Now you guys already know i have been through hell and back when it came to clients my career, just everything in the hair industry. But one thing i never really went in depth with was how all of my shop equipment my chairs my shelves, even the door off of my suite okay got stolen by wait away what the shop owner! Yes, i said the shop owner stole my stuff. So, a long time ago right, i used to work at a salon that i've always wanted to work at, like i used to look up to the whole brand, i used to look up to the stylist and it was just a dream for me to work there And if y'all remember, i don't know if y'all do, but it was a salon in atlanta called salon ramsay. Now, when i first got to the shop like i was, i was trying to be prepared. You know, so i got a whole portfolio ready. I printed out, like 50 different hairstyles, i made a resume of all my hair experience and i came in to talk to one of the shop owners and he basically took me around the shop right. He didn't even look at my portfolio y'all and he was just like well hey. You can pay your rent, then you're good and i was like okay well we're in there. So, even though i thought that was a little weird, i was just like - i mean i don't know like, maybe they just don't have requirements like that, i don't know, maybe you know just paying your rent is enough, so i didn't think much of it. You know i just kept it moving and i was excited to have my very first salon job. So i was placed in the back of the shop right and this was like the lit part of the shop like we used to play music back there and it was like always lit when it came like nightfall. So i had my booth and i was right. Next to this lady named gucci, which was an amazing stylist, like i learned so much about shortcuts and 27 pieces and die from her like amazing and then, on my left hand, side. There was this female barber named dc and y'all. She was literally like the best barber in the shop, and i was so grateful because i'm like oh wow, like i'm literally in between some of the two most talented stylists in this entire building - and i was just grateful like i was soaking up every single moment In that shop, so after about six months of me being in that spot, i was thinking like you know. I think i want like to brand myself better, so there were like some sweets in the front of the building and some were occupied. Some were not so. I asked the shop owner, which was ramsay. I was like, if there's any more open suites you know, can i get one and he was like yeah, so i'm like okay great so i'm over here thinking of ways i can brand galaxy girl and easy breezy and how i'm gon na paint the walls and Y'All i was so excited and i felt like i was growing so fast because i'm like damn like i've, only been here for about like six months and i'm already upgrading so fast forward right after that i access shop owner, probably like a year later. If i can actually build a wall inside his shop and make a larger suite that was like three times as big as my first one and he let me do it and i'm like yo, i'm like my next step, i'm gon na have my own. You know storefront shop, so you know these little suites were basically getting me ready to lead a team. You know to be a manager of a group of people, and it really gave me a lot of experience and it gave me like a mini shop experience without having the responsibilities of the bills, and you know things breaking so that's. I think that part of my journey really separates me from a lot of other. You know stylists so with me being in that new spot right in the shop for about like a year, all of a sudden, the shop owner told us that the building had to be shut down and they couldn't renew their lease, and everyone in the shop was Like um, what the hell you know, i'm saying it was so many people that invested in their spaces and in their suites, and it was some people that was basically running full-blown shops. You know what i'm saying out: there suites they had stylists, they had workers and it was just like it took everyone by shock, so everyone was kind of lost at that moment. So i thought about it right. I thought about it and i was like i wasn't stressing too much, but i'm like what am i gon na do from here on out. So the shop owners were telling us that they were going to a new building and they were trying to get everyone to go with them, but i had a few issues of my own, like, for example, when i wanted to get something fixed. You know when i wanted to get like a leak fixed or the ac wasn't working. It was almost like. You had to pull an arm and a leg. You know just to get our basic needs fulfilled, so i was second guessing like traveling with the brand and even though the two shop owners were like breezy are you coming to the new building with us? We got the biggest suite for you and blah blah blah. You know i was kind of just like okay. I was like i'll think about it, i'll look at the building and stuff like that, but i was like making my own plans y'all like i was looking at other salon suites. I was looking at other managements and you know like i didn't really want to go through the unprofessional stuff anymore. I didn't want to make it a big deal. I really just wanted to go my own way without stepping on any toes or you know, making anybody mad. So the whole brand ended up moving to another building and everyone from the old building was, you know, getting their salon, equipment together and gathering their stuff, and one day i came up to the shop to pick up my chairs and my equipment and everyone. There was like a lot of other people, like you know, sweeping their their areas and they had their little u-haul trucks and stuff like that, and i went to my suite right and nothing was there and i walked up to my suite right. There was no door. Okay, all my chairs were gone. All of my shells were gone. All of my equipment, all of my hair. Everything was gone and i'm looking around at all the other stylists and i'm like, where are my stuff at so two stylists came up to me right and one of the girls was saying how oh one of the salon owners took your stuff and he was mad. That you were going to another salon, so he took your stuff and shipped it to like his mom's salon in florida and i'm like y'all. Let him do this, so i'm over here, heated right, but of course it doesn't make no sense for me to get mad at the girls because, like why would they fight for me like, if i'm not even there, to fight for myself, but i'm just like wow? That'S crazy, like just because i did not want to go to the new building or patronize them put money in their pockets. They wanted to take everything from me and mind you guys. My suite was the only one that was cleared out. Everyone else's stuff was still there. My stuff was the only stuff that was gone, so i went home right and i tried to calm myself down and prevent myself from crying, and i just told myself, you know what it's okay, it's! Okay, because these people will not get the best of you wherever this stuff came from, you can get more and i really try to keep calm guys, so i slept on it right i slept on it. I tried not to worry about it next morning. I got up and i was heated i got my ass up got in my car and i drove to their new location and i sat there and i waited for this lawn owner to pull up and in the midst of me sitting in my car, my homegirl Was like, where are you at and i told her where i was, and i told her why and she was like and she was like. Oh we we on the way so her and my friend ended up jumping in the car and followed me to the salon. So about 20 minutes later, okay, my two home girls showed up and one of them called ramsay and she was like hey um, i'm a stylist, and i want to look at a salon space and he was like yeah yeah, no problem, i'm gon na be up There in five minutes we hung up the phone and we was like got him so about five minutes later he ended up pulling up right and my two home girls got out the car like to pretend to greet him, and i came out the car right after Them and y'all, when i tell you when this man looked at me, this man looked like he saw a ghost and he was like brizzy. What are you doing here like he don't know? What'S going on and i'm like where my stuff at ramsay and he was like? Oh i don't got yourself, i don't know what you talking about blah blah blah and i said okay, so we walked right past him. Right walked in the salon, and i was looking for my stuff because i'm thinking that he had like a storage room or something i don't know so we walked around and y'all. You would not believe some of the people that was coming up to me at the old salon and was like yeah. He took your stuff blah blah blah. Some of my equipment were in their new suites y'all. I could not believe my eyes. Okay, i looked at the shelf and i looked the girl straight in her face, and these were some of the girls that was running up to me. Like i'm breezy yeah breathe. It took your step breezy and i was like that's a bit me and my homegirl knocked off all the hair supplies that they had on that damn shelf. We turned it on its side and baby. We took that thing out. Okay, so we're over here trying to carry the shelf out the salon right, and one thing i noticed is no one is trying to step to me. No one is trying to fight me. No one is even saying anything, and i know why, because if this shelf actually belonged to you and they knew it belonged to them, it would have been an issue, but because they knew they were in the wrong baby. Everyone was on hush mode and i still cannot get her face out my mind like that look of guilt and shock like they did not know. I was gon na show up that day. They did it. I know they didn't and y'all know that phrase. There are some people that will steal your stuff and then help you look for it. I lit this. This was that this was that so, okay back to the story, so we're carrying the shelf out the salon right and the salon owner starts yelling like what are y'all doing, don't be taking nothing out my shop and actually getting mad at me as if i'm in The wrong, so he ends up trying to slap the shelf out of our hands and stuff, and when i tell you it went from zero to a hundred after that moment, y'all it was crazy. It was literally me and my two home girls against him and it was basically like. We basically jumped him. It was crazy. Okay, it was getting crazy, it was yelling, it was cussing, we was fighting, it was pepper, spray involved y'all, it was crazy and all the stylists ran outside the salon and then was standing there. Everyone was watching right and i felt like everyone was like low-key satisfied because everyone had like their own little issue with the shop owner because he was a y'all. You know what i'm saying and i felt like everyone was slick, happy that that was happening to him. So before we knew it right, the cops ended up pulling up and i'm i'm scared, i'm like i'm about to get arrested, because this is like full-blown assault, so the cop ended up separating us separating him. He was messed up. Y'All like he was his face, was messed up and i'm like i'm going to jail. So i was telling one of the cops. What happened right from my perspective and i didn't lie about nothing. You know what i'm saying. I told the story exactly how it happened, because i felt like i was justified right and the cop was like okay, i believe you and he was like um no one's gon na get arrested today. Just make sure that you never do anything like this again, because there's not a lot of cops that will actually spare you. You know what i'm saying and you could have got arrested for assault today, so he was like go home and he was like. Never do. No like this again and he was like i'll, take care of the rest, and that was it so long story short guys. I never got my stuff back. Okay, i never even went home with that shelf. Okay, i never talked to my old co-workers again. Okay, i literally had revenge out for them for, like the rest of my life and um yeah, i had to save up money and rebuild myself, and even though i didn't truly get justice from that situation, you know i felt kind of satisfied.
