Welcome to life of hair, we're going to do a six section balayage. Does that mean well? What we're going to do is we're going to section the hair off into six sections putco details in those six sections, and this is going to create elevation. This is an express balayage technique, so if you want to get that little bit of lightness through the ends of your clients, hair and you haven't - got a massive amount of time, then this is the one for you. First thing you need to know is how to section the hair, it's really really simple, we're going to section up through the highest point of the head and we find the highest point of the head by keeping the head in a neutral position. We'Ve got our comb flat on the top and where it touches down. That'S the highest point: we're going to section down from there to behind the ear piece of hair, then elevate it straight up to the ceiling and if any hair falls down, because it's too short, don't worry about it. We can't color that hair anyway, it won't work. Get that piece of hair pull it straight up, get your elastic band okay and make a tiny little ponytail from the top of the head. Just like that. Do the same thing on the other side will spit back down now into two we're going to take a horizontal excecutive that runs through the middle of the occipital bones: I've elevated the hair straight up from the head, so this ponytail would effectively slip straight up. So we're going to take that section now on this side, so you can see we're going to take a horizontal section, run straight through the center of the occipital bone lips. If the bone is this curved bone, final steps is split. The hair down the middle again elevate this up with your band in put your band in at the top of that section, we've now got the hair into six sections: 3 & 3. Okay. The next step is to put bleach on the next section. The sections that I put in on the hair here, six sections particular technique - things you will need is some foil, some bleach right. So we've got five sections in the hair now and on this section, I'm going to show you exactly how I do it. So I split the ponytail section into two. I'Ve got the bottom of the section here. I put my foil underneath this section and I make sure I've got lots and lots of products and I heavily apply the bleach to the ends of the hair and I'm using a vertical brushing stroke towards the root just for a little bit of extra softness. The elevation will create some softness as well, then I bring in the second piece of hair and I lay it on top, and then I fly a lot of bleach to that section as well. You just make sure that I apply tons and tons of products because the more we apply, the better it will lift in the long run, and then I put another foil on top and then I flip over the foil and I remove the bottom foil. I just paint it onto and then I apply more Lightner to that underneath side now. Did you just see just before I put there the bleach it hadn't got all the way through to the other side. Now, that's why we've flipped the section over and make sure that our saturation or the product, the quantity of the product goes all the way through to the other side? Okay, so we just make sure we work that also diagonally side to side to get the product onto the hair thick enough that we can be guaranteed. We get maximum lift from this lightening process. Now we're going to take the hair to to a lighter brighter orange. So it's not going to need a wild amount of lift, so it shouldn't be on too long. I think it would be lifting quite well already, if I'm perfectly honest, then we're going to put a black roots in and a bright orange ends. We'Ve processed the balayage to a really really good level of bloomed, bearing in mind we're going to do bright orange on the ends here. So I'll just give you a close-up of the six section or elastic band. Balayage gives the hair that very, very soft finish. So, as you can see, that's worked out perfectly we're going to do a jet-black root over that orange and then we're going to put a bright orange over the blonde. So we've left some little orange pieces through her top layers, which are quite short just to veil. That very, very black fringe in there and you can just see from the side angle there a great blend going through and we've got the dark running right through the hair. So she's got that kind of very shadowy rooty vibe going on and it creates lovely soft, blended, balayage s, color and hopefully Freya is enjoying it and you enjoy it Freya. Well. This is a quick technique because we started phrase hair from scratch at 7 o'clock and the time now is just gone. 35 minutes past 8. So if you've enjoyed this technique - and you want to know more about Express poly, our techniques then give me a comment down below hit thumbs up hit. The subscribe button give me that feedback that gives me the drive to keep producing these videos. For you guys. This has been the life of hair, I'm Deb's a kitten. Thank you for your time and I'll see you again soon. In another episode, you

Crystal Kelley: Gorgeous, but I would expect nothing less from you!! Your work is always incredible and I value the education I receive from you.

Nakita Knight: Absolutely amazing I’m a licensed stylist and you still amazing with your videos. I get so much inspiration for you. Thank you so much for all the videos tutorials and sometimes when I’m feeling a little nervous I can watch your videos and I’m like OK I got this thank you so much. Have a blessed day and whoever reads this ❤I will pray you have a blessed day as well.❤

Tiffany Harris: Fantastic! I love all your videos, but especially appreciate the ones that demonstrate a faster way to give my clients fabulous hair!

Tina Craven: I'm not sure about this one, but I did try another one of your techniques. It was the easy balayage with 4 sections w/ zigzag diagonal parting. It turned out really nice!

Julie Kim: Thank you so much more the awesome hair tutorial!!! Her hair looks absolutely beautiful!!! I hope I can try this on someone!!!

tim keith: I love the technique and will be using it this Saturday 7/10/2019 ... You saved me a whole lot of time

doyenne: Hi! love your videos, thank you soooo much for them. do you have a video that shows how to do balyage roots without overlapping the bleach? do you have to carry the product from the top all the way to the ends of the hair or is there a way to just bleach the grown out bits? thanks so much again. <3

W Cumming: Great quick technique! I will be doing this today on my own hair and on a client in the very near future! Thank you! I am also wondering if you have tried teasing a bit close to the band to get a more diffused effect?✌

Natasha: Your videos are all amazing. Thank you for taking the time and effort to share all your expertise ☀️ *skips off to balayage hair*

Promise Richardson: Hey I love your videos...They are very informative and you are great at teaching...Thanks for sharing this technique, I think its brilliant. I would of loved to have studied the placements of the end result after washing and drying her but before you coloured it again..I am new hairstylist and It was a little hard for me to see the blend on hair that wasn't very contrasted...it would be nice if you could do it again on more contrasted hair lol ok now im pushing it,i know..... ill have to get out a manican and try the technique for myself cuz i could definitely use an express technique like this one.... cheers

Vaishu singh: Wow, always love the techniques you shared, looking forward to learn some money piece face framing techniques on Asian hair , (especially with fringes )

Smiuley: Could you lift many levels of hair colour with this technique? I'm planning to do a silver hair/black root colour on my hair and wanted to use this technique (except that I would make 12 pony tails) because it makes the colour transitions very smooth. Would this work in your opinion? Maybe if I put more foils into the ponytail? (Like, not only one per ponytail)

Brook Bell: So glad to be back James. I'm so happy for you. I wish my previous support gave me more emojis on the new platform . Thank you for being such an amazing person and educator

Diane Thompson: As always excellent video! I’d like to see what this does on long hair with no layers!

Toni Burns: LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!! Uber creative result and so time efficient. Thank you.

clare mcgee: love it .. an excellent technique. just love your method of teaching too.

Richard Turner: Great technique ! Really needed to see how black roots got melted into red orange ends though .

Handsoflightreiki: Loved the turning of the foils technique and it makes total sense

rmeredithm: Instead of flipping it to apply bleach to the bottom of the first half of each section, could you not just lie it on top of the foil with bleach already on the foil? It would also help hold that first half in the foil while you deal with the second half.

Antoinette Antoinette: Really happy to found your channel . Love your techniques and you explain them very clear greetings from the netherlands

Kristi Beauty: Instead of flipping the foil, could you paint the foil you put under the first 'bottom' section of the ponytail? Or would that not work as well?

Lindee Bibby: I like the easy methods because being a solo hairdresser I’m always stretched for time

Jeannie Boynton: Love this! Thank you so much!

TheReigningGoat 14510: Hey can you post more like this, and also how you make the contrast of colors. I didnt understand how you did that.

Nacereddine Challal 🏳️‍🌈: I can see this working perfectly for clients with thin hair , tottaly trying it soon

I should be sleeping: How exciting! I LOVE it!

Dorelle G: Genius ! cant wait to try it

Nakita Knight: I recently joined your channel and I am interested in hombres with vivid. That’s a new thing that has come out since I’ve been out of cosmetology school and I’m trying to stay relevant by beauty shows and tutorials and this will be my first attempt doing an ombre and I’m gonna try to do it in the six ponytail sections. I’m not sure I’m gonna practice it on a mannequin but I would love for you to do a video that featured an ombre like that.

Komal Ansari: What if someone has longer and thicker hair? Could you just section those ponytails in half to add more ponytails? Like say the the bottom two ponytails are square shaped, can you section them into to small triangles?

Lynn Canada: What a fun way to apply

Angela Acheé: You just changed my life

pinkroxysouthmead: Can you do hair roots and balage at the same time on brunettes would love to see that

judymarais12345: Awesome. More express please when you can. Love it.

Joanne Ham: Brilliant..thank you for sharing!

Odelle Spencer: Just love your big tips!!!!

Janet8925: I'd like to know what colors you used and what volume developer. What color brand did you use? Her hair is really shiny after all that.

Max Kinsella: loving your videos ,do you run any courses? next time im in London id love do a balyage course if you offer them ?

Nicola Cummings: That was beautiful x

Louise Linton: Awesome technique great vidz

Gabriela Lupan: Love it!

Abel Flores: Love your videos this particular video you really need vision never except this outcome. Love

Norma Estien: loving it!

Rachel Whittington: Hello! Loved this but I felt we could have had a better view of the end result. Because I know what I’m looking for I could visualise by the more inexperienced person might be confused

vbn: Tbh, I thought the result before the root stretch was awesome in itself (not that it wasn’t awesome with the black roots)

biglouis: Excellent technique congratulations

JessieJeanne: How do you get the black in without staining the bleached hair? I'm about to do one for the 1st time.

Odalys Ruiz: Beautiful! ❤️

carmen ware: I am cobbsmacked!!!!!! Bravo!!!!!

Marcello Woodford: Great technique and end Result-except in made her Nose appear suddenly Bigger-like Magic!

Dean Robinson: I don't see the point of bleaching out the red, and then putting more or less the same red back on. Couldn't you of darkened the roots, and just put a deeper red on the colour she already had?
