Customizing Bellami Hair Extensions! Color, Cut, & Style!

I have been wearing hair extensions since I was 16. When I heard of Bellami Extensions I had to try them out and they are AMAZING!!! The quality of these extensions are like no other. However, I did have to dye the extension myself because they did not have extensions that match my hair perfectly. Since I had to dye them, I thought I would film the process to show you guys how I did it. Hope this video helps and give you an idea on how to customize your own hair extension! Give this video a thumbs up if you like it! Love you guys! Please SUBSCRIBE!! LOVEEEE ;)

Whoa, hey guys, welcome back to my channel. I just want to say one thing to you guys and that's an apology. I want to say I'm sorry for being m.i.a for a bit. I have just been super busy with school. If you guys don't know, I'm a full-time, interactive design student at a college here in Boston, I also work part-time at a salon. I'Ve been training for something for about 16 weeks that I hopefully will be able to tell you guys about soon and also I have been traveling a little bit. So I've been all over the place and finally, I'm back in Boston and I'm ready to get some videos up for you guys some of them. I'M super excited about some DIYs that are so cute. A lot of them are in the process right now. A lot of the video some of them need to be edited. Some of them need to be filmed a little bit more, but I will get those out for you as soon as possible, ASAP yeah. So, let's get on with this video. This video is about my hair extensions, which is why you clicked on this video not to hear me ramble on, but these are the 220 grams hair extensions from Bellamy and, oh, my god, I love them they're so thick from root to end or from clip to End not really root because there's no root left, but these hair extensions are amazing. I love them so much. They look so natural when they're put in I love them. So when I first received the 220 gram hair extensions, I got the extensions in the color strawberry blonde, because naturally I am a strawberry blonde and then I got blonde highlights so my base color is my natural color. That is a strawberry blonde. So usually I tried to find a hair extension that kind of matches my base color and usually a strawberry blonde works perfectly. But when I got them they were legit pink, they weren't even a strawberry blonde. They were blonde, obviously, but they were like a pinky blonde. You could see the pink in it, so I just decided I was like you know what no problem I can just dye them because that's usually what I do with all my hair extensions to customize them to my own hair color. So I decided to make a video to show you how I customized my hair extensions. Obviously, this won't be the same technique for your hair extensions because you probably have a different hair color than I do. But I just wanted to show you my process and hopefully that will give you a little bit more information a little bit more idea of how to do it yourself. My biggest advice, one make sure that you talk to a professional that knows: hair color knows a certain hair, color line that they feel comfortable with and that they make you feel comfortable about using on your own hair extensions. Make sure you tell them what the hair color is of the hair extensions and what color you want it to be? Make sure that you tell them if the hair extensions have been dyed before or if it's a natural hair color, because that does make a difference. Do not, I repeat, do not use CVS, hair, color box color do not use that that's just stupid because you spent all this money on hair extensions and then you're, just gon na go buy a box color from CVS. Don'T do it so make sure that you talk to a professional that knows what they're talking about when it comes to hair color and make sure you can get as much information from them as possible. I wish I could give you as much information as I could about your hair extensions, but I can't see you I don't know what your natural hair color is. I don't know what your extension color is, and I don't know what you want it to be. If you want to ask me questions and take pictures of it and post it on Twitter, I will totally absolutely try to help as much as I can, but it's best if you find someone in person that can touch your hair, that can touch your extensions. That can figure out what exactly you want it to be. That is my biggest biggest biggest biggest advice for you when you're coloring, your own hair extensions yeah. So, let's just get on with the video, I explained a lot more in the process of it, but I just want to say Bellomy hair extensions, you guys Rock. Oh my god. I love you so much. The thickness on these hair extensions are incredible. I'Ve never had any kind of hair extensions that are this thick. I'Ve had hair extensions since high school and some of them even from high school, still work. Well, I mean they're shedding a little bit, which is normal, and but these hair extensions I can tell they were the best investment I have ever made, because these are going to last me so long, I'm so excited about them and yeah. Let'S get on with the video, shall we and these are the products I use to color my own hair extensions. I used some hair foils, a foiling comb, some color that matches my own hair color, some bleach, three different kinds of developer. I used a 5 10 and 20 volume and then 2 coloring bowls with two coloring brushes. That depends on how many colors that you are actually going to put in the hair, depending on how many bowls and brushes you need and then obviously a color key in order to get the color out of the tubes and obviously your hair extensions. And these are the hair extensions before they were colored or before they were cut and the color of them. It'S very, very uh. No and my hair has a lot of dimension in it because it has a base color and then it has coils in it and lowlights, and this was just kind of one solid color. So I wanted to kind of break it up a bit and obviously it's a little bit lighter than my original hair than my natural hair color as of right now. So this is another hair extension I have from just past experience and this hair color matches my hair perfectly and, as you can see, it's a little bit darker than these hair extensions. So I need to color them a little bit darker and also put some foils in it, so that it can be a little bit more dimensional. So first I'm going to be taking one weft and I'm going to be coloring. It completely a solid dark color, because underneath I usually get partial foils and underneath is a lot darker, then, on top of my head, so I'm going to be using Wella, hair color. I don't recommend you using this hair color. I recommend you using any kind of hair color that you're really really educated on and then I'm going to be using five volume developer. The reason why I'm using five volume developer is because I want to pause it only because I am going darker. There'S no reason for lifting my hair extensions, because I just want them to get darker, so I'm using deposit-only, you can use ten, but I find using five, especially in hair extensions. It just has a nice move, applications, sometimes a 10. You have to leave it on longer and if you don't leave it on longer, you have kind of like patches of darker places and lighter places, so I feel like five-volume works best when you want to deposit only for your hair extensions. So that's why I'm using just five volume I will be using ten volume as well and 20 volume with the bleach, but that's later on, and then I'm just going to be taking tinfoil lying it down and since I'm just coloring the whole thing I'm just going To be doing just that coloring the entire thing and making sure that I do one side and then flip it over. You also want to make sure that you wear gloves, because this is a chemical that you are using. So you don't want to burn your hands and also it is a bi TCH trying to get care color off your hands, it's so annoying. It'S like sunless tanner that just will never come off. So that's! This is what I am doing right now now what I suggest I suggest, when you go to a beauty, supply store. You talk to a sales rep that is very educated on the line. She knows your dyeing hair extensions and that you want to talk to her about the color that you want look at a color book see which one matches your hair. Let them know what your original hair color is, because, since mine are a little bit Pinker, I am going to be using a ash based color, which is Wella. So that's the reason why I chose that one and also because I've used Wella before quite a bit, but I recommend you talking to a sales rep, seeing which one you like the best now, since I am done with the bottom now, I'm gon na go on With the rest of the weft of hair and I'm going to be mixing bleach and I'm pretty sure this bleach is by L'Oreal, I'm not really sure I've had it for so long and then I'm just going to be using 20 volume, I'm using 20 volume, because I do want a little bit of lift in order to get them to be blonde. I don't need to use 30 because they are already blonde quite blonde. Actually, I just want to put a little bit of dimension into it. So that's why I'm using that and the bleach is purple because it is taking any brassiness tone. So it's basically works as a toner as well. Then, after that, I'm just going to be basically using foil to highlight the extensions, and this is exactly how you would highlight your actual hair. Obviously it's a little different, because you can't get straight right up to the weft or what I should say the root. I guess you could say so: that's what I'm going to be doing, I'm going to be just taking and weaving out hair from the hair extensions. Just like you would your actual hair when you get a foil and do highlights and lowlights highlights just mean a lighter color lowlights mean a darker color, so it just has a little bit of dimension to it, and then I'm going to put that one aside. Take the next wife to the exact same thing and foil lowlights and highlights into the hair to add dimension, keep on using the foiling comb and weaving and doing exactly what I'm doing. Basically, and then I will put that one aside start on the next West and keep on doing it over and over and over again now you have to remember that when it does deposit and when it does process the hair, color and the bleach, it will take Longer than normal, because there is no heat radiating off your head in order to heat the hair so that it can actually process. So you will have to leave it on for a little bit longer longer than normal, but you just want to check it after their first. Like half hour, I would say it depends on what kind of color you're going with, like, I said, talk to a sales rep, make sure you're really educated on the lap on the color line, read the directions and follow them to the tee. The directions are there for a reason, so definitely follow those. So then, once everything is processed and it's the color that you like, then all you are going to do is wash them, I'm washing them in the sink, and I'm just going to be. You know taking the hair color out, shampooing them and then putting them aside. I do condition them as well, but I don't use that much of hair conditioner just enough so that you can comb through them. So you're gon na put them aside. They'Re gon na look super scary too, so walking in and just seeing them they're gon na be like. Is that a dog? No it's just it's just my hair extensions. Don'T worry about it, so you can leave them overnight. Let them air-dry as best you can and then, if you want - and you don't have a lot of time, you can blow-dry them yourself. So then, once I'm done blow-drying my hair extensions, I'm just going to go to the hairdresser in the hair salon and get them cut. I originally got the 22 inch Bellamy, hair extensions, but they were way too long and very very blunt. So I got some of the Lund taken off and I also got layers cut into the hair extensions when you go to the hairdresser. Put your hair extensions in like you, normally would and just ask your hairdresser for a dry haircut. So when you go there, she'll cut it dry, which makes it a lot easier to see how your natural hair and how your hair extensions will blend together. So she can see how it falls and everything that's my biggest suggestion and then and then, once you are done with your dry haircut, you will want to label your hair extensions. So when you do take them out, put on the little clip left right to make sure that you put the right hair extension on either side depending on how your hairdresser cut your hair extensions. So that is what she is doing right now. Also another tip with your hair extensions in order for them to blend in with your natural hair. Of course, color helps a lot, but also to match your natural texture with your hair extensions and what I mean by that, if your hair is PC, then you'll want your hair extensions to be PC. If your natural hair has a lot of layers in it, then you'll want your extensions to have a lot of layers in them. I have a lot of long layers, so I wanted to match my hair extensions accordingly and that's what I just asked the hairdresser to do and after that, once I am done getting them all cut. I am just going to take a 1 and 1/4 barrel. Curling iron, this one is by Hot Tools and start curling, my hair, like so, and just taking my natural hair and my hair extensions at the exact same time and curling them with my curling iron. This isn't always how I would style my hair extensions, but for today it is because I wanted a nice loose curl, hair style and yeah, I'm pretty happy with how they turned out the color of them, the length of them in the style of them. I'M very happy with it. We hope this video helps you guys out if you are trying to customize your own hair, extensions and yeah. Thank you so much for watching and I'll talk to you guys later bye, guys
