Color Correction Tutorial: Transforming This Client From Highlights To Bleach Out In One Day

Hey Everyone! Im sorry I haven't loaded a video up in a couple of weeks! But here is a process I get asked about frequently: How to turn a Highlights client into a Global Bleach Out client in one sitting!

In this video ill be putting up my formulas, methods, tips and tricks on how I do this in on appointment. It is a few steps but it can be done in one sitting and the clients really appreciate it!

Watch out for your old bleach work though, this is a HIGH RISK colour correction so only a trained professional should attempt this!

thank you all so much for your constant love and support!

Hey guys, it's katie from bobby hair studio, thanks for coming back today, we're going to take our highlight client to a straight bleach out. This is something i do pretty commonly and it's considered a color correction, but i wanted you to see how i do this so that it makes a little bit more sense for any of you out there who are beginners to hair and want to learn how to Take someone from highlights to a bleach out, i'm going to start with blonde me and 20 volume and then i'm going to use my star struck silver foils from framar. I prefer a pre-cut foil for a service like this, with the amount of hair that i have here. If someone had an obscene amount of hair, i would use maybe a foil roll and a thinner foil, but i do prefer to use a more embossed pre-cut foil. Just for my speed when i have a client with an average to normal amount of hair, this technique is actually pretty simple. When you actually see it laid out, however, the actual execution of it can be a little bit more difficult. What you want to do is you want to bleach over anything that can handle a bleaching, and you want to avoid anything that can't so essentially my bottom foils, because they're mostly root, i cover them all the way down and going up through the top. Here you can see that i'm leaving out some hair, that's hair, that i know that can't handle the 20 volume and bleach right now. However, i will be going over it later with a seven volume which is much much more gentle and it can handle a little bit more bleaching. That way, i'm leaving about a half inch of her root available for me to bleach later, because when i do put bleach on that area, it will process super super quickly, so it will bypass the foil processing time. So i'm going to put that in in just a couple minutes, but here is all her foils, and here is what a perfect lift looks like, as you can see, her ends are darker than what's in the foil here, but that's why i'm going to go over Them with a much softer bleach at the end, rather than putting them in full strength with 20 volume, you may need some assistance with something like this. That'S why i get my other stylus kern deep to help me out here, i'm putting on the root and what i'm doing is i'm also kind of scraping away all that old bleach through the end, so it doesn't keep processing, but any areas that do need to Keep processing i put either that kind of old bleach back on it if it just needs a little teeny boost, or i reapply new seven volume and blonde meat onto the ends, if they're dark enough that they need that it just kind of comes down to what Your experience is what your client's hair is like, and what kind of bleach you're using when you're reapplying bleach to the ends like this? As you can see, i'm making sure the ends here stay moisturized and saturated while i'm putting on my roots, because the roots will process in probably 20 to 30 minutes, because she's, naturally a level six to seven. And as you can see, i let my foils process. Almost all the way before i actually start pulling them out and putting on my root color, and this is because foils take so much longer to process than the scalp area, because the scalp has heat which will make the bleach process faster. I also started with the section that i started putting in the foils with first so that the other areas have time to catch up while i'm putting on the roots some areas, i will be leaving the foil in i'll, just be scooting it down. So i have room to put on the root: that's a totally good way of putting in your foils and your root at the same time, if your foils still need an extra five to ten minutes of that insulation after i'm finished, applying her root, i'm going to Incubate her head using a plastic processing cap and using her back bib to wrap over top, not around her face, because i don't want the fumes to get in the way, but around her head to keep her bleach moisturized and to keep it going here. It is after we did our first toner. However, she did feel like it was a little bit too bright for her. She prefer to go a little bit. More beigey rose goldy, so we did another formula which is right here, and this is how that formula turned out. She was really happy and even though we did have a little bit of breakage at the ends, we gave her a healthy cut and she's happy to go on living life as a full, solid, platinum, blonde. Now and the fun part about being a platinum, is you can change up your toner whenever you want so, even though today she did rose gold next time she might want to do something more silvery or platiny. Thank you. So much for watching you guys remember to like and subscribe

Baby Doll: Thank you so much i was looking for this! Love the end result you did an awesome job.

Joemaani Alexas Colon-Gambrell: You make me love doing color . Long story short, I’m a cosmetology student who doesn’t like color at all, and you make me feel inspired thank you so much for all that you do

Constanza Kuch: I wanted to go fully blond, but my stylist did what she wanted and made a balayage, applying dark dye onto my roots, and in between. Now the bleached hair is already really damaged, + I hated the look from the first day. I don't know if fixing it will leave me bald and/or be more expensive than I can afford. I wanted to be blond for such a long time, cause I'm German but don't look like it: so I wanted a natural blond. What my stylist did to me looks the most unnatural it could look. I'm so frustrated. :'(

MarshHan: This is why blonde takes so much time and money. I foiled my hair by myself yesterday. Really hard to do lol. I don’t like salons tho they mess up my hair every single time. But I love watching her videos!

trulifepixie: Beautiful application and explanation. Thank you.

Bre Laguna: If I lived closer I would definitely try to assist you once I finished school because you teach me so much more than I learn at school

Gt3 r: Love ur education videos

Kayla Haynie: Beautiful work!! What volume did you use to lighten her roots?

Christopher Mitchell: I’ve been doing hair 30 years and I WISH my foils looked like that. Great job !

Juliette Donohue: wow, that's awesome; I'm still wondering whether I should one day try going full blonde rather than highlighted or balayage look - as my hair is coarse, wavy redish dark blonde, I have doubts about whether its a good or bad idea.

Katie: Whoa!!! The end color! Didn’t know you could get that look with overall bleach, I’m gonna show my stylist and stop the foils

Elisabeth: This is exactly what I want to get done! Hopefully I can find a good salon. How much does something like this typically cost?

Julie B: Beautiful results!!!

penny hawk: LOVE your videos!! What is the advantage of putting the hair in the foils first as opposed to not using them and avoiding the root then doing it later? TY in advanced!

Kylie Weems: How long does this whole process take?

drkmgic: Ah dang I much prefered the first toner lol. Thanks for showing this to us.

Battle B: If the hair had previously only had scattered foils in it, would you still use this method? You should really look after your precious hands too!!! Wear gloves

Catt Cosmo: What developer and bleach did you use on scalp?? Was it the same as the ends? 7vol with blondeme powder or was it something else?

Tanit the Curious: I asked 3 hairdressers to do this and they all refused to do it. They said it wouldnt work and that my hair would fall out.. :( why?

Wiktoria Baran: how long do you leave the toner on?

Wahwahmels: Don’t you need to work fast during this ? Today I just got my hair bleached again and she was taking a very long time applying over my already dyed blonde hair. The total time today was about 4.5 hours. Is that normal ?

its smiller: I'm just amazed at all that touching the bleach with no gloves!

Crystal D Mayfield: GORGEOUS, but Omg, girl, your poor hands touching all that bleach!!!!!

Ziv Benigoyev: 0:42 i like how you fold it!

Maria Guzman: I have a question. I have highlights and I want to bleach my hair to dye my hole hair another color but I don’t know what to do my natural hair is super black, thick and long dead from the tips because of the highlights and I have a lot of hair too can you help me? ( sorry if it didn’t make since I didn’t know how to explain it well)

Marlene Lyles: I love your videos you are so informative. Where can I purchase the plastic cap or you just make it from Syrian wrap

David Biritz: Why pink and peach in the last toner? Shades 10N=10T + 1/2 clear would’ve better informed the need of a second toner, and would’ve provided an even seamless canvas.

Elena Koulikova: ok I was looking for video what are proportions to mix the mixture..

KilsburyDoughGrl: Team No Gloves!! ‍♀️

Teddy Li: Just wondering when hairdressers or rather when yourself say ‘bleach’ what chemical is that?

BSLx: Omg no gloves how do you do that :O xD

B L: My back hurts just watching this video.

Cathy Shaw: May I ask why you wouldn’t simply do a full head beach ?

Carly Schofield: are you using 7% on her roots also? I have a total blonde guest coming in tomorrow I've never done before so I'm just refreshing on how I want to tackle it

Scott Truesdale: This is an old video but I was just wondering... how come u weren't wearing gloves when u were touching the bleach?

Mayra Perez: Hey love what do you film with?

Mari A: I wish you were my hair person

Rafaela Oliveira: Please use gloves

Vangie Balazuela: what color u pot hair u not show only highlight .aftr tgat is done u doing step by step .ok

April Topaz: I bet your hands were burning ‍♀️

Chelsey Umm Ali: Ouch where are your gloves? Lol

Username Taken: Omg wear gloves!

OuKanha: Why aren't you using gloves?

among the wild: You have super power hands yo
