My sister, Alia, gets her locs retwisted once every 4 weeks and gets her color refreshed every 6 months. Yes, she has a bald spot in her crown. She suffered from alopecia areata all her life. Her baldness hasn't progressed at all. She started her locs with two strand twists. Her locs will be 3 years loc'd next month at the end of February.
