot, humid, climate and I'm thinking" toppers" might be the way to go since I do still have some hair. I'm so grateful for your teachings. I really don't know what I would do if it weren't for the time you take to do this.xoxo

AmyOnWigs: Such good points about Permatease versus fiber density. Also, I love seeing everyone's different methods for modifying wigs. None of them are wrong! That's how I learned to make my wigs better. I chop bangs and thin like a madwoman now! ✂️ Hugs from Texas! I hope they're not skinning cats here in my state!!!

ChooseHappy Mc: Love these types of videos. So very helpful. I almost ruined my Seville. I thought to myself STOP, reset. I put down the scissors and said to myself - another day. Also, rewatched multiple videos on how to thin a wig. I really want to try on about 10 other wigs to thin the front so the wigs will quit flopping in my face. But now I am “gun-shy.” I am scared too. This videos is very helpful. Thanks.

Cindy Ellis: Such a clear and helpful video. I don’t wear them because of health but for convenience. So glad to know the difference between too much perma-tease and too much volume. I have also taken a fairly expensive wig to my hairdresser to have it trimmed and thinned. She is a great hairdresser but after seizing your demo and a few others I realize she knows nothing about working with wig. You are a true gem!

Songbird Katie: I’m a newbie to wigs. I got really lucky and found the perfect first wig. I bought a different style wig for summer which ironically has so much hair on the top I have yet to wear it and summer is nearly over! Either I never wear it, or I take the plunge and thin it and hope I get it to a desired natural look. I have landed on your videos, Taz, and you have given me and your viewers great tips, advice and firsthand knowledge! Thank you so much! ❤️

S Jarboe: Thank you so much for this tutorial. Do you always wear your wigs when you manipulate them? God has truly given you a gift of helping those of us with hair loss. Learning your techniques gives us all strength to conquer problems with our wigs and courage to go out in public with them. I have worn wigs for over 40 years and it was a challenge at first just to find a place to buy them. Believe it or not, the first wig I wore came from Sears. They had a beautiful wig line!!!

rhondalyn134: This is SO helpful! I bought a very inexpensive wig for the purpose of teaching myself how to thin. I totally ruined it, but that was a good thing as the experience taught me when to stop cutting. I've learned I have better success thinning a straight hair wig while it's on a wig head and better success thinning a curly wig while it's on my own head. The techniques you used with both the thinning sheers and the regular scissors helped me so much in this journey to learn how to thin wigs. THANK YOU! :-)

BG Smith: New to wearing wiggys more frequent after a bad cut! Love the huge caution you gave because I did that!!! Had scissors and thinning ones side by side. Snipped, laid the shears down and saw the thinning ones lying there looking at me like “Really? It was OUR turn!” Seriously. It’s so fun to make them more suitable for yourself. My grown daughters love the look they say mom grow your hair that way! And I say girls mommies hair can get a little bit long but I don’t have that many hairs because the wigs are always so full. Thinning them helps them become more realistic therefore more wearable therefore way more enjoyable. Thanks so much for sharing

Jodi: Hi Taz! Thank you so much for that very helpful tutorial. Your patience is unbelievable! I cant wait to try it in all my big wigs! Lol. You're so pretty and that wig looks perfect. I am having a wig crisis right now which is why I was looking at wig videos. You're very knowledgeable. Thanks for passing it onmto all of us.

Debera Crabb: Oh I love what you demonstrated in this video I have been waiting for you to show us how you thin your wigs. It really has helped me to thin out my wigs that are too thick an I like the comments on the premetease too that was very helpful. This video is a keeper.

Suz: hey pretty lady, excellent info and demonstration for anybody who wishes to to thin their wigs, I would be terrified to try this but you did an excellent job! Looking beautiful my sweet friend, hugs, Susan xoxo

Angie: I using this video to thin 1 of my new, long, wavy style by Envy called “Maya” in Sparkling Champagne. Received an order in yesterday & love the long, beachy waves on Maya, however, it is dense & very heavy. So I’m following along with you & its so easy, THANK YOU TAZ

Annette Burchett-Taylor: I'm going to try this on my soft and subtles, they look just like your January around the front. Keeping this in my library for reference. This is the best I've seen. Thanks again!

Laurie: Taz I love your videos. So helpful and detailed, I really think I can do this - if I decide it needs it! Hugs to you, you are such a great person for sharing so much with us.

Amy Delong: This is great! I'm new to wigs and bought January a couple of months ago, but haven't been able to wear her because she is just too thick. This gives me hope.❤

Awakeinidy: Really helpful! I haven’t bought a wig yet, but I haven’t like my hair most of my life. Still looking for the right one. Thanks for your help!

peaches5712: Hi Taz...thank you for this video! I have thin hair naturally so when I get my new wigs it’s like....eeeek to much to much! lol This video gives me more confidence to thin them down. But, how do you take out some of the perma teeze? That really drives me a little nuts! Can you just comb, or brush, it out a little? Thanks again!

Rhonda W: Thank you so much for this video! I have a sweet talk luxury which I bought as my first wig! Yes I’m very brave. It’s the luxury model so I thought it wouldn’t be quite as overwhelming. But the front is very overwhelming. I’ve ordered some thinning shears and will carefully do a little at a time as you suggest!

pam brunelle: So helpful Taz !!!! I have 2 beautiful wigs now but they definitely need thinning and up til now I have been at a standstill . I still wear them but like you said not completely comfortable without using something to pin them away from my face.

mary allen: FABULOUS video, Taz. Thank you so much for sharing your wealth of experience and knowledge!! Love & Hugs P.S. Keep your fingers crossed for us novices!!

Lisa Smith: Thank you so much for this video and all your videos! I have breast cancer and am in the middle of chemo therapy and have lost my hair. Your videos are so helping me with my new world of wigs! God bless you. I have Elizabeth by Jon Renu and have a second shipping in a different color. Bought ocean from your review and will continue to watch your videos and educate myself.

Jackie Marsh: Thank you so very much Taz!! I learned alot, and was amazed at the difference, that just a small amount of thinning can make. Once again Thank you for a wonderful review Love xoxoxo

Susan Cantorna: WOW, was this ever helpful! Thanks a bunch!! I really appreciate all the time & effort you put into making this video.

True North: That was a really easy tutorial Taz thank you so much !

learningallican07: Taz thank you so much for doing this video!! Is just what I was looking for!! Also for mentioning a longer straight wig which is what I have that is easy to heavy for me. In Hong to get some thinning shears and try this!

Susan Andersen: Great tips Taz! I find pinning my wig and thinning on a wig stand really makes it easier to get a consistent result.  Also I thin from weft or about 4 inches from weft depending on wavy  or straight and never the front inch, so I don't end up with short hair popping out like perma hairs.  Your tips are great and really helpful to new wig wearers.  Thank you.

patricia sacco: Very helpful. I’m new. First time looking for a wig. Learning so much on line. Thank you

Atypical60: Thank you so much! I've got a couple of very dense wigs that I want to thin but haven't known where to start! This is a valuable video!!! XOXOXOXOXO

Jane Clark: Desperately needed this! You’re a great teacher!

Warren Capon: I went back to the archives and saw this as I needed to do something with mine, and I learned so much, the way you delivered the content was superb, thanks .

Judith Hartwig: I love your videos. They are straight and to the point and extremely informative. Thank you so much for sharing your long time experience with them so it can be an easier ride for the rest of us who are not as experienced! God bless you

Julie Mann: Thanks Taz. Unfortunately, I cut my bangs too short! I'm still learning. Thank you.

Janet M: Perfect timing for me to find this video. I have a Jon Renau top wave topper that one side is a little thick. I can do the twist thinning because it’s not around the permatease. I definitely feel confident trying this Thanks Taz!!!

Jan Griesmer: I am impressed - you seem to be a natural teacher. I’m definitely going to try thinning, starting with my Jones wig which I bought after your review. Thanks so much.

Donna: Taz.. you're such a life saver. I know how many of us really needed this. If I would have known this before there's so many that were sent back that I could have worked with. Thanks Taz...❤

Jane Clark: Much needed! Thank you, for being a wonderful teacher.

Annette Weber: Thanks, Taz! Great tutorial. Very easy to understand!

Renee Polin: I'd like to suggest that you do vertical partings pulling the hair forward while still clipping the top part .out of the way . This will also eliminate cutting twice .This adds some nice layering . Vertical partings cut down on noticable mistakes and horizontal cut lines.

Marla Tyler: You are a beautiful lady and look great in all the wigs and make it easy and comfortable to start wearing wigs - great information ❤️

BoniW: This is such a helpful video putting this all together. I no you’ve done these steps before but this one I’m saving.

carey morris: Taz, appreciate your knowledge so much. I am new to toppers and wigs and you have been extremely helpful. One question, should a wig/topper be worn while preparing meals? Thanks in advance

Jodi: I watch A LOT of your videos and, although I'm still scared to death with some of it, you've helped me immensely! Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge. This wig looks BEAUTIFUL on you but Ive NEVER seen you NOT look amazing! Thanks again! Jodi

Jazz Hands: I love the technical tips - thinning tutorial was very needed!! But most of all, I love how your videos make wig-wearing cool and fashionable and fun!! You are fabulous!

Patty Carosi: As always Taz this was alot of great information. I am so glad you shared this information it will really help alot of us. Have a fun weekend.

Sherry Arant: Thank you for this video! I am very new to the world of wigs, so my question is, how do you know if the pouffyness is from permatease or from wig density? My wig feels very thick and it's hard to pick up layers. I am just not sure of it is thick because of permatease or not. Thank you

Carolyn Roxburgh: Thank you Taz for starting off this 'how to' thin a wig with the warning about the permatease! The one wig I wanted to thin was my Noriko Alva....eeek! So happy I watched this video first! As you know this one has alot of permatease, right?!

Erics Granny: Thank you so much!!!! I have a great beachy wave that is just too much. Going to try this today! Happy 4th of July 2019. Hugs

Toni Maroney: Just followed your instructions on my Brooklyn and it came out beautifully. Thank you.

Sandylee Isme: Love these tips. Thank you!

FBS 191: Great video. Thank you for explaining the methods. I've learned alot from you.

Linda Gould: Oh Taz you demonstrate so well, thank you. I will always buy my wigs from you! By the way can we see some grey wigs, maybe pixie? You are fantastic!

D W: ♥️your videos Taz!! So helpful Thank you

Sherilane OZ.: This video was very, very needed. I can relate to what you said with Sweet Talk. I can still wear it, but almost lost it. Thanks so much. I love your videos.

The Magic of Wigs: Excellent video! Great points brought up! Thank you for taking the time to do this video. XOXO!

Trina Katrina: I thought of thinning Miranda but after a couple of months it's no longer poufy as it was. Glad I didn't. Thanks Taz, I always enjoy your videos.

Sara Zachary: Thank you for this video. I just ruined a brand new, Unfiltered. I am kicking myself for ruining a beautiful piece. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.

Wigs, The Real Scoop with MichelePearl: I am finally going to thin my Monroe. I see where the permatease lives in the mono top so thanks to you I will steer clear of that area. Very informative.

Lisa Nelson: Such excellent help! Thanks so much. Does the method vary at all or are there other tips for thinning a shorter wig rather than one such as this? (Other than I assume I may only get one of those angled cuts in rather than having enough length to do a couple) Thanks again! Lisa

Annette Burchett-Taylor: You saved me from ruining my Alia! Hadn't noticed the perma-tease on the ear tab! Thank you!

Hayjud: Wow, I love your personality beautiful lady ☀️ You look like Hollywood Thank you so much for your tips. I'm new into lace wigs, and I've already returned two, and one was customized, so I couldn't get my $160 back I got a 130% density one, and I still don't feel it's for me. I don't think I'm gonna try on this one, but I am on the one I couldn't returned Do I really need those combs to help holding the wig in place? I just don't like them Well, thanks again for taking your time to share your knowledge and tips with us. Blessings from the Universe ☀️

Susan’s Vintage Life Beauty and More: Great instructional video. Thank you so much for the information. Hugs, Susan

Donna Dodd: Hi Taz, you are an absolute angel.. I have January & have been struggling with the density on the front & sides... especially as my bio hair is so fine & thin, that it looks rather extreme. I try & gather some courage.

ComaQueen: YEEESSSSS!! This is exactly what my wig needed. Thank you so much for posting this demo ❤️

Sharon Browning: Thank you Taz. This was so helpful.

A Few Random Things: I had a beautiful Bella Tress Amaretto in Vanilla Lush. I was having a panic day and decided it needed to be thinned. Idk why I did it in a bad head space, but I ruined it. :( It's about chin length now, and I don't like it. I'm keeping an eye out for someone selling one cheap cause I can't afford a new one. Thanks for the video I wish I had seen it before. Hahaha

MimiDidi: FYI you can also put it on a wig head and make these cuts at the "scalp" if you don't want to add texture or change the look of the style. This method is great, but if one isn't comfortable with their abilities, I'd do the scalp method. The top layer she's talking about is so so so so right! No cutting top layer. Curly hair hides a multitude of sins. You can cut someone's hair that's really curly and you really screw it up and you can't tell. You screw up straight hair and it can look like a goat chewed it off! I highly recommend the scalp method if you're thinning a long straight wig too. I doubt Taz has thinned one. She's very talented and is comfortable with how wigs lay and I'm not as comfortable with wigs as I am real hair. That's why I use the other method. I've used the method she is using. I've had good results, but I once screwed up a brand new shag type wig by changing the shape. I'll thin it at the scalp from now on lol I'm jealous of her talent hehe I'm not really. I'm happy for her that she's found her niche and something that makes her happy. I'm sure she doesn't mind me adding this. We're all here to help one another through our wig wearing journey. Whether you've lost your hair, like a lot of us, or just don't like yours, or wanna be lazy or a change! No judgment here! Mine grew back for a while and I still wore wigs sometimes! Now I've lost it on one side again. So, back to the drawing board lol first wig purchased was a Noriko work horse!

Linda Anderson: Great video. Good instruction on how to check so you don’t have a bald spot. Thanks too for sharing about your mistake. Love your videos.

Soozi LaSarge: Thanks for this. Great video. Question for you. How do I take the shine off of my synthetic wigs? I feel they look more unnatural with so much shine. Thanks again. As usual you look so pretty

C. O'Connell: Oh my goodness! I am watching this video because I bought Sweet Talk and it has too much hair around my face! Today I purchased the thinning shears and I am ready to go to town on her! LOL, so glad I watched this first!!

Mar Arellano: Tazz I’m new here with you and now I love your tip videos!

Just Me: You're a godsend for wig wearers. Thank you.

Rubitube: Great tips! What can you do against too much shine? If it is too shiny and looks unnatural?

Audrie Siegel: You, Tazz, are very naturally gifted with Wiggs!

Eileen Langdon: Hi Taz, this was very helpful. Do you always do this with the wig on your head and not on a wig stand? Also, your wig seemed so well secured. Did you use It Stays? If you did, do you put it on the lace front to secure it or past the lace front? Thanks.

Marion Muolo: But many of us are newcomers and clueless so we enjoy the benefit of your instruction

Tim Miller: great video, Waiting to get my thinning sheers but My Caliente needs the same thing near her face. So excited/ scared to customize

Lina Ko: Thank you very much. Such useful tips!

Live and Let Di: Such helpful tips!!!! thanks so much!

LaVonne Thompson: Very well done, but, I’ll probably be too scared to thin the hair on the wig Thanks so much.

CSL: You are just amazing. Awesome video and you have such great personality. I'm gonna try this with my editors pick, it has Permeatese so I have to be careful not to be carried away

Carol Geissinger: Very well done Taz, you know your job

D W: I could watch your videos over & over❣ #greatinformation #thankyou

That's What "i" Said: Just wondering, when buying a wig I noticed different densities. Is it a good assumption that a 120 density is good, and 130 generally "too much" for most people? Thanks!

Pink Candy Leah: Wow. I love January in this way. I want to order one nownjust because of this !

mary jean: I'm thinking I need to thin my Editors pick. Mostly on sides towards the crown. Thanks for the video! Did you have to thin your editors puck too? Once again I love love your videos!

A F: Great video Taz! Thank you. Can you demonstrate how to cut the length on a bang?

Judy Polstra: LOLOLOL!! I am SO glad you mentioned Sweet Talk. That's one I've been DYING to thin; however, I've never thinned a wig.

Angie Gay: Very informative Taz. Thank you so much Angie

High Tide Soaps: I bought one wig on clearance (final sale) for a really great price. BUT, when I put it on, the ear flaps were CRAZY long for me and in a weird spot, way too far back so they covered my ears completely. My question is, can I cut them off?! If I don't I won't be able to wear it at all. It's a short boy cut, so it's really noticible. Any advice is appreciated!

Rose Corrado: I really needed to know this. Thank you!

Kathleen Ryan: Oh thats how you do it..lol very easy great video...I keep telling people its not hard..you make thining your wig look easy Taz thanks!

Shirley Crisp-Olive: Thank you I am new to wearing wigs due to hair loss. I am have a lot to lean. Your video was helpful.

Joanne Sears: I like the look of the wig better now, I can see the difference and love it. Like I said before I have a very curly ig, with to much around my face and top. If there were a way I would show you what it looks like on me, oh well.

Christina Wojtowicz: Taz, do you ever thin out the part? I have seen others use tweezers and pluck the part but I don't see it done often. Should we be?

MimiDidi: Did you thin Dulce? It's so thick. I just got it last week from Cyster. My only place I've bought wigs for the last 3 years except when I've found great deals on used wigs on eBay.
